Oh, crap, because that's what edward's eyes do too. She describes them repeatedly as 'smoldering.' But even so, I think I know what you mean. I barely got through it without retching.

Umm... Why are we jumping down this person's throat? She was simply stating disbelief that this happened, and she thought the person used incorrect grammar.
We all make typos now and then, and if we weren't cynical sometimes we'd believe every story of someone being stabbed by a needle or things of the like.
...Besides, "not" isn't used in this context a lot in some areas. I can understand a bit of confusion.

sakura_shippuden_rox when I read twilight my eyes burned I'm not surprised. When I read it my eyes didn't exactly burn, per se, but I can still relate. And the grammar of "I kid you not" is fine, by the way.

'Not' is an adverb, and it is gramatically correct when used in "I kid you not," which is actually just as correct as saying "I am not kidding."
