Honestly I think Freud, although thoughtful, was a perverted cocaine addict. And he WAS a cocaine addict, and he WAS perverted. Most of his findings had no like, proof or testing. They were just published thoughts. He should be valued for opening the door, not for what was inside.

I'm an "a**l retentive" person, but I prefer to call myself OCD.
Why?
Because one of my issues is I don't like discussing bodily functions in any aspect. At all. It makes me extremely uncomfortable. It's another reason why I'm hoping to get a Senior Suite with my own private bathroom and shower next year.
Freud's interesting, but I still think the Freudian approach tries to project perversion onto normal things.

According to Freud, he never proressed passed the a**l Stage and continued to evaluate the world with the central focus being his a**s. Yes. Pretty screwed up, but then so is pretty much everything else about the guy. Look at how talk therapy started. Or his obsession with a Greek Tragedy. The Greeks though Oedipus' situation was like the worst thing that could possibly happen to a person; Freud saw his own desire to kill his father and sleep with his mother so figured every one was like him.
He's one sick, sick puppy. Is it any wonder, with him as a founding father, that western psychology is so backward in many respects?
Check out Erickson's stages of developement. I think their much more palatable and orifi-centric

Ahhh... so your mother stopped breast feeding you too early. You need to mature and focus on your genitals /freud Try going trough a day looking at the world through Freudian lenses. It's so twisted.

Ye gods I hate Freud. Twisted as a corkscrew that one. Best left in his grave.
