I got a new pair of shoes and they gave me this sharp pain in the lower left part of my shins about an inch above my calves? I'm afraid to give the shoes a week to break in because on saturday I have a big race. What should I do?

It's called shin splints!!! and if you have a race coming up wear your old ones and then wears the new ones at practice... There is a way to tape for shin splints too, so you could wear your new ones.
