YO FELLOW GUILDIES, 'SUP?
I'm here today to ask for your help. I've joined a vid prompt community on Livejournal called Vid the Grid which is a editors take on Fic prompt community and the ever elusive fanfic100 project grid.
What you do is pick one of three video prompt tables to accomplish; random, rainbow, or music genre. I picked random and my table prompts are as follows:
1. 80's music 2. Humour!Crack 3. Advertisement 4. Fun/happiness 5. Angst/sadness 6. No lyrics 7. Secondary characters 8. Romance/love 9. Black & white 10. Something different 11. Colors 12. Vidder's choice
These are what they seem; video prompts for fan editing. They are not strict guidelines and I may interpret them creatively as I'd like. I just have to be able to explain my line of reasoning in how my video ties into any given the prompt. My claim is a broad one, "TV and Movies" so that is the media I can work with.
What I'd like from you guildies is any suggestions for songs, if you have any video requests for a number or any overall video ideas you may have in concordance with the prompts. And/or encouragement. I've never done something like this before and sharing your fanscary with strangers can become scary in of its self. At least it is for me.

Here goes my ideas thus far:
1. I'd love to do either a Twin Peaks video or a Skins video for the 80s song; the main problem is I have no 80s music and don't listen to 80s music. I'm wanting Shampoo-Chan or Wizzle to pull through for me on this one. I'm thinking of a song along the lines being kind of The Cure or The Smiths-ish with minimal sensitizers because I'll be hearing this song over and over and over. And I don't want to kill myself.
2.) OH, I THINK I CAN DO THIS ONE. I just hope it isn't too cracktastic.
3.) No idea yet. Something to do with Mad Men possibly? I know, original. Shuddup.
4.) A happy Buffy vid could be fun... Blerg on having to make a happy video.
5.) I cannot read the word "angst" without instantly seeing "MSR, UST" following it in my head. Scary insight, I know; but trust me when I say it scares me more because I don't even read fanfiction. Anywho; X-Files vid for the wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin.
6.) I kinda want to make a X-Files vid for this one too, but perhaps it would be best reserved for a movie. Maybe Blade Runner... Instrumental pieces/bands, suggest them! D<
7.) For secondary characters I think I want to revisit Dollhouse.
8.) MUST RESIST URGE TO MAKE A XENA: WARRIOR PRINCESS VIDEO OF MELODRAMATIC LESBIAN AMAZINGNESS.
9.) No idea yet.
10.) *Secrets*
11.) I think I'd like to feature a really colorful show or movie for this one; maybe Doctor Who or Miyazaki titles. Anyone know songs featuring/describing/whateversabout colors?
12.) No idea yet.

I AM GOOD AT MAKING IDEAS, ESPECIALLY BAD ONES. I WILL HELP YOU.
Right now though, I really only have one suggestion.
6. Vanessa Mae's 'cover' of Vivaldi's "Summer: Tempo impetuoso d'Estate"; or the eventual remix into the song "Storm". Both can work pretty well for a music video. A large chunk of what she does is instumental as well (classical or otherwise) so she might be worth taking a look at.

Thanks for the help Sorce! I'm looking into Vanessa Mae right now! I'm also going over ES Posthumus stuff but their work is either too theatrical/recognizable/been used or slow. Gah!
