Hey guys! So as you all know, our goal is to make you guys as literate as possible. Therefore, we will discuss the issues that many of you, and even highly skilled rpers, will encounter.
First and foremost, it doesnt matter how long or short your posts are, you MUST try your best to spell and punctuate correctly. That way, people wont have to try to decifer what you are trying to say. Please do NOT use text speak or abbreviations unless it is the name of something. ( eg. plz d0 n0t 7ry t0 d0 1337 $p34k, its vry hrd t0 fig out wat ur tryin ta say.)
Occasianal mistakes are understandable and if you truley dont know how to spell something, ASK!We dont bite, unless you are asking Avari :3 When starting a sentence, capitalize the first word, put periods and space correctly, you have all learned this in elementary school. Show us that you are intelligent beings!
When posting, use "quotes" to indicate that someone is speaking. Use Italics when you are thinking something. Use either ( parenthasize), [ brackets] or { these funny looking things} when you are talking in Out Of Character, commonly known as OOC. you can find out more about OOCs Here
Do NOT use *asteriks* ~ these things~ to portray action in an rp post, when you are in a OOC thread, feel free to use as much of it as you want
Second, when you are posting, please try your hardest to type at LEAST 5-7 sentences. There will be no maximum amount of text you are allowed to post. Also, REREAD your post after you have typed it out to make sure it flows and it is easy to read.
Make sure you keep in mind that the people you are role playing with cannot read your mind so make it clear what you are trying to portray. If you think it can be a little vague and you are not sure how to make it clear, feel free to add an OOC post at the bottom explaining what you meant. If there is a word you use that some people might not know the meaning of, either change it or define it.
A few cheats on how to make your post seem longer is to make paragraphs, of course, each paragraph should be a decent size. Another way is to create another paragraph everytime some one speaks.
Make sure you keep your posts pleasing to the eye so people are willing to read it.
Next, you may all be mature people, but know that Gaia is a place for people of all ages, which means there will be young ones on here as well. Please keep your cussing to a minimum, i dont care what they say in other threads but try not to offend anyone. If you feel you must curse, please euphemize it as much as possible, i for one am strongly opposed to cursing but if it is something you just have to do, please try to think of others.
Also, Sexual content, keep it Pg- 13. I know now in our society Pg- 13 is borderline sex, but when i say it i mean, keep it to kissing and hugging and cuddling. Dont even continue it in the PMs! Cybering is just plain odd, if you want to do it then please get the person's email or something and not let us know about it.
Also, even if your character is racial, please keep it soft, there is always someone who will get offended and report us, so please help us keep this guild report free!
