Earth had undergone many changes over the past 400 years. Since late 2009, there had been two major wars, one that brought humanity to the brink of extinction, only to have it wage another that made most of the world uninhabitable for almost a century.
The year was 2409, and humanity was once again prospering. The humans had perfected space travel; had several colonies on planets in different star systems, and had even made contact with several intelligent alien life forms, the Dunmer, the Voth, and the Keldor.
Dunmer were short, lithe humanoids who had black to grey skin, light hair, and bright red to yelow eyes. they had sleek and sharp features, elven-esque ears.
The voth were reptilian humanoids, tall, muscular builds, with aptitudes for hunting, and tracking. Their skin was clad in hard scales, ranging from forest green to a sandy brown.
The Verpine were humanoid insects of some sort. They resembled giant praying mantises. Despite their appearance, they were amongst the most learned and educated in the galaxy.
He was a Dunmer, about 19. Typical of his people, he was short, slim, and suck; both mentally and physically. He was about 5`3, and weighed about 100 pounds. On his body were a pair of gray camouflage pants, a white t-shirt, brown leather flight jacket. He owned a small space craft; an old ore hauler about 100 years out of date. He was a plot; an a bit of a rogue, making money smuggling people and things onto blockaded planets in he galaxy. His name was Izulde Unon'dall, but most knew him as only Izzy. At his waist, in a leather holster was a laser pistol; old, bulky, but nonetheless reliable.
He had to lay low, United Colony fores were looking for his ship; so he stopped over on this backwater; Earth. Izzy needed to get a new set of ship ID codes for his small freighter; The Shroud, and he heard that the slums of Detroit were the perfect place to look.

Vera Lee was a pawn shop queen. If it could be hawked, she did it. From old jewelry, to parts of a ship, this girl stole and sold it all. She was one of the few Humans left that came from the death of the wars, and she was very thin, no chest, and no hips. She had long, thick, black hair, with bright blue eyes, and dirty but pale skin. She was short too, only five feet tall, and 98 pounds. But it didn’t matter. This girl could run and get away when needed, so her small size was good. She was often called the Detroit Devil, but only those who really knew her called her Vera Lee.

Izzy walked away from the shady-looking docking bay in which he moored his vessel, rapping his fingers against the barrel of his AEP-0 laser pistol. He didn't really like coming to Earth; or other dead worlds for that matter. He knew humans were on the way out, but it was their own damn faults. Humans; in general were in his words; "Some kind of stupid." A phrase that he liked to toss around whenever he was describing someone who was not all that intelligent. His ship was a bit of a mothball; but it served him well; despite it's shabby appearance, it was fast, and well armed. Sporting two particle cannons and four laser turrets for smaller targets. The ship's name was the Shroud; and it was one of the faster smugglers' ships; capable of making the run from Nar Shada to Esiplon Bahutees in only six hours. He walked through the dank, dirty alleyways of Detroit, looking for a "fence" to change his ship's ID codes.

Vera was running as fast as she could through the streets, an item tucked in her pack at her narrow hip. The fuzz was after her, and she was flying, when she ran into someone with gray skin. “Move” she ordered roughly, and she pushed past them, before she jumped in a dumpster, hiding from the cops.

The skinny brat who rudely shoved him out of the way leaped past him and into the dumpster. Soon, she was followed by three police officers, clad in combat armor, and carrying laser rifles. They eyeballed Izzy nd pointed a gun at him. "A girl ran past here... did you-" Izzy cut him off. "Yeah..." he paused. "she shoved right past me, and ran in that door. He said, pointing to a large, durasteel door leading into the maintainance section of the Detroit Spaceport Authority. "If you hurry, you might catch her." With that, the police officers went into the door and were gone. He waitd a few minutes; then drew his laser pistol, pounded on the top of the dupter twice; then opened it. "Give me one good reason I shouldn't vaporize you right now?" he said, aiming the laser pistol into the dumpster.

Vera listened to the guy get the fuzz away from her, and she let out a small sigh, before she was threatened, and she rolled her eyes. "Do it then. My reeason's are simple though. I can get you whatever it is that you came to this s**t hole for. Need parts or a real gun?" she asked as she cheked her pck, and her loot. Ah, still safe. "So go ahead, kill me, but I didn't do a thing to you."

Izzy smirked, aimed his pistol at the far wall; the wall of a known whore house. 'this is a real gun... an AEP-0 laser pistol." He said, laughing a bit. He pulled the trigger and a bolt of green-blue light leaped from the gun's barrel. A split second later, there was a ten by ten foot hole in the durasteel wall.
"This gun'll vaporize anything not behind a class 8 force field." he holstered the pistol. "sorry about tht; I've been running on litle sleep and s**t..." He said, offering her some help out of the dumpster.
"What I need is someone with the equipment an know how to change my ship's transponder codes." He said. "You know anyone in this backwater that's familiar with Narn-Franzi craft?" he asked.

"Me Uncle, he can get yeah what yeah need for a cheap price" she nodded.
"Just follow me" she grunted, and she headed off to the left. "It's just on Fleet street here" sher siad after a minute, before turning into a small but well kept shop, where a woman was sweetping. "Hey Tam" Vera grinned as she tossed the spark plugs to her uncle

Izzy looked to Vera. "Sorry about brandishin' that laser pistol at ya." He looked around, walking through the slums with Vera Lee. "So yeah..." He paused. "My name's Izzy." He smiled a bit. "What do they call you?"
As they ventured through the slums of Detroit, He thought of who he was being lead to.
"So your uncle can reprogram my transponder?" He asked. "You aren't shitting me, are you?" He paused. "Is your uncle a tech' or something?"

"No problem I'm use to gus and s**t by now" she shrugged, before the thought for a moment, consitering her name. "They call me the Detroit Devil" she finally stated, before nodding as she looked at him. "Yeah, Uncle Tim is a tech, smart as hell" she shrugged as a thin balding man came out, and looked at Vera"Good, you got those spark plugs" he smiled. He was re-making an old car from before the wars.
"Uncle, this is Izzy, he needs you reprogram his transporter" she explained.
"Alright Izzy, what modle do yeah got?" Her uncle asked.

When Izzy got into the shop, he pulled up the sleeve on his jacket, Revealing the wrist computer. "Trans ponder... not trans porter." Izzy corrected Vera Lee. "But yeah; I need someone to change the codes for the Shroud." He walked over, and showed Tim the schematics for the Shroud, before removing the computer. "If you can, download them onto there... and I can repay you... I've got several crates of united Colony marine Core plasma rifles in my ship... each crate has twenty-four rifles in it... new transponder codes worth to, do you think?"

'Vera, go get My green cable" Tim ordered, and Vera nodded, before headding off to get the cored for him for some downlading thing. "Ill have to warn you, this will take an hour, My computer is old and slow" Tim warned him.

"Then how about the Shroud's old computer core?" Izy asked. "Its an older model... a CP-9001; but it'll be faster than your clunker, I presume." He said, turning to Vera Lee. "Come back to the ship with me, Vera; we'll grab the Core, and come back here." He paused. "By teh way; My name's Izzy, Tim." He said. "Let's go?"

"Docking by 95." Izzy said, as he walked down the alley where Vera Lee spider-monkyed into the dumpster. H walked down; past the door, and into a large hanger bay. There was another ship next to his; and another group were entering it. He sauntered past them, unlocked the entrance ramp to the ship. "Chill here." Izzy said as he grabbed the computer core from inside of a storage locker. it was slightly beaten, but once placed in Tim's computer, it would speed it up tenfold. Izzy took the core in hand, and walked to the rear of the ship. The core was only about three years old, and could run a small starship's systems with no problem. He opened the door to the ship's small hanger bay, and placed the core into the small cargo compartment on his speeder bike. He locked up the ramp, and lowered the bike into the docking bay fro the speeder's dash. When it touched down, Vera Lee saw the sleek vehicle. "Hop on." Izzy said, with a smile, as h puled over to Vera; the craft's engine's purring, and causing it to hover in place.
