Congrats to the Colts Fan, Athrun, and myself for going 5-0. In your faces! Too bad they're 10-0 where I'm just 7-3.... Yeah.... ANYWAY!

Welcome to the Annual NFL Guild Pick of the Week 2009. We will be selecting the winners from 5 NFL games. After you have selected the winning team your choice is final. You must post the teams you are selecting here. Do not PM me your choices. If you don't post here who you are selecting I won't know. Once you have posted you choices here I will add your name to the list of people participating in the event. Remember that this guild event is free. This week is pretty tough for me...

This week, the games could go in either one's favor. So, this was pretty tough.

Last weekend was a little rougher than I thought it would have been. But everyone's going to have their up and down weeks.

San Francisco at Minnesota- Despite getting off to a 2-0 start, San Francisco still has problems on Offense they need to work out. Allowing at least 4 sacks in each of their games, and a passing offense currently ranked 25th in the league could be trouble, but It's no secret that the 49ers are 2-0 thanks to a Defense currently ranked 7th in the league. Minnesota despite having two big wins, came against two really bad teams, (Cleveland and Detroit) and both gave them a tough time in the first half. If Minnesota can put together a full game then I would go with them. ButI think the 49ers will come away with this one in a close one.
WINNER- SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS

Atlanta at New England- Lets face it, Atlanta has proven that they deserve to be 2-0, New England should be 0-2 right now. They aren't a bad team, but they are getting older, rustier, and teams know how to approach Tom Brady and throw him off his game plan. New England also suffers from not having good pass protection, And the Falcons are a young and hungry enough team to continue in what the Jets established last week. And that is that the Patriots aren't the big bad bullies anymore, and we are going to put them in their place too.
WINNER- ATLANTA FALCONS

Chicago at Seattle- Fortunately for Seattle, they won't have to deal with Frank Gore this week, but they get to try and take on a Bears team which proved that they can win without Brian Urlacher, and that Jay Cutler is finally getting comforitable in the offense. Seattle will put up a decent fight, but without Hasslebeck, I think they will drop another one.
WINNER- CHICAGO BEARS

Indianapolis at Arizona- Even though the Colts were outplayed in every way, shape, and form Monday night, we are reminded that as long as Peyton Manning is at the helm, every game is winnable no matter how badly you're team has been playing. True Arizona bounced back last week the way they hoped they would, but it was against a very poor Jacksonville team. This will be a shoot out between Warner and Manning, but the Colts have a better Defense that should keep Warner and the Cardinals to few enough points for them to win.
WINNER- INDIANAPOLIS COLTS

Carolina at Dallas- The Panthers, even in another loosing effort last week, are starting to show signs of the team that finished second in the NFC last season. Dallas, though loosing at home in their home opener, was still in a very winnable game against a still very tough N.Y. Giants team. How embarrasing would it be for Dallas to drop two in a row in their new home? If they do I'm sure heads will role in big D, and it might be the straw that breaks the camels back for either Wade Philips or Tony Romo... Most likely Philips. But I'll still give the Cowboys the benefit of the doubt and say they won't drop two in a row at home.
WINNER- DALLAS COWBOYS

Recap- 49ers, Falcons, Bears, Colts, Cowboys

Sure, the Niners are a different team this season, but the vikings have a tough defense and... well... they got Adrian Peterson (that doesnt mean I like Favre!) so yeah, vikings over the niners...

The Atlanta Falcons over the inconsistent Patriots

The Chicago Bears over the Seatle Seahawks, I still dislike Cutler, but I just dont see the Seahawks winning this one.

The Indianapolis Colts over the Arizona Cardinals, the Colts proved to have a consistent defense, they managed to leave the dolphins with FGs instead of TDs, that helped them a lot in the 4th qtr, and they got Manning-Clark.

The Dallas Cowboys over the Carolina Panthers, after a great and strange game against the Giants, even after losing I believe they had a good game, and Romo only gets nervous in big games... this one is not.
