I've decided to split the Guild Questions and Suggestions into two different topics. This will reduce clutter when looking for answers.

This topic is strictly for suggestions on how to improve the guild and make it more appealing to newcomers.

If you have any suggestions at all I urge you to post them here.

BAH!!!! i wrote some then it got erased, ok, take two.

Feel free to use or disregard any and all of them.

1) An OOC thread. You know so we have a place for recruitment, charecter profiles, works in progress, pleas for help and crap like that.

2) Possibly have some workshops. You know, help people get better with there RP skills, maybe teach a few of us how to make those fancy post styles with the borders and such. Stuff like that.

3) Maybe divide the rp sections into beginer, intermediate, and advanced, so there is no confusion as what to expect from a certain rp. Plus, it just looks more, for a lack of a better word, profesional.

again, do what ever you will with my humble suggestions =P

The first one isn't exactly neccesary since people usually just OOC in the RP with (()) but it is a possibility.

I like the idea of the second one but I fear we may not have enough people interested in teaching/learning to created a whole forum for it. I'll post a topic concerning it.

I really like number three. That would really help people to know where they should RP. The only problem would be people who think too highly of themseleves, like the ones who can do no wrong. But that's the reason we have people like Nightlace, Butterfly, and myself.

I'm totally up for number two! (:

And number one is a good idea too.
Separate OOC threads are good, because it keeps the RP thread looking neat and organized and crap. And plus, OOC threads are also used for people to hang and discuss/argue about current plot or future plots.

i dont think you can really ' teach' people how to make pretty posts, i mean, a post is your own thing, be creative with it ya know? cuz there are like 50 bajillion buttons, just try them out and see which one you think is cool.
try to make it your own as much as possible.

i dont think there is a need for number one, from experience, no one really checks it, and we have a chill room to hang out in already

Number two can be useful but not many people will want to participate in it, the thread is going to die off and end up deleted or something, if anyone needs help it would be better if you asked it in the chill room or just pm someone.

Number three i think is not really needed as well, i mean in the short run it is good, but we live in a society where people like getting access to what they want as q uickly as possible,
if there are too many different forums and such, people are not going to check them as much.
If you have a specific level or Rpers you want in your rp, you should just state it in your title or in the first post

that brings up another point. I dont think there should be a beginner, intermediate or advanced section. If the beginners dont Rp with literature rpers, they wont learn, we are a guild and must work together to make this wonderful guild last, that means we have to help each other out. Which also means that no matter what level you are in please post a minimum of 5 sentences, it isn't that hard. Show us that you are dedicated to our guild.

I have run and are running a lot of guilds and many of them died because i tried to make it too organized and people just got sick of clicking 50 links to get to a rp or topic they want to go to.

im not saying your suggestions are bad or anything, its just in the long run it wont help the guild prosper.

I think what we have now is fine, it is well labled and people know where to go if they need something i just think the little blurb on top of the home page turns the guild off for some people, most good Rpers expect people to be serious about rps, not to say there is no fun, but we need to get good, active people in order to keep the guild going.

We should create an Announcement thread in the main forum, titled absent. For those of you who will be gone for a certain amount of time. You must give us a legitamint reason for being absent.

For in active people who do not tell one of the captains, the time for ban should not be that insensitive. I have found that a good time period is 10 days of no posting. Of course if the person pms one of the leaders and explains why they were gone, they should be let back in.

If you are scene locked, you should post an OOC in the thread stating that you are still there, just waiting for someone to post. If your partner does not post for 3 days and they dont say anytrhing, just post again and move on to one of the more active players.

we can make dice contests like

rolling with 6, 6-sided die, if you get a 36 you get x amount of money

rolling 10 100 sided die, if you get anything from 950-1000 you get x amount of money, if you get from 10-250 you get x amount of money.

These are really hard contests, because the probabilities are really rare.

Prizes can be stuff other than gold. Maybe aquarium fish or gift boxes.

( i sent the above to Nightlace in an Rp but we need everyone's agreement to it. )

Quests, i know lots of you guys are questing things, we can have a section where people post what they are questing and maybe someone in the guild will donate or help them out.

i just donated all 300k that i have to people on quests, so i will donate money once i have more t hen 5k x.X

you should also add somewhere that :
-if you are going to invite people to the g uild, make sure they are active.

Actually, it's not buttons, but more like coding. The buttons that are shown are only a fraction of the codes that are available.

And some people actually need to learn how to make them. Teaching yourself is something that one could always do, but not always the fun way of learning how to decorate a post. Having a thread can be good. People can share there ideas and tips. If it dies, oh well...or they can just use this guide. >>here

And whoever said that you have to click links to get to the RP that one is in? Whoever just created the thread can just say...saying something about what the level is...e.g.

The Sky is Falling! (O//A) (Beginner)

Kiss of Death (O//A) (semi-lit. to lit.)

ϩɩɴʂ σғ σʊɾ ϝɑтнəɾʂ (o//a) (adv. Lit)

true true, but i think it is a lot more rewarding when you figure things out yourself haha

i mean, if you have a question, just pm someone! it reduces clutter and PMs are checked a lot more often then threads

what i meant by links is like.. you have to click on my guilds, and then click on your guild, then go to forums, then click on one of the sucforum links, then find the rp then click on it.
i mean you can always make a quick link, but when you have as many rps as i do, it gets pretty cluttered there as well

the level thing is exactly what i meant! whoo!! XP

btw, we should have an event thingy like say a ball? we can have a different theme for like holidays or just something special.

Since there are a lot of rps and we tend to only join those that we prefere, i think a ball type thing would help us all get to know each other, and it allows people to post with out there having too many restrictions.
There can be different settings and such or rooms for people to be in, contests such as best dressed for occasion. Or best couple, for the event and prizes.
One of the themes can be a masqurade and everyon can make a mule, at the end of the event we can guess who the mule belongs to, etc.

WE did this in some of the other guilds and it worked out great.

ex.
Subforum- Event( open) <-- after clicking

topics
- Main hall ( start here)
- The Garden
- Dining hall
- Ball room

first post for each place can be a discription and stuff, the main hall is where people can sign in.

When an event is over you can change the status to closed and lock it, deleting all of the threads to prepare for the next event.
