What happens to be your favorite words to use in essays and stories?
If it's a strange word, what does it mean, so that those of us want to freak out the lesser literary ones around us, are able to.
My newest word is pedantic.
Oh, Tora. Stop being so pedantic.
Pedantic adj.
Characterized by a narrow, often ostentatious concern for book learning and formal rules: a pedantic attention to details.

♪ Non-literary word: Swanctified - adj. meaning cool or hip. Gregory Macguire used the word in The True Confessions of the Wicked Witch of the West....best known as Wicked.
Your the most swanctified person i've ever known.
A line in the musical: What's the most swanctified place in town? "the ballroom of course" Sounds perfect! ♫ Love as thou wilt - Jaqueline Carey

My favourite word right now [believe it or not, it's not 'cause Sira had it in her post, it truly is] ostentatious:
The dress she wore was so ostentatious.
ostentatious: adj.
Characterized by, or given to, pretentious or conspicuous show in an attempt to impress others.
~
[I am going to try and use "pedantic" and "swanctified" as much as I can today. :3]

I'vethought about this long and hard and found that this is the clear winner;
discombobulated
dis⋅com⋅bob⋅u⋅late /ˌdɪskəmˈbɒbyəˌleɪt/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [dis-kuhm-bob-yuh-leyt]
–verb (used with object), -lat⋅ed, -lat⋅ing. to confuse or disconcert; upset; frustrate: The speaker was completely discombobulated by the hecklers.

Pyloctemy - The art of splitting hairs. Although it refers to the physical act, it's a nice way to put the euphemism as well .
