Toby Adam "MisterMage" Pearson was running somewhat late. He had bolted out of the door but a quarter of an hour earlier, but that was 5 minutes behind his meticulously-planned schedule for the day. He only hoped he hadn't missed the bus to the Business District. The bus drivers usually were bastards, especially to Toby, for some reason. Must've been the pink scarf.
Well, or the hairpins. His room-mate always called him 'f**' whenever he wore them. He simply claimed they were good for keeping his hair out of his eyes. But, that moron Paul then retorted by saying 'But your hair isn't long enough to get in your eyes in the first place.' Which he would then agree with and wander away feeling confused about why he wore them.
But that was something that had nothing to do with the here and now. he had been, apparently, one of the only wannabe script writers/idea persons to apply to the recently-founded TV station G-TV. He quickly pressed on to the top floor, where he'd been told to report to the pitch room. So he did. He entered the room clutching his 'book of ideas~' and a free coffee mug that had been thrust into his hands, probably as a good luck or welcome present.
"H- Hello, sirs, madams.." He quickly sobered up. "..And.. Grunny.." She said, somewhat weirded out by the sudden appearance of the small green rabbit-ish thing wearing a posh little number. "Well, then, let's get down to business. my name is Toby Pearson, and I'll be pitching some of my ideas, so, I hope you like them. Um.. Ah, yes. The first one I wanted to start with was..."

Let's History! (Working title) Toby pulled up a screen, switched on the helpfully provided beamer, asked for a laptop, got one and attached a memory stick, which was, again, disturbingly pink. Why in hell did he have all this pink stuff? But that wasn't important now. Suddenly, two folders appeared on screen, one entitled "Pro." and the other "Character Designs". He clicked the second one, and then the first picture.
And insanely-cutesy design of someone that could have once been Julius Caesar if he were zapped with a ray of sunshine and puppies appeared on the screen, and was projected on the wall behind him.
"Now, ladies and gentlemen, if you've all kept abreast of the common trends in the anime business, you must know that Japan has some sort of weird obsession with turning things that aren't supposed to be cute into things that are actually cute. Like countries, and household objects.. Even Operating Systems.
Now, I understand it may be a little far-fetched, but I had the idea of doing this exact same thing to historical figures. Maybe to help children or lonely nerds learn about history. For example, one could easily tell a kid that Che Guevara killed a lot of people, but wouldn't it be easier to swallow if he was, say.." And he pulled up a picture of a pouting Guevara-esque Moeblob, replete with little gorilla traipsing along. "..A cute kid with a gorilla and a speech impediment, who is very, very much into sharing? Or Marx? Why, he thought up the idea that every child should share all their toys, and take the toys off of the kids that wouldn't want to. A little blunt, sure, but we can make it rather subtle if we wanted to. Now, I don't know why my sister decided to draw only left-wing revolutionaries, but here they are.." And a large red ball appeared on screen, and one by one moe-blob versions of Lenin, Trotsky, Marx, Guevara, Castro.. Even Stalin, who had an awesome moustache, all popped up, holding hands.
"There! Instant cuteness points. The kids will love it!" Toby finished, with a smug little grin. Of course, it was now up to the various people assembled in the pitching room to really decide whether the idea was worth its salt.

Tempy sat in his large leather chair uncomfortably. He wondered to himself why this man looked creepily familiar and why exactly the second Vice President hadn't come in that day...or at all since he'd thrown the president and all responsibility to the station on him.
"Wait..." Tempy interrupted the man when it clicked that the deserter in question was exact in appearance to the nervous fellow at the end of the table. "What's going on with you? What happened to your hat, noir narrative, and smoking habit?" Tempy had a sensitive sense of smell, something he'd inherited from his cat ancestors and rarely ever really had any use for at all these days. The man looked utterly confused. Tempy sighed, decided to just go with it, and waved for the man to carry on.
Meanwhile the president decided to chew on the arm of his elaborate brown chair.

Smoking? Noir narrative? What was the cat-eared man talking about? But he had waved it away, so Toby did as well. must've been talking about his cousin or something. "And, now I wish to present my second idea~!" ..Damn, that annoying little sing-song tone wormed itself into some of the oddest moments sometimes.
"A- Anyway, this one has been based off of.. Well, MMORPGs, mostly. But don't worry, this show will not just be about lonely nerds sitting at their computers and grinding for hours! If I get my funding, it will combine revolutionary animation techniques with real-life acting, creating a visually stunning contrast between the almost perfect, exciting world of the game and the dreary, dull everyday lives of the players themselves. Of course, what happens when a terrible disaster happens, and several small guilds and their embers find themselves under scrutiny by the GMs for having caused this? Will they dodge the laws of the game and try to see who the real bad guys are? Or simply RAGEQUIT?" He smirked to himself at the last word.
"Ladies and gentlemen and green rabbits, I present to you:" He said, and a giant logo came up on the beamer. It was a rather large, stylized tree with the name wrapped around it in spiralling, majestic lettering. His sister had always had a knack for that sort of thing. "The Data Towers of Babel. It's a working title." He admitted, sheepishly, and wondered why so many of his ideas seemed marketed to lonely nerds?
"Still, these were my pitches. Please don't feel afraid to completely trash me. Don't worry, I've had it before." He said, smiling.

"Yeah, okay." Tempy declared with a shrug.
"R-really?" The man was clearly stunned by the quick approval.
"Look around. It's just two men and a green rabbit in a large barely furnished office. Why would I turn you down?" Tempy rolled his eyes. He wasn't usually such a grumpy guy, but he knew absolutely nothing about how to run a TV station, or even what was typically on TV. He pretty much primarily read books all day. There was his acting career, but that was entirely improv work.

..What, what? He'd been accepted? Well, spiffing! Totally awesome! Hell yeah! Score one for Toby! Pink scarves rul-.. Moving on.
"R- Really? Wow, o- okay, then! I'll start with plotting out the roughs storyline and character concepts, then. Ah- Thank you for giving me this opportunity." He said, with a grin a mile wide.
"And I promise I won't disappoint! So.. where can I get started? I suppose I'll have to sign a contract now, or something?"

"Contract? Right, we would need something like that wouldn't we?" Tempy reached toward the gunny with the intent of grabbing it, but it hissed, snapped at this fingers, and started to foam at the mouth. "Ah...we'll just leave the president here." He declared and stood. "I would suggest maybe investing in a hat to wear around the office." Tempy noted nervously. "Anyway, we'll just walk down to the legal department. M.M. said that he'd taken care of at least that part." The pretty catboy declared. Now that he wasn't sitting behind a large table you could see that he was very casually dressed. He had on an old rocker t-shirt, some worn jeans, and a pair of red phat sneakers. Clipped to his belt was a blue pet mp3 player that resembled a happy digital bunny in appearance. "After that I'll take you to your office."
"Office?" The man blinked behind big round glasses.
"Yeah, congratulations on being a head writer of whatever. We've got a lot of space." Tempy shrugged.

Alright, then. Invest in a hat? He had one back home, so that wouldn't be too troublesome. Still.. Head writer, huh? Very well. He'd always fancied himself as a superstar writer, globe-trotting and all that. Still, he supposed head writer for his own TV show was a very good start.
The legal department was just a single office for now, and that wasn't even furnished except for a single cage with a.. Very stupid-looking toad in it. Toby was taken aback by this somewhat, but still, he supposed it wasn't the only strange thing about his new working environment.
"Wait, has that frog been.. Lobotomised?" Toby asked, amazement taking control of his voice for what seemed like the third time this day. The cat-boy confirmed. Well, he supposed he had a lawyer to recommend them that was probably better than this frog, even though he was a legal student. But he looked cu- CAPABLE. Yes. Said legal student was very capable. He'd recommend the spot to his friend at his next visit.
And the finally, they came to his office. It simply had HEAD WRITER, SERIES 1. emblazoned upon it. This had been furnished with a simple couch, a desk, some shelves and cabinets, and one network cable. Well, at least it had plenty of room for personalization.
And then the frog hopped into the room, carrying a contract rolled up in its mouth. maybe it was smarter than Toby gave it credit for. The contract was signed easily, and Toby Adam "MisterMage" Pearson had a job. He quickly went home to blog about it, and to urged his subscribers to "Keep an eye on the G-TV site, since my program might air as soon as we get the preparations done~! <3"
And such ended the day of Toby.
And then a familiar face, familiar smell, and familiar grizzled voice entered the compound. "Tempy, my cat-boy acquaintance. I once saddled him with running an entire TV company for a day while I was away being chased by hounds." He said, in his grizzled noir voice. "So, how did it go? My nephew arrive okay? Glasses, loves pink- O, you made him head writer? Geez, I knew I had connections, but this?" M.M. chuckled. "Nah, thanks, pal. You're a real lifesaver Sister would have skinned me like a cat if I'd failed the poor guy. And.. Wait, where did Lobo get off to?" M.M. muttered, while he scanned the floor for the frog.
Yes, MisterMage's day had only just begun, he was afraid. But it seemed the had at least one creative talent on their team. Now all they needed was a couple of actors and a camera crew.. He could probably harangue both of them easily, he concluded.
