どんな日本語の本がありますか。日本語で書いた日本語の本ですか。日本人が書いて、英語に翻訳した本ですか。日本について本ですか。どれが一番好きですか。
What Japanese books do you have? Are they Japanese books in Japanese? Are they books written by Japanese translated into English? Are they books about Japan? What are your favorites?
My list goes something like this: Hayamine Kaoru / And Then 5 People Disappeared (in Japanese; working on translating it into English myself) はやみねかおる・そして五人がいなくなる heart Banana Yoshimoto / Kitchen (in English) 台所 heart The Face of Another (can't remember the author. Weird, but interesting) The Hunter (translated into English by a former professor of mine! blaugh ) The Pillowbook of Sei Shonagon Black Rain Snow Country 雪国 The Tale of Genji (good gods I hated this thing)
...and a few other novels about WWII that were very depressing. sweatdrop The hearts indicate my favorites. ^_^

All mine are translated into English, since I'm not very good with kanji.
I looove Haruki Murakami heart I've read most of his novels. Kafka on the Shore has to be one of the best novels ever written! Oshima is the coolest fictional character ever.
I also love Ryu Murakami's Coin Locker Babies. A very strange novel, but a very compelling one. The characters are fascinating. I've also read his In the Miso Soup, but it didn't really strike me in any special way.
I had to read Banana Yoshimoto's Kitchen during high school. I enjoyed that, as well as the other story that was in the book (I've forgotten the title...)
I need to read more stuff ._. I need to study lots of kanji so that I can read novels in their original language, haha.

読書好きな家族なので本いっぱい持っています。 スペイン語と日本語で書いている本です。
もちろん私も持っています。 好きなのは宮沢賢治の本です。 この作者の『銀河鉄道の夜』が一番かな。 その他にもBL小説の『タクミくんシリーズ』と『邪道』が好きです。 日本語版の『小公子』や『愛若草物語』とかもお気に入りです。
My family loves to read books, so we have a lot of books wrote in spanish and japanese.
I have my own too. My favorite writter is Miyazawa Kenji, and i love his "Ginga tetsudou no yoru" (The night of the galaxy express). It's a classic ^^
I like the light BL (Boy's love) series: Takumi-kun and Jadou, and the books of "The litte lord" and "Littl women" too.
I see that Haruki Murakami and Yoshimoto Banana are famous actual writters. I like Yoshimoto's "Amrita".

Find a random page and just start reading. It open left to right, read righ to left, and down. So you really reading Japanese the real way. I don't know quite enough to read the whole thing, but I am getting there slowly.

The only books I have are textbooks and those are E-J, J-E... Does anyone know where to get Japanese books(books in Japanese)? I've found a movie or two at Goodwill, but Thomas the Train is not something I'd be entertained for long with. biggrin Though, Percy's lisp is hilarious.
