A large, dusty crater surrounded by shops and inns, where people of all types and occupations train to hone their skills. Although these are just practice fights, they are greatly needed in this time of war. Simply walk though the ancient stone arches that mark the entrance and choose your opponent!

So the fighting arena is for fighting other guild members?

Sure, that's what it is as I understand it. Characters can come here to spar and just basically practice new moves and such. In a way that takes them out of context as any and all can spar without their usual prejudices in character.

{Jean ish bored. I believe she wouldn't mind wandering through. I wanna brush up on my guard's fighting style since she ins't too well defined yet. Yuppers.}

Lieutenant Jean Beauclaire passed under the high stone arches, and watched a trio of birds flutter away into the sky. She was armed with her rapier though she wasn't on duty. It would be good to practice honing her skills with the blade, she thought.

Strider walked under the stones with no weapons drawn, but had his full arsenal.
"Hmm, a mere guard, this won't be a challange." Said Strider as he drew his blade. He held the blade to where the sword blade is pointed backward. He waited for her to move.

mrgreen

Hearing the sound of of a blade being drawn, the guard turned in place, her hand already grasping the hilt of the rapier at her belt. Her hazel eyes narrowed but she assessed that even if this man was dressed oddly, he had not attacked her as of yet. His words were mocking but that same sneer in his vice would make him cocky in his actions. She smirked and drew her thin, agile blade from its leather sheath.

"You are challenging me I take it?" Her french accent was quite prounced when she spoke, a chill edge to it that accompanied the bleak smile curving her lips upward. "Alors, en guarde!" She took a fencing stance but even despite her traditional training, she had a few unorthodox tricks up her tunic.

Right as she finished her sentance, he threw 4 throwing knives at here, heading for the arms and legs. He followed it by sprinting at her, ready to strike and the intent to kill in his eyes.

Her opponent wasted no time. She turned sidways to avoid the blades and countered one against her sword before bringing it to bear before her again as he charged closer. One of the throwing knives had ripped a hole in her tunic near the shoulder. She frowned and pointed her blade square at his chest, if he kept course he could just skewer himself and have this done with. She knew better than to trust in this folly and brought her left arm around to pull a long knife from a sheath strapped to her thigh. She flipped it up quickly for a guard against his next attack.

Seeing that she put her blade forward so he may skewer himself, Strider, when close enough, jumped over her, twisting around in midair. When he landed, he flipped his blade forward and slashed wildly.

She sidestepped and parried his blow just barely with the hilt of the knife. She flicked the blade of the rapier up in time to meet his side, but the thin blade lacked the power to do any true damage as if she'd thrusted or brought it around full force. The reach of her long blade was meant to keep a distance between her and her opponent but it was evident the man sought to fight at close quarters unless he could conjure up more throwing knives from midair.

"well, that stung a bit." he said, almost laughing. He rushed at her again, just full run streight ahead, but when he got close enough he pulled a nasty trick. He kicked sand right into her eyes.

Lynn walked under the stone arches of the arena.
"Nice place..." Lynn looked around.
Lynn heard the clanging of blades. She turned her head to see an assassin and a guard fighting. She turned towards them and watched them fight.

The experiencd guard turned her face away as swiftly as she could but some of the fine particles got in her eyes and stung. When she flinched back, she brought her sword up horizontally before her as a guard, but it was useless unless she could see where she was parrying. She rubbed her watering eyes on the back of her white sleeve and blinked furiously to clear her sight.

She was far to distracted to notice that they'd gained an audience.
