Sometime between the lapse of the guild and now, one more fire emblem game was released to the world. Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon: The second remake of the first ever fire emblem game (the first remake was released in Japan sometime before the Smash Brothers Melee era). This game lets you take on the original adventure with Marth and finally reveals his story! Ok, typical intro, discuss, etc.

I like this game. I've been waiting for Marth for quite some time now. I mean they kept him for Brawl, so I was waiting for his actual game and now we have it.

(+) Plus points
-Marth is in it!
-There a lot of characters! (like i think it almost rivals radiant dawn!)
-We get to use some of the original fire emblem archetypes! (cain and abel, jeigan, est)
-the graphics are a compromise between a GBA and a gamecube
-ballistas are now an actual unit rather than a map building
-There is a actually a chance in this game to REVIVE a defeated party member. One revival and one revival only!
-Class Change. Woot! Now I can make my mercenary into a knight! For the lulz! or a peg knight into a myrmidon. or a mage into a shaman! This is actually pretty cool!

(-) Minus Points
-Story is...eh (well it was the first game, what was I expecting?)
-Too many pre-promoted units (once again, first game)
-Marth does not promote, he gets a lvl 30 cap instead
-there is no rescue ability (it wasn't implemented then, so it's not implemented now)
-The fire emblem does nothing!...seriously, all it is is a unbreakable chest key...huh...why was this game called fire emblem again?
-This is the first fire emblem game I've come across where YOU CANNOT COMPLETE THE GAME WITH EVERY CHARACTER IN YOUR PARTY! IT IS IMPOSSIBLE!!!! Why? Because there is a special set of characters added in specifically for this game that you can only get by completing certain chapters with 15 OR LESS in your party...TOTAL! And with almost 2-4 new characters every map, you have to be constantly killing off new recruits so you can reach the special stages to unlock the new characters. That being said, you can complete the story with all the mainstream characters unlocked, but none or a few of the secret characters.

...still is a great game though

Aah, this game is so much fun (though I haven't finished it, haha ;; ).

I do have the say that the lack of the rescue thing kind of irks me, just because my strategy was usually sending healers forward to heal whoever is dying, and then rushing a pegasus knight or something over to rescue them from danger.

Anyone have a favourite character? 8D *loves using a lot of her characters, and ended up maxing out a few early on* I can't recall which though, aside from Wolf. ;; *needs to pick up the game again*

Oh damn it all! You guys are really selling this to me! Ugh.xD

Sadly I still haven't even finished Path of Radiance because my sister stole my TV and I don't have the DS game so I'm living in the Fire Emblem dark ages here, sadly. But it sounds like so much fun and I really want to play it now!

How many characters are there roughly, would you guys say?

*goes and counts* mmm, about sixty, minus seven due to secret or special characters, so about 53.

Damn! That's great! It's really exciting when there are lots of characters. Makes me want it even more ...

Yeees. The sheer number of characters are pretty awesome. I'm disappointed that there isn't any support conversations or anything (granted those were taken out a while ago, I suppose), so you never learn a lot about any of the characters aside from what you learn when you initially meet + recruit them.
