Here's a couple I like lots.

Mark Twain:
A person who won't read has no advantage over one who can't read.

Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear.

Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first.

Don't let schooling interfere with your education.

Well, I've often seen a cat without a grin, but a grin without a cat? It's the most curious thing I ever saw in my life!- Alice In Wonderland

Here are a few quotes I really enjoy:

Here are a few ones I really like:
The difference between the right word and the almost right word is like the difference between lighting and a lighting bug--Mark Twain

We see things not as they are, but as we are--Talmund

I've had a perfectly lovely evening, but this wasn't it--e.e Cummings

Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes, that way when you criticize them, you're a mile away from them. And you have their shoes--Anonymous

There is a theory that states that if anyone finds out what the universe is for or why it is here, it will be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.

There is another theory that states this has already happened. -Douglas Adams (I may not have gotten that 100% right.)

My bugs don't have bugs. -Eoin Colfer

So, even though his involvement with the goblin uprising during this year was to be traumatic, terrifying, and dangerous, it was probably the best thing that could have happened to him. At least he spent some time outdoors and got to meet some new people.

It's a pity most f them were trying to kill him. -Eoin Colfer

You could lock the Gasman in a padded room with a bowl of Jello and dental floss and he'd make something explode. -James Patterson

I'm too lazy to type any more of these.

I love all kinds of random quotes, and I try to put something from my current reading in my signature all the time (sadly, the quote tags don't work in the guild forums)

Anyway, my all time favorite has to be from Macbeth as he reflects on the passing nature of life:

"It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."

However, I also think it's the perfect postscript to anything I say...

"It is not having been in the dark house, but having left it, that matters."

Teddy Roosevelt, quoted in The Alienist, a book about crime, madness and detection in 1890s New York City.

I love my Stephen Fry quotes.
For those of you who do not know who he is, he's a British Actor, Comedian and Writer, and an absolute genius to top it all off (and I'm not exaggerating anything there, he is without a doubt the most intelligent person in all of Britain).

I have one quote in my signature.
Another, more comedic quote that I enjoy is when he was hosting his British TV show, QI, and spoke about Dan Brown saying that his work is "Complete loose-stool-water. Arse-gravy of the very worst kind".

Got to love Mr Fry!

it might not be word for word but its still funny.
