What are your views on it? I'm not sure about the rest of the world, but in Northwest Florida we're having huge issues about it. Two seniors are now on trial for giving their graduation speeches with "God watching over us" in it. I'm sure there was more to the story that I missed however. Now teachers aren't allowed to even say "God bless you" when someone sneezes, or the teacher could be sued by the student if they choose. So, how strict do you think we should have it? neutral

There is nothing in the constitution about separation of church and school. It does, however, state that citizens of the United States have freedom of speech and religion. I see no reason why those seniors are on trial. They were exercising their rights, and they had every right to say, "God watching over us." I don't see why people make this such a big deal. Each person has a right to believe however that person deems fit, whether that's Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Jewish, or what have you. Each person has the right to worship in public...even in the school systems where not everyone will agree with you.

I agree. In my opinion, the constitution is fine, it's the way it's being enforced that's messed up. Granted, some people just take it waaay too far; but I think that as long as no one tries to impose their religion on anyone, whatever their belief may be, I see no problem with people worshiping whatever they believe wherever they want, so long as they respect everyone else's views. One of the bigger problems, I think, is that a lot of people firmly believe that their views are right and everyone who doesn't share them is wrong, but, instead of just leaving them alone, they feel the need to "save" everyone from their "errors". I feel that if people learned to at last be tolerant, if not accepting, there wouldn't be that many problems.
And I think I've gone a little overboard. Again. These situations just frustrate me so.
