Arlus Region
A young woman walks up to the front and begins speaking. "Greetings Ladies and Gentlemen, Welcome to the Arlus Region. Home of both the capital and some of the most famous and largest towns in the Scarlet Moon Empire, Arlus is the most wealthy region in the entire Empire. It is also home to a great deal of history, particularly in its capital, Gregminster, formerly the Holy City of Rupanda while the region was under Harmonian rule, which is one of the oldest cities in the entire country. Gregminster was even built on a Sindar ruin, thus adding hundreds of years of history that is now lost to the sands of time.
As one might expect for a region that houses the capital, the Arlus region is the heart of bureaucratic activity in Scarlet Moon. The region is also economically advantageous to do its proximity to Lake Toran, the major waterway bringing in trade from all corner of the world. The Arlus region also specializes in producing many of the goods for trade, including art, ceramics, wine, and armour.
The area itself is also naturally well protected from invasion due to the high number of tall mountains within the area, yet it is also open to the outside world, via Lake Toran, enabling citizens to get both to different regions of the Republic easily as well as allowing them a quick voyage to international waters and beyond. The waters also ensure that the region has a mild, warm climate, due to the currents that rise off the lake. There also several military fortresses in the area ensuring that Arlus is safe from invasion, including the Kwaba Fortress and Shasarazade naval fortress.
