A swollen full moon hung in the black night sky over the run-off river between Palmgrass Village and Mount Mirage. A few meters from the river's bank, practically on the edge of the desert, stood a small blue plastic tent. The tent swayed in the wind, almost as though it could tip over at any moment. Within the tent, a young blue-haired girl slept, oblivious to the angry winds.
Just outside the shelter, facing the endless desert floated a peculiarly-colored Phantomeon. The blue and purple Pokemon watched the desert warily as she floated, drifting up and down.
'It's okay, Ethy! As long as you're back by morning, you can go wherever you want. It's no big deal. I trust you.'
The words of her trainer resounded in the Ill Will Pokemon's head, before she finally began to float into the desert to explore. Being a Ghost-type, she didn't have to sleep very much. As a result, she often got very bored at night. Her trainer let her roam as she pleased, but she'd never actually done it. Tonight, however, would be different.

Tiberias yawns, stretches, and crawls out of the cave he slept in near to his trainer's house in an oasis in the desert. Gold eyes flicking around rapidly, he shoves a few rocks over the entrance to his den, preferring to keep his treasures safe from prying eyes and greedy fingers. Tail snapping once behind him, he sniffs the air for a moment before picking a random direction and walking purposefully off into it. Sure, his trainer cared about him, but she also knew to give him his space. It was part of their bargain for him joining her family.

Already somewhat into the vast desert, the sand whipping right through her ghostly body, the Phantomeon drifted aimlessly, following the moon in the sky. Her mournful purple eyes, deep as a bottomless well, were trained on the silver orb as her wispy figure roamed across pale sand. Sometimes, she would momentarily concentrate to solidify her tail, making snake-like tracks in the sand.
Suddenly, on the horizon, breaking the land and sky apart, was a small green blurb. Hastening towards it, the Phantomeon realized that it was a jungle-green Drakeon. As she got closer, the Ghost-type was struck with a sudden remembrance. If she was correct, she'd met that Dragon-type once before - in the Eon Labs.
Hoping that she was right, she hesitantly raised a paw and cried, "Ti-Tiberias? Is that you?"

Tiberias blinks, looking up at the familiar voice calling out to him nearby. He felt himself grinning slightly, noticing the Phantomeon he had met on one of his trainer's visits to the Eon Labs to pick him and a few of the others back up from the Lab Techs care. He bows his head in greeting to her, then sits, tail curling around his feet. "A good evening to you, Ethereal. What brings you way out here in the desert?" He asks, tilting his head slightly.

Ethereal gave a smile of relief and floated down to "sit" beside him, her wispy tail wrapping around where her hind legs should have been. Her tiny spiritual fireballs burned brighter as their light reflected on the Drakeon's scales.
"Oh, well.... I don't really sleep all that well at night so I can roam as I please.... and Crystal is just a ways back, by the river. She and I and the rest of the team were traveling around, training, and whatnot earlier," she trailed off as she realized her rambling, a faint blue blush marching across her cheeks, and then asked hesitantly, "Um... what about you?"

Tiberias chuckles slightly at Ethereal's blush, shifting a glance quickly over his shoulder before answering. "My trainer lives out here near an oasis. There's a decent enough cave there that I sleep in. I have the option of sleeping in the small cabin she's built with the others, but I don't. I prefer to have my own place and not worry about things going missing." He tilts his head again, glancing at her curiously before speaking once more. "You know, you're trainer and the rest of her team would be more than welcome at the oasis. Valeria doesn't get out much, aside from getting supplies or to look for more strays to take in. She's got a good heart, that one. One of the few humans I can say I'm proud to know and live with. She doesn't ask us to do what she also isn't willing to do, so, we know that if we fought for her, she'd do the same for us."

Ethereal nodded and then cocked her head to the side, picking up on Tiberias' phrasing. "You said you like not having to worry about things going missing? What would make you say that? Have you had experiences with thieves in the past?"
At his words of his trainer, the Ghost-type gave a gentle smile and replied, "I'm glad you think highly of your trainer, truly. If your Valeria would like some company, I can bring Crystal and the team by. Crystal loves meeting new people. It would be better to wait for morning though? .... I assume Valeria sleeps ...."
She trailed off thoughtfully; it wouldn't be a good first impression to show up at someone's house a few hours before dawn. You could scare the daylights out of them. Or worse, they might think it was a break in and attack. That would be dreadful...

Tiberias chuckles slightly and nods. "Yeah, there are some in the house that are attracted to shiny objects as much as I am. You'll surely notice him when you see him. He's so brightly colored that it's hard to miss him." He thinks for a moment, then grins and shrugs. "She wouldn't mind, really. She's usually awake early in the morning and takes care of the plants in the oasis area. She's trying to cultivate a new type of grass that will survive better in the sand with the lack of rain in the area."

Ethereal nodded and rose from her "seated" position. "I see," she stated quietly, "If she truly does not mind...." With a nod to nothing in particular, she turned her purple eyes back to Tiberias and asked, "Well then, I will go fetch Crystal. Would you like to come with me?"
Crystal was such a traveler at her core, she was used to moving on at odd hours. Ethereal knew she wouldn't mind a new journey and would want to get started right away. The Ghost-type hoped Tiberias would come along with her, if only to lead the way once she got her trainer, but she wouldn't dream of pushing him into it if he didn't want to. After all, he could be tired.

Tiberias grins at Ethereal and nods. "Of course I'll come with you. What kind of guide would I be if I didn't, hrm?" He slowly stands up, stretching languidly before glancing at Ethereal expectantly. "I can even carry things if she needs help."
He had told the truth about his trainer being up at this odd time of night and that she would love some company. The girl was friendly enough, she was just extremely shy about meeting others. That was why she spent little time in the main building with the others and came out to the solitude of the desert. It was where she felt most comfortable and the only one of the group that ever seemed to complain about their location complained about everything and treated the others like dirt, so, that ones opinion was never paid attention to.
He knew Valeria had been working on combining some of the fruits and plants in the area around her cabin and making different teas with them as well. He hoped that Ethereal's trainer, Crystal, enjoyed tea as well.

Ethereal smiled, betraying her joy, and began to drift back the way she came. "Thank you for coming, Tiberias. I'm sure you're a wonderful guide." She flashed him a grin, which looked rather odd on her normally uncertain face, and added, "I'm sure Crystal won't need any help carrying things though. She has Hellion for that.... And it isn't kind to make a guest work, after all."
Ethereal glanced over her shoulder at the pale moon to make certain she was going the right way and nodded, satisfied with her sense of direction.
((If you don't want any more conversation as they walk, I can edit this to just bring them to the tent, okay?))

Tiberias smiles and nods, following after Ethereal, eyes scanning for anything he could use as a landmark for finding the way back to his trainers oasis. He'd never been this particular direction, after all. "Well, if you're sure she won't want any help, I guess I can't argue with that."
Spotting an odd looking cactus nearby, he nods, then slowly walks over to it, making a mark in the skin of the cactus, an arrow, to be exact, that pointed back the way he had come. This would definitely make it easier for him to lead the way back to the oasis.

After a few more moments of traveling, Ethereal spotted a tiny blue blur on the horizon. Hastening towards it, she called, "That's Crystal's tent!" to Tiberias. As she got closer, the blur became recognizable as a small, single-person traveling tent. The creases in its surface told that it was meant to be folded into a small size for easy storage.
When the duo reached the sky-colored tent, Ethereal hesitated, a solidified purple paw on the flap that functioned as a door. Taking a breath to steady herself for what she viewed as an interruption of her trainer's precious sleeping time, the Ghost-type pushed the flap open, holding it open behind her for Tiberias to come in.
Laying on her stomach, her head facing left and using her yellow backpack as a pillow, lay who could only be Crystal, Ethereal's trainer. The girl was of an indeterminable age, somewhere between 14 and 17, and was dressed for the cold of desert nights. Her shoulder-length cerulean hair fell across her white jacket. Below that she had on simple black pants and white socks.
The girl slept peacefully, her mouth slightly open, as Ethereal hesitantly placed a solidified paw on her arm. Shaking her slightly, the Ill Will Pokemon attempted to wake her trainer gently. "Crystal? Please awaken now..."
Turning over slightly, the girl opened cool, gem-green eyes, and groped about for a pair of silver, oval, rimless glasses. Sliding them on her face with a yawn, she blinked at the two Pokemon in her tent.
"So .... who's this fella, Ethy?" she asked sleepily, her right hand absentmindedly going to scratch her head.
Ethereal blushed lightly and tried her best to explain, "This is my new friend, Tiberias. He invites us to visit his trainer, Valeria, in the oasis where she lives."
Crystal nodded, blue hair falling in her face as she pushed herself up into a sitting position. Though tired, she turned her green eyes to face Tiberais, fixing him a rather intense stare. After a breath, she suddenly smirked and twisted around to grab a pair of running shoes behind her.
"I'm not entirely sure what you said, Ethy, but I get that you want me to follow this guy. And I like his eyes. I trust 'im if you do," the girl said simply as she tugged the sneakers on.
Once on, she flicked a Pokeball from her belt, releasing a very cute Kirlia. The Kirlia bowed ballet-style to Crystal, who said simply, "Translate please, Ahiru."
Ethereal repeated her request to Ahiru, who relayed it to Crystal through telepathy. Pleased with the translation, the Kirlia was returned to her Pokeball and the girl began to pack up the tent.
"See? I knew I got the gist of what you were saying," she said cheerily as she ushered everyone out of the tent and disassembled it, "And I'm up for meeting this Valeria." Flashing the two Pokemon a smile, she shouldered her backpack and bent down to shake Tiberias by the paw. "And it's good to meet you, Tiberias. Please guide me well, okay?"

Tiberias, at first, had thought to look away when Ethereal's trainer started staring at him, but, instead, forced himself to meet her gaze. He eyes the Kirlia warily, then blinks as the trainer bends down to shake his paw. He casts Ethereal a somewhat nervous smile, then, nodding to the human, turns and heads out of the tent so that the human could pack her camp up easier to follow him. He sits on the cool sand, tail tip flicking idly behind him as he watches the trainer and her team. "What did she mean by liking my eyes..?" He asks curiously, tilting his head to the side slightly.

Ethereal floated beside Tiberias as she watched her trainer fuss about the Pokeballs on her belt. "Crystal puts a great deal of stock into eyes," she tried to explain. "She says that eyes are the windows to the soul." The Ghost-type nodded to affirm her statement. She hoped that made sense....
At that, the girl turned back to the Pokemon, tapped her right shoe on a nearby rock, and said, "Well, let's go, you two! We're burnin' moonlight!"
