Is it weird that when I'm playing alone, doing my quests like a good little nerd, that I get annoyed when other players help me? I've been perfectly capable of slaying my critters before at levels 3 and 4 when I first saw you, now that I'm a level 11 I don't need your frickin' help unless I ask for it.
I know a lot of people who b***h about this. Lower level toons who are playing the game, doing just fine on their own, and some douchebag at a higher level comes along and pwns your baddie in one kill. Out of the goodness of their hearts? Not really...
I mean, look, if I'm being ganked by five guys at once? And it looks like I'm gonna get my a** handed to me? By all means, HELP. But when it's one on one, or even TWO on one, and I'm holding my own, my health is still relatively high, and the bad guys are losing? Why the HELL do they think they need to come along and steal my killer's high?
And what's worse? Once in a while I have one of those guys that will just FOLLOW me around. Actually, it happened today.
I was on my level 14 human pally, down in Moonbrook killing Defias assholes (ranging from level 13 to 15) and some level 29 a*****e hunter with a cat came along and followed me all through the little town, finishing off all my kills. I was like, "Thanks, now ******** off".
I mean...so it helps me finish my quest quicker, but that's not really the point of playing, is it? I play FOR the quests. I play FOR the challenge. I play because I LIKE to kill s**t. It eases the stress of a long night at work, or a bad day. And when some jerkface comes along and takes all the actually game out of the game? It just pisses me off.
