Now is time for the ultimate question of style that has traveled down the decades.

Do you believe you can be overweight and still be fashion forward? And on the flipside what do you think of being to skinny annd the images of weight in magazines and on TV.

BUT weight is changeable. And this isn't often discussed but what about height?

Absolutely you can be overweight and fashion forward! I don't believe that plus size will take over the runway, seeing as how making sample sizes of 2 and 4 require less material/time/effort, but that doesn't mean they can't be fashionable. Their anorexic/bulimic counterparts, however, are just disgusting to look at. Honestly, why can't we see girls at a happy medium with hips and boobs and no protruding ribs?

And as for height, I've never found it relevant when it comes to magazines/tv OR the runway, it's all about how you use your body size & shape to your best advantage.

Well, skinny seems to be in fashion, so fashion-forward is a little paradoxical; however, I certainly think that an overweight person can be stylish. The difficulty overweight people face is in the sharper angle of their curves which can be difficult to translate into appealing, smooth lines that do not interrupt the flow of the eye.

I think that much of it is a trap to make people hate themselves. Actually, my pastor mentioned this in church today when preaching on the passage in Luke about the demon-possessed man. This man wore no clothes, was a matted mess, and cut himself with rocks. The pastor pointed out from other passages in the Bible that loving oneself is the natural way which had been perverted and drew comparisons to cutting, anorexia, and bulimia.

I think it's tragic when eight-year-olds are starving themselves in order to feel beautiful.

As for height, I think people ought to enjoy the benefits of the height they possess.

One of my friends is one of the best dressers I know. She isn't THAT over weight but she is hitting plus sizes.

However until recently as she got older the selection for people her size sucked. And I talked to my mother about it and until recently it was v. hard to find clothes when you were plus size that were in style so if you wanted something awesome you generally had to make it yourself.

So yes I believe they can I just think they have a lot harder time at it sad

i didnt quiet got the question but i think you can be a good dresser while being fat..its also like being too skinny you look like malnourished.maybe you just have to balance your outfit tweak it a little and maybe you can show them who's who smile so i guess weight doesnt really matter when it comes to dressing..? stare

I think people of any size can be fashionable. I actually think models should be hired by face quality and not size. As for height I don't think it matters, I think short people and tall people could totally model.

I don't think that size is that much of an issue, or rather it shouldnt be an excuse for looking bad. That would be like saying if you're not a size 3 or over 6ft then you don't have to concern yourself with fashion because...well hey there, you're fat and/or short. Believe me short people look just as beautiful in a set of stilettos as a tall one, and we're in trouble if we start letting a scale and dress size determine what is and is not.
