My favourite book genre is urban/dark fantasy...does anyone else like this genre? If so, who are your favourite authors? who would you recommend?
I really like Simon R Green. His Nightside series are among the best books I've ever read. I also like the first 4 or 5 Anita Blake novels by Laurel K Hamilton but after the books got too filled with sex I stopped reading. I also love Jennifer Rardin's books which are sort of like James Bond mixed with vampires...similar to the Anita Blake novels too. I don't like Paranormal Romance though. rolleyes

I like some urban fantasy, Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere is one of my favorites. I also enjoyed the Merry Gentry series by Laurel K. Hamilton.

I love urban fantasy. I like Laurell K. Hamilton, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Kelley Armstrong, and a bunch of others. One day I hope to be right up there with them.

Mmm, urban fantasy. I read this book called TekGrrl the other day and instantly understood and loved the genre. Not that I didn't love it before, but I finally found out what the genre was.

I actually have some Patricia Briggs... somewhere in here... Harlequin has a line of books called "Luna" which is all fantasy and urban fantasy by women authors... not just the romance novelists. Mercedes Lackey has even written for them. I'm pretty sure Patricia Briggs is in that collection as well.
