We all know of the famous Catalog, or "I want to beat Edward Cullen with a Stick."
But see, I like to go further. Instead of limiting myself to descriptions of Edward's beauty (*coughoveronehunderedfiftytimescough*), what about other words? Hee hee.
First on the block: Grimaced. I noticed this a lot. Quick note: I recently got my hands on the PDF, and Adobe has a WONDERFUL word finding feature. Want to see how many times this little fella is used?
1: Pg 22.
2: pg 25. (Three pages...)
3: 44.
4: 59
5: 99
6: 105
7: 107 (Farore help me, two pages...)
8: 115
9: 128
10: 135
11: 141
12: 142 (For the love of Kira, one page after wards!)
13: 150
14: 169
15: 223

...15 freaking times! I do believe we've found another pet word! This is only in Twilight, not to mention New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Canon, Breaking Fail, Breeding Spawn, ect...
I mean, this outstrips chagrin! And what about murmured?

1: 23
2: 25 (...Two pages.)
3: 55
4: 73
5: 78
6: 81 ( Three pages.)
7: 82 (Please, where's a Death Note?)
8: 85 (Seriously. I need one.)
9: 88 (...)
10: 88 (*twitches*)
11: 95
12: 98 (For the love of Nanryu...)
13: 102 (Please, grant her some wisdom...)
14: 104 (Or maybe stop her from writing.)
15: 110 (Kira help me, this is beating grimaced!)
16: 115
17: 116 (*pulls notebook out*)
18: 116 (*starts writing*)
19: 123
20: 124 (Okay, slow illness...)
21: 129
22: 129 (Hmm, slow painful illness...)
23: 134
24: 136 (Illness won't kill her...)
25: 141
26: 148
27: 150 (But it'll leave her crippled nearly beyond repair...)
28: 151 (Then a bus will come...)
29: 155
30: 155 (And will nearly kill her... *looks up* Din protect me, this was two lines down.)
31: 161
32: 171
33: 174 (Will use all money for medical care...)
34: 175 (This is a supreme crime against literature... This counts...)
35: 176 (Maybe a heart attack to finish her? *puts it down*)
36: 189
37: 190 (Wait, too simple... Dangit, my time's up.)
38: 195
39: 206
40: 212 (*facedesk*)
41: 230
42: 233 (*facedesks several times*)
43: 234 (Why isn't it working?! *looks at notebook*)

FORTY-THREE TIMES! Hasn't she heard of the word "said"?! Seriously, it gets annoying noticing it less then a page after the last use.
Argh... I need to go eat some of my sister's birthday cake. Feel free to comment and help.

All pages are from the PDF. Track them down in the real book if you want to, but I don't recommend it. This burned.

*Note: All instructions in my note didn't work. I didn't mean them seriously, either.

Composer Erase it, I have a headache after that... Coffee didn't help either.
Anyway, should I do more? Sorry about the double post, but I think the first one was long enough.

Oh, and I did a quick check. 234 PDF pages, excluding the cover, divided by 43 uses of the word murmured. What does this mean?
About every 5.44 pages, you'll see the word murmured. *facepalms* Real book: 498 divided by 43 is 11.58. Once more... *facepalms*
As for grimaced: 234 divided by 15: every 15.6 pages. For the actual book, 498 divided by 15: 33.2. Think of something else! Don't use the thesaurus, for the love of Malpercio, but be more original! People don't always speak quietly or, to quote dictionary.com, make "a facial expression, often ugly or contorted, that indicates disapproval, pain, etc.".

...You know, on second thought, I think she just used the thesaurus on the wrong words. Instead of using it to describe how "beautiful" Edward is, change how they talk! For the love of Nanryu...
What about grumbling, or whispering, or just plain talking? Mutter, complained if used in the right situation, all sorts of things. But no... 43 TIMES.
Instead of grimace, say forced a smile, have them sigh or shake their head sympatheticaly, or something! This just... gets on my nerves...

...She uses the word "scintillating" to describe Edward's arms. Along with who knows how many different ways of saying beautiful.

Wait...scintillating? Verb: emit flashes of light; sparkle.
I think I'm just going to go crawl into a prop coffin and die now.

I read Hellsing and fanfics. It revived my brain to see the manga and anime...

So, getting ready to dive into these again. Being sick gives me a LOT of time on my hands... Ugh. *sips more tea* About all I can drink right now without my stomach yelling at me.

So, expect more soon!

Welcome back to your favorite forum game (or not.), "Count the Times"!
First on the chopping block: Sighed. Maybe you've noticed this one, too. Just counting how many times people sigh in this book. I sigh a lot, but this.... *shakes head*
All pages are PDF.
1: 9
2: 17
3: 24 (Not too bad, now.)
4: 25 (On second thought...)
5: 29
6: 31
7: 32 (Urgh. Right after another.)
8: 36
9: 37 (*twitch*)
10: 40 (I feel I'm being too lenient right now.)
11: 45
12: 48
13: 50
14: 51 (Really getting annoyed now.)
15: 52 (Seriously?)
16: 58 (Passing grimaced.)
17: 64
18: 68
19: 70 (Can't she have them do something else?)
20: 71 (Apparently not.)
21: 75
22: 76 (Death Note or Alucard's gun?)
23: 78 (One would let me draw it out...)
24: 79 (While the other would be so fun.)
25: 84
26: 85 (Leaning towards the Death Note again.)
27: 85 (Okay, where's my pen...?)
28: 86 (What should happen first? *pulls pen out of pocket*)
29: 87 ( Maybe a fangirl mob?)
30: 89 (Yeah, they'll drive her into the street.)
31: 89 (Causing her to run into a speeding car...)
32: 91 (Which will land her in the hospital. *writes it down*)
33: 91 (I'm feeling chagrined. (Intentional misuse, oh my!))
34: 95
35: 97 (Brain is twitching.)
36: 98 (I don't think a Death Note can even help right now.)
37: 99 (*sips tea slowly*)
38: 102 (For the love of the Composer... It's not even halfway done!)
39: 104 (Headache coming... Lovely.)
40: 106 (Ow.)
41: 107 (Anyone else annoyed?)
42: 109 (I know I am.)
43: 109 (C'mon, think of a TWEWY reference...)
44: 109 (ARGH!)
45: 110 (*slowly raises flamethrower*)
46: 113 (*hand twitches by trigger*)
47: 115 (*starts burning papers*)
48: 117 (Look at the nice fire...)
49: 119 (Don't go out! *fires flamethrower again*)
50: 119 (I wish I could burn these stupid things.)
51: 123
52: 125 (*puts Beatles on*)
53: 125 (Maybe this will help.)
54: 126 (Or maybe not...)
55: 129 (Maybe it just needs to be louder?)
56: 130 (For the love of Nanryu, really?)
57: 131 (C'mon Din, burn all of the series?)
58: 131 (Please?)
59: 134
60: 135 (*curled up on ground*)
61: 138
62: 142
63: 143 (*hugs knees*)
64: 144 (I think my brain is dying...)
65: 146 (On a side note, I found a really weird quote here...)
66: 151
67: 151 (I want to kick a fluffpup right now.)
68: 154 (I wonder what manga essence this would be...)
69: 154 (Dull book, maybe?)
70: 155 (Angry, very angry...)
71: 160
72: 161 (*rubs eyes* For the love of the Music...)
73: 165 (THIS CHAPTER TITLE IS UNWORTHY!)
74: 166
75: 167
76: 169 (*brain makes a fizzle sound*)
77: 169 (*collapses* Need... manga.)
78: 170 (Let this be over soon...)
79: 170: ( Not likely...)
80: 171 (*cracks knuckles*)
81: 171 (My head hurts.)
82: 172 (*facepalms*)
83: 173 (*headesk*)
84: 174
85: 182 (YES, A BREAK! THANK YOU!)
86: 195
87: 197 (Great, there it goes.)
88: 201 (Will we reach 100?)
89: 211
90: 212 (Yes, we probably will.)
91: 215
92: 215 (May the Triforce help me...)
93: 215 (I'm begging here, help?)
94: 216 (...Please?)
95: 216 (Why have you abandoned me?!)
96: 220 (Four.)
97: 220 (Three.)
98: 221 (Two...)
99: 224 (One.)
100: 225 (HOLY GLUBBERFISH ON A STICK!)
101: 226 (I didn't think she used it this much...)
102: 229 (Why... Why?!)
103: 231 (It's almost over... Thank the Composer!)
104: 232 (Farore, give me courage to finish. And why did it reach TWEWY numbers?)
105: 232 (I think I'll need it.)
106: 233 (Really.)
107: 233 (Now my ears hurt... How did I manage that?)
108: 234 (Urgh.)
109: 234 (Oh, come on! This is a good store!)

THANK FARORE, IT'S DONE!
109 freaking times! Even I didn't guess that it would be that high! Seriously, this is getting on my nerves.
Wanna know the average? Every 2.15 pages. *headesk* Need to go do something else. I'll discus if anyone wants to.

I'm sorry. This series can ruin quite a few things, can't it?
...I mostly try and ignore when my brain does that. Otherwise I'd get mad whenever I sighed.

You should count how many times quotes are left unclosed.

Well, I sort of deleted the PDF. It was taking space on my computer up and was causing it to slow down...
If you want, go ahead! I'd like to see that.

-- I never actually read Twilight, tried to get past the first page but it just rotted my brain. Took a lot of Star Trek t.o.s. episodes to stop shaking. :/
