Mission: SUCCESS/FAILURE

Ah. Rome. The capital of the boot-shaped country, Italy. He hadn’t visited the particular country in a while. Missions were set at various locations all over the world, after all. They speckled all the continents. Arashi had visited rural areas, suburban areas, and urban areas. Throughout the years he had been to plenty of locations. Actually, if he could recall, he had traveled to Rome years ago for a mission. He hadn’t quite achieved Death Scythe status just yet.

A sigh and he leaned against the wall of a building that was right across from a chapel. Legs as well as arms crossed, he lounged in the shade as he patiently waited for the assigned pair to arrive. A single blue eye glanced at a nearby clock. It shouldn’t be too long now. They would be hear any minute now.

"It's too hot" Cammi grumbled as she wiped sweat off her brow with the back of her hand for the third time in as many minutes, as far as the young technician was concerned nothing should be hotter than things got at home. She didn't normally mind sweating but right now she'd rather it be from a good fight than regular old perspiration. She also didn't want to risk loosing her grip on Bianca later if her palms became slick. The blonde wanted so badly for this to go well, she was ready to charge in and show off what she and Bi could do. Stupid things like losing hold of her partner because of sweating were not in her plans.

" It's the presence of an atheist amongst holy things." Bianca retorted in a teasing murmur. The scythe girl was equally ramped up to be on their first mission and she kept an even pace with her technician despite her much shorter legs. They were close now, to their first real challenge.

Perhaps when the serious work was over they could explore this place a bit more, travel a bit on the school's dime so to speak. For now though the amber eyed girl's focus was on the large chapel just a few feet away.

The weather wasn’t that bad. Not to Arashi, anyways. Hailing from a country that tended to have humid showers, he could easily take the heat here in Italy. The fact that he was waiting around in the shade also significantly helped him stand the hot weather. Although that didn’t mean he could say he was not sweating, because he sure was. It was just that he was not minding the heat.

For the entire time he had stood there waiting, he had spotted only a few people exiting and entering the chapel. Were chapels always this empty, or was today just a slow one? The young man wasn’t particularly that religious, so when it came to questions like that he was pretty clueless. Keen eyes spotted a pair of girls suspiciously hanging by the chapel and he cocked a head at them. Arashi scratched his head. The pair today was both female, right? Was that them? There was only one way to confirm this.

He eased off the wall and lazily strolled over to the edge of the street, taking care to look both ways, the Death Scythe dashed across. Walking behind him, he then placed a hand on each of their shoulders. “Excuse me, but are you Bianca Harris and Cammi Melville? Because I’m the staff accompaniment you wonderfully forgot about.”

Cammi jumped then flashed the man a grin over her other shoulder as she shifted impatiently from foot to foot and wiped her hands on her pants. "That would be us but we didn't forget you." They'd simply neglected to actually put effort into trying to spot him. As far as she herself was concerned Cammi figured staff help was only going to be needed if she screwed up horribly or something. Shouldn't this guy just be observing and making notes otherwise? While she didn't expect this to be easy Cammi struggled to believe things could go poorly enough that they really would need help.

Bianca bit her lower lip and clenched her fists in frustration. He was touching her and she couldn't do anything about it becuase he was staff. The weapon girl was in no way comfortable with the sudden unexpected contact but she couldn't bring herself to say anything about it right now. For the moment she had to focus on the task at hand even if she was now a bit out of sorts. " We were just looking sir," she murmured not wanting to imply that they might have done anything without permission whether or not that was true.

One of the girls jumped before throwing a grin at Arashi. He grinned back, his visible eye twinkling with amusement. “Is that the case now?” he replied and released his grip on the two girls, deciding to put on the headphones that were dangling from his neck. The answer didn’t have him very convinced, but at least he could now confirm that the duo was now here, on time, and ready to begin the mission.

“Just so you know, next time you get a staff tag-along be sure to check in with them before you start. Because if you end up screwing up big time and we’re not there, you basically end up dying! But that’s not a big concern now, is it?” he lazily drawled with a casual wave of his hand. “Anyways, proceed into the chapel whenever you want. The mission has started.”

Oh yeah sure death was no big deal, they'd just respawn back at the school, NOT. Bianca was not pleased with the mention of death at all. She knew it was a possibility but still, right now her mind was frazzled enough as it was as she recovered from the shoulder touch thing. She had no time to think about that now though as Cammi had grabbed her by the arm and begun to drag her towards the chapel doors. " Gimme a sec." Though Bianca didn't hear screaming or other signs of distress who knew what the scene was like inside. she wanted Cammi ready to fight the minute they were in there.

Cammi paused mid step and waited for her best friend to transform while she held onto her. Palms still a bit sweaty she was grateful for the extra grip the gold decorations that wound around Bi's handle gave. The female technician gave nod to the as of yet unnamed man with headphones then reached out to pull a door open with her free hand and stepped inside.

As her adrenaline level spiked Cammi grinned, she was in no danger of dying, she felt just fine.

Arashi didn’t find death that big of a deal. As a Shibusen student he had never find the concept to be particularly frightening and now that he was a Death Scythe he still didn’t find it to be a topic to worry about. Although the Japanese man could not say what he thought happened when one died, he simply chose not to worry about the future, but about the present. It made it easier to relax (but he was always relaxed, so that wasn’t that much of a problem).

The sight that met them was a usual sight on missions. Their target stood over their victim, too late to stop the murder, although that was not the actual objective. A woman was kneeling down, hunched over the body of a priest as she prayed, his white robes stained with bright red.

Dried blood caking on her slender fingers, she opened her eyes and spotted the two girls. A welcoming smile graced her pale face and she stood up, arms outstretched. “Have you come to pray?” the woman inquired.

"There is no god" Cammi retorted as she advanced upon the murderess. The sight of the preist's blood was unmoving, the technician had bled rivers before and broken bones; this was nothing new to disturb her. The fact that a presumably, becuase you never knew with priests, man was dead however angered her, even if she was an atheist.

The girl's hand gripped tighter around Bianca's handle as she took measured steps towards the white robed woman. Her pale blue eyes were narrowed at the target. She wanted to charge, to feel her legs burn and her heart race as she drove the woman back. Bianca it seemed had other plans and this time she was willing to give them a shot

Taunt her The weapon girl had urged, voice a bit faint inside the scythe, still unable to communicate well from within it. She figured of they would get the bloodied woman to chase them and then ducked into the pews it'd be easier to fight. Neither the mad woman nor Cammi ould have a lot of room to maneuver thier lower bodies but cammi would still easier swing her over the pews and it'd be harder for their target to dodge. .. if the plan worked at all.

She softly frowned and cocked her head at the technician girl. “You do not believe in God?” Santa Isabella inquired with a disappointed shine in her brown eyes. A brief moment to give her self time to mask the disappointment, she replaced the sad look with a small smile. “That is alright. I realize that there are those with another religion or choose to not believe in a god. That is their choice. This is mine.” She grandly gestured towards the inside of the church, pointing out the high walls of colored glass and the many paintings and architecture work inside the building.

A large glint beside the priest, the murderer innocently glanced over and bent down to pick up the weapon she had used to kill others. The dagger dripping red while simultaneously shining in the light, Santa Isabella looked back towards the pair. “Excuse me while I put this,” she held up the blade, “away and clean myself up a bit.” She threw them another heavenly smile.

Taunting wasn't going to work and Cammi had no intention of wasting more time then necessary. She gripped Bianca tighter and rushed the madwoman. No negotiations no changing of clothes, the blonde was not exchanging more words with this psychopath if she could avoid it. She had much longer reach with Bi than Santa Isabella did with her dagger, she'd never have to get hurt.

Santa Isabella twirled around on the tips of her toes, unsuspecting of the technician and weapon. She hummed a song to herself as she began to step forward, footsteps graceful and silent. Hearing the clattering of rapid steps, the rare sound caused her to spin around back at the strangers.

Taking note of the gleam of the scythe, her eyes lit up. “Oh! Do you want to play, then? I’ll gladly oblige!” she said in a sickly sweet tone, brandishing her knife. She took rapid steps backward before darting off to the side and coming back in for a swipe at Cammi.

Sweep Bianca's voice was faint but urgent. A Scythe was not a very good blocking weapon she knew but a sweep would allowed them to perhaps cute to enemy or knock her to the side or perhaps even down. The WEAPON's mind raced in fear and she desperately wished she could do more to help.

Adrenaline pumped through Cammi's body and the girl couldn't help but smile despite the situations. It felt so good and she'd had years of positive association with the hormone. Still the blonde's palms were slick as he used all her might to sweep Bianca left in front of her. Her own feet shuffled to the side as she tired to reorient herself at the same time wanting as much open space to move as possible. It was more instinct than conscious thought though, plans of being cool headed in battle had fled when the blood covered woman had actually attacked her, something Cammi had never really experienced.

Out of the corner of her eyes she watched a smile tug on the lips of the other girl and she smiled back as a reflex. Smiling is always the best thing to do when in doubt. Smiling is always better whenever you are confused. Always face the world with a smile. Little did she know, Cammi was not smiling for the reason Santa Isabella thought she was.

She reigned in her dagger and floated a few steps back, bringing the blade close to her lips and licking it. For the first time since the Shibusen students stepped in, a manic gleam entered her eyes and she truly matched the image of a psychotic murderer. “Hehe. Not bad, Miss!” she remarked with a cool yet animalistic gaze.

With a wild grin she dove in a second time, dagger pulled back for another gruesome swipe.

This time Cammi leveled Bianca sideways and charged. Given the lengths of the scythe's blade when it was flat like that it would be hard to doge and if the woman kept charging she was going to get rammed in the gut, at least that was the plan.

Santa Isabella fell straight into the trap, having caught the sudden shift in the blade a second too late and skidded right into it. Her upper body fell forward, biting on her lip as she seethed. Even as the pain coursed through her body she smiled a creepy smile. “That wasn’t so nice, was it?” she stated and raised her dagger a second time, heading right for Cammi’s neck.
