I know religion's a touchy topic... So it seems that each church teaches differently even though they're the same religion. Windrift and I were talking about the paranormal [demons], and I told him how my friend said "...All 'ghosts' are demons because when you die, your soul either goes to Hell or Heaven. Paranormal, supernatural, they're all the same thing, y'know? It's in the Bible..." Windrift ...All souls ultimately go to Heaven or Hell. Which means, they do IN THE END. But until then, there is an in-between. There are things or people that anchor us here until we are able to leave, even after death. After all, death is merely the deterioration of the physical body, whilst the soul is immortal. But since the soul cannot really survive in this plane, they hover between the physical and ethereal, as a ghost or spirit. Also, the Bible? Really? That thing has been passed around between the hands of the good, the evil, and the undecided, and been edited so many times over the centuries, it has no meaning anymore. What matters, is God's word. Not some old, crusty writings we, who are flawed, have written and have twisted towards our own mad ends on innumerable occasions. =/ So is the Bible still a good source? Do you believe in the existance of the paranormal and supernatural? [There's a difference.] Tell me what you think about this.

Considering that a.) there are more documented texts concerning the bible than there are for Julius Caesar's Gallic Wars, and b.) it has spawned ultiple, long-lasting faiths, I'd say yes, the bible is still a good source. Of course, personal opinion and discretion come into it as well.

Yes I do believe in the existence of the paranormal and the supernatural. I believe that there is life somewhere in the galaxies and I believe that people have different talents like esp etc. Ghosts and spirits I also believe in.

I don't think it's as good of a source as it was back then.
It's been translated from language to language so many times.
In the King James bible, there's a mention of a unicorn that isn't in other versions.
I'll quote it and post it here when I can find it again in my bible... >.>;

willowgothika i looked up quite a lot of sites on the net and found that most of them said that there are only subtle differences between the two. What were the differences you found? :0

Looking for some of the sites I'd looked at before, I came across this: Quote: Paranormal has to do with human abilities beyond the five normal senses (vision, hearing, touch, taste, and smell). In other words, they are attributed to belonging to some other source than human, such as spirits, demons, gods, etc. Often they are used interchangeable, though strictly speaking they are NOT the same. Then this: Quote: according to 2 online dictionarys Paranormal means that it is beyond the range of scientific explanation. Supernatural means 1) being beyond the natural. 2) pertaining to God or other deity. 3) pertaining to ghosts, goblins or other unearthly beings. So it seems they are not quite the same. Basically Paranormal relates to the scientific understanding of a phenomena or being, where supernatural directly describes the being or phenomena.
