There's no use denying it, we've all read a terrible book or two that we've know was just awful and yet still loved it. Well, here's the place where you confess to you guilty pleasures!

My guilty pleasures are...

* Any terrible romance with lots of sex and violence (not necessarily at the same time rolleyes )
* "My Immortal" a Harry Potter fan fiction by XxxBloodyTears666xxX aka Tara Gilespy
* "Bleed It Out" a Twilight fan fiction by Bambi666 (I think she's Tara in disguise.)

So, what are you're guilty reading pleasures?

Well, being a big, strong, and allegedly macho guy, it would have to be various paranormals I've read, especially the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton. I admit I was too ashamed to bring some of them into work because of the lurid covers.

I like watching Youtube readings of my Immortal. They're soooo bad and after about 30 minutes of it, all the thoughts of cutting myself, putting out my eyes and throwing up my organs goes away. Plus it bothers my husband *evil laughter*

The Catcher in the Rye is also fun to read aloud to my husband. It makes me giggle hysterically when I read it really fast, without any kind of pauses for punctuation. The author likes to say "I sort of" a lot. Like, "I sort of looked at the elderly man and sort of knocked on his door." Imagine things like that a few times in every paragraph. My husband wanted to strangle me after about 10 minutes.

I could never read these books seriously though. I would go crazy first and my ability to use mostly proper grammar and spelling would forever be damaged and beyond repair.

My fiance and I read bad fan fictions to each other in bed. We both laugh so hard we have no energy left for sex.

The 'goth' comics, like Gloomcookie, Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, and Lenore. I don't read them any more, so I don't know if they'd count as guilty pleasures, but I'm still mildly ashamed I own them.

The Oz series. They are so childish but I love them so much. I like the raw imagination that went into them.

I'd have to say The Percy Jackson Series. I was looking for something simple and funny and came across it. I've got the whole series that's published so far.
A good deal of my guilty pleasures are young adult books such as the above.

I'd have to say the reason is because the amount of imagination that has to go into them. Sometimes fantasy novels for adults, the authors somehow tend to loose their imagination and go for the recycled bits. Elves, vampires, etc'.
No one tends to reinvent them now a days. though I suppose that's harder to do these days.
