My Love
Story
The King of Veera, for his deeds to the Zurah, was granted a single wish. The Great King demanded, "Immortality for my Queen and I!" to which the Zurah replied, "We can grant but one of you Immortality."
After some thought, the King decided on Immortality for himself. The Zurah granted the King his wish, then disappeared from history. The Great King ruled for the next 44 years with the Queen by his side, until one day she fell gravely ill. The Great King sent out a plea to the people of Veera. "To he who finds a way for my Queen to be by my side for all of eternity, I will grant a single request." For the next three years, hundreds of people flocked to the Capital of Veera with ludicrous methods as to how the King could live forever with his Queen. However, none worked and no one was granted a request.
Not until the Queen was on her death bed. A frail old woman approached, claiming she had a solution to the Great Kings trouble. The old woman turned out to a Kus'tha, a Witch of the East. Ordinarily, the Witch would have been burned, crushed or drowned, however, the Great King was desperate. . . The Witch proposed a spell through which the Queen's soul would be removed from her body and stored in a doll. The Queen's body would die, but her soul would live on. Then, when a proper host could be acquired, the Queen's soul would be transferred from the Doll to the new host. Satisfied with this remedy, the Great King agreed to grant the Witch her request.
The Witch replied, "I will return one day when I am in need of your aid. It is then I shall collect my one request." The Great King agreed and the witch was on her way.
For the next two hundred years, the Great King fell slowly to corruption. With time, those who had loved the Great King's lives had come and gone, leaving behind them a new generation who witnessed the Great Kings decent into madness. Taxes skyrocketed to fuel the Queen's luxurious lifestyle. Crops were levied to supply feast in the King's name, in honor of his everlasting love. Woman were harvested, one ever 35 years to become the King's new Queen.
For many hundred years, this was accepted as the Way of Veera. It was considered to be a honor to be chosen as the Queen's new vessel, even in a time where there was such hatred for the King. During these many hundred years, Fathers, Brothers and Lover's simply let their woman slip through their fingers. . . However, this was all about to change.
A young man of no great significance loved a very beautiful young girl. Her hands were worn, her face was dirty and her hair was untamed, but still, her beauty shined through her imperfections. A by some stroke of luck, the parents of the young man and the young girl has arranged their marriage, so they might share their love for all their days. With a marriage on the horizon, a farm under construction and a love so intense Death itself could not break it, tragedy struck.
One of the King's scouts found the girl. He noted her potential beauty, sketched her likeness with impeccable skill and returned to the Kingdom mere days before the Selection Ceremonies. Normally, the King and Queen would have weeks to discuss the next host, and on rare occasion's ventured out to meet the candidates. However, at first sight, their minds were made. They would have the girl. The Great King sent out Riders to collect the new vessel. The Riders arrived a hour after sunset, and their knocking shock the family from their slumber. When the girls Father opened the door and saw the Great Kings seal, he called out to the girl and told her to run. The Riders tried to force their way in, but the girls father refused to move. He put up a fight, but barely saved the girl but a few moments before he was struck down. The girl fled from the back exit and her mother next took a stand. She put up less of a fight and was knocked unconscious. The Riders then took after the girl. She had barely made it twenty feet away from the house before she was scooped up and carried off into the night.
The next morning, while the young man was in the field tending to the crops the girls distraught mother arrived. She told the young man the events of the night before and without a moments hesitation, he took to the stables. Without a second to spare, he mounted his horse without a saddle and rode off towards the Capital City. He knew full well he wouldn't be able to hold pace, let alone catch up to the King thorough bred steeds, but he didn't let that stop him. Nor would he let the Marshes of Askar, the Rolling Hills of Navari, or the ancient Necropolis stop him. He would reach the castle, save his bride, and ride off into the sunset! Or, so he hoped!
Rules
Lets get a few things clear. I don't make man rules, and for that reason you will abide.
.:: 1 ::. No God Moding, puppeteering, auto-hitting, metagaming, etc, etc. The basics.
.:: 2 ::. Romance Violence and Cursing are fine in moderation. Again, Roleplaying 101.
.:: 3 ::. Character profiles are to be filled out exactly as specified and PMed to me titled, "Unstoppable".
.:: 4 ::. Try to follow the main quest/story line. The primary objective here is for the young man to find his bride before the Queens soul takes over her body. Time is of the essence. For this reason, don't come in here with some sappy bio and try to make everything about yourself.
.:: 5 ::. If at all possible, try to make you character original. I will be posting a few different races, so lets have a little variety. No half-breeds.
.:: 6 ::. I'd like for everyone to at least muster up a paragraph. It can sometimes be difficult to reply to short post, however, sometimes only a few sentences is necessary.
.:: 7 ::. Enjoy yourself!
