It's kind of like adding to a story. The more you do it the better at you are

Yup, everyone has their own way, and the more you do it the better you are.
I had gotten into role-playing only about two or three months ago, myself. If you look at "Tokyo's school for Half Breeds", and compare it to my new rp "United Hearts" then you'll see the difference. I've went from posting just a few lines to posting as much as 4+ paragraphs whether small or huge. It's a good thing to get into Barton Town OOC, and see the information that they have there. It definitely helped me, and I'm hoping to get better at rp in time. Although, I'd hate to be an elite! Yuck! That would like the house that illumates an entire neighbourhood on Halloween night! xP
Pretty much just learn from wherever you can, and go for whatever floats your boat in role-playing. (I know, I'm sooo late for this but whatever... Teehee.)

Hey everyone! sorry I'm late to the thread. sweatdrop Kameron-Anemone is right, it's all about practice makes perfect and don't be afraid to try your own style and tell things a little differently. I was once invited to a RP schooling guild where competent Rp-ers were allowed to 'tutor' the people that wanted to hone their skills; however that seemed a little too formal really, given the context of what was actually going on. (Teaching people how to tell a story seemed a bit patronising to say the least.) It's best to learn by doing really so you could take a look at the other threads and build your own style from the examples there.Draculas-Mistress I can't remember my first rp... My first RP post was on this guild eek Somewhere... ninja lol

I've read that no one can teach another how to write fiction... (I'm taking a Creative Writing course, and my teacher seems to like my writing somehow.) The teacher really doesn't "teach us", she gives us what we need to know, what we need to do for each assignment and leaves us to our work... (Although, she loves to chat.) The only other thing is getting in front of our class, and reading our work. (It's lots of fun, and we even get some smaller little bits of time to read our work to our class groups. --4U/4C.)
Ah! I've been rambling. x.x Anyways, how CAN someone teach fiction writing? o.o I can see someone teaching the English language, however. Grammar, spelling, punctuation, and the other components of writing. Yes. Fiction writing. Not so much. x___X

That's true. It just takes practice to get good at it
