[ ]Overall Appearance xxxx :: Rune at first glance has a childish figure and face, so often isn't taken as a young woman almost in her twenties. A slight frame, and less-than-notable bustline hasn't helped her attempts to radiate maturity either. In her younger years, her hair was long, though she cut it to at least seem a bit older than twelve. Her usual attire is uniform; literally. With a job in the palace as one of the uncountable servants, she wears the same garments as the rest of the women who share her occupation.

A long-sleeved black dress, which on the rest of the staff comes to the knees, comes down to sit at Rune's calves, due to her preteen figure. (The skirt of the dress is pleated at the waist, to make it fuller at the bottom.) There's a white full slip underneath the skirt to give it more shape and spread out the fabric of the skirt, though unless the dress is blown up the slip can't be seen. The cuffs are white, folded up and buttoned while the collar is folded down and buttoned as well, similarly to a dress shirt. Though the black dress on its own is plain, a white apron adorns the front. The upper half of the apron has a low square neckline, as the inch-wide straps go over the shoulders and cross at the back, to join in the knot in the back that includes the waist straps, to keep the apron on. (The knot is often tied into a bow, though if Rune is running late, she's often scolded for leaving it as a messy knot.) The bottom half of the apron covers 3/4 of the front of the skirt, with square edges, and straight line embroidery following the edges. The waist strap of the apron runs across the front as well, to seemingly split the two halves of the article. Under the dress are simple black opaque stockings, and one-inch heeled black leather shoes, which were included with the uniform. Over the shoes are white spats that come just above her ankle.

When not in her uniform, all of Rune's clothing is standard. Long skirts, dresses, cloaks, etc.

[ ]Weapon xxxx :: At the moment, it's just an oak rod, tall enough to be a walking stick. The head is curled like a vine with a small translucent crystal embedded into the wood.

[ ]---------- I n t e r n a l xx F e a t u r e s ----------[ ]

[ ]Relationship status xxxx :: Single -- Though I-I wouldn't mind finding someone.

[ ]Personality xxxx :: Rune is a cheerful girl with a naivety that's only rivaled by her cooking. She has a heart of gold, simply because events in her life have yet to tarnish her kindness. She's shy, and tries not to fraternize with strangers only because she's the type to crack under pressure, social pressure or otherwise. As much as she's nice enough to lend a helping hand to those who need it, strangers often scare her. Not only because of the obvious -- that she doesn't know who they are -- but also because she always feels small, smaller than she usually is. Rune is a bit self-conscious when it comes to her size. Her family isn't one made of tall, statuesque people, so she knows where she gets it from -- but large men, like Knights and soldiers, with their muscle mass and mass in general intimidate her quite a bit.

Being a healer, Rune can actually be quite intelligent. She is, however, a prime example of the difference between 'common sense smart' and 'academic smart'. Books, spells, mathematics, histories, Rune can do quite a bit when it comes to pencil and paper. She doesn't think sometimes, however, so her actions can be clumsy or often get her into trouble. A good girl at heart and an optimist, it doesn't take long for her to make friends, once she sums up the courage to talk to new people. She also gets lost easily, being new to the capital city. The area she's used to navigating wasn't even a quarter of St. Daeis, so she's been having trouble with that, as well. That won't stop her from trying, though! She's a hard worker, and certainly one to please.

[ ]History xxxx :: Rune came from a very average family, in a very average village on the western coast of Wistera. The village was pint-sized when compared to something say, the size of St.Daeis, what with a population of 245. (246 if you count the newborn to the family down the road.) The small cottage-esque houses were located within a valley; mountains on either side, with the shores just a stone's throw away. Though since they were closer to the rougher parts of the beaches, fishing wasn't common. The town was one for mining, with a gold vein in the cavern not even a mile from town. Though the vein could've made the town large and rich, the miners of the town sold the gold simply only to make an honest living. A very down-to-earth place, not wanting to take too much of what was given to them from mother nature.

Rune's has a family of four: Her parents and her sister Laruna, senior to her by four years. Her father was the doctor of the village, having used to live in the capital and studied medical arts and small amounts of healing magic in the capital, before moving to the village after to settle down with his family. Her mother simply worked as his assistant, and would usually take the sisters out to gather herbs or small crops that grew sparse on the mountainous plains. So it was no surprise when it was found that both sisters were gifted in healing arts. Their father jumped at the opportunity to teach them what he knew; simple spells, medical concoctions, the whole nine yards it took to take up the occupation of a healer.

When war broke out on the Kes'sarian border, that little village between the mountains wasn't spared by the drafting. A few young men left home to join the army, and the commanding official requested that Rune's father go as well. They were in need of medical assistants on the front lines. Needless to say, none of her family were too keen on her father being on the battlefield, even if he never went farther than the medical tent. To spare their father from the danger, Laruna opted to take his place on the battlefield. She was almost as skilled as him, and would certainly pull her weight. It didn't seem like that much of a problem, so the official accepted the offer, and Laruna was to be shipped out as well.

Rune was -- as anyone would expect -- devastated to have her sister go to war. Laruna was her best friend as well as her sister, and had taught Rune how to stand on her own two feet. Rune cried and cried to Laruna, asking her not to go. Laruna simply shook her head in response, and explained a few things to her younger sister. Laruna was going to leave soon enough anyhow; her boyfriend was going to find a job in the capital city, and she had planned to go with him. Their parents knew about all of it already. Laruna had even organized a job as a servant in the royal palace by sending letters. Now that she was being shipped out, though, she couldn't possibly take the job. And her lover was being sent out as well, being one of the few young men drafted, so she was confident with her decision. So, Laruna asked Rune to take her place in the job at the palace. Rune wasn't so sure about leaving home, let alone working for nobles and royalty. But it was a request from her sister, her idol and influence. And Rune wanted to be just like her: kind, confident, strong, beautiful, the kind of person that people are just drawn to. Maybe going out to the capital would help her grow!

After a few final good-byes to her parents and her friends in the village after her sister left with the soldiers, Rune hopped a caravan and paid her way all the way to the capital. Her supply of money was small, though her father had given her some small pieces of gold he had gotten from the miners, as a 'just in case' if her funds ran out. That was about two weeks ago. Rune now works in the castle, constantly being harped by the head mistress of the workers to run around either the castle or the town to do things or clean things, or anything that everyone else is too busy to do. Hopefully though, she can work her way up the 'food chain', as she's come to call it.
