Being in the library was a rare situation for Z, and he was pretty sure it wasn't much better for Lucien, who was scanning through the spines of the books on the shelf beside him. They were looking for just one particular book, but it was turning out to be damned hard to find. If it hadn't been quite so important, neither of them would be here, but they needed this information, and this was the only place to find it. Not that they were supposed to be here at all, but... they'd gotten in, so it was fine, right?
Z stood alert, eyes scanning left and right as Lucien continued his search. A sharp intake of breath indicated that they'd found what they were looking for, and a quick glance down showed Lucien slipping the book into his book satchel before standing up as if nothing had happened. The two shared a look before they both turned, quickly striding down the aisle towards the unrestricted section of the library as if nothing untoward had occurred.
Once there, the two lingered, browsing through the shelves as though looking for other things - they had a perfectly good excuse even though it was unusual for them to be at the library - such as the project they had due tomorrow. "How much longer do we have to be at this for?" Z muttered the half-complaint under his breath, as he noted others in the library watching them with quizzical expressions on their faces. Z wasn't usually welcome here, for reasons best left unexplained, and he was getting rather antsy at being forced to remain.
"Just a while. Don't look so much like this is a trip to hell, Z." Lucien's response was tart and short as he flipped through the books, finding rather interesting material, though he'd never admit it.

After having to go through a lot of tedious school orientation business and first classes that mainly consisted of thereof, the last place Isztivan would have thought about going to afterwards was the library. Something he was being dragged into by Dominique. Though he wasn’t exactly sure what or if anything he wanted to study up on, being new it’s not like they had had any serious class subjects to look into yet, or homework at all for that matter.
Next time he noted to check if his partner was a workaholic before he agreed to anything. Especially carrying to ever growing stack of books Dom was collected as he went around the library getting anything he thought seemed interesting. A number of them where books on studying how souls worked in conjunction with each other and weapon family genealogy.
“Do you really need all of these?” He pouted, which was hidden behind the pillar of books he was carrying.
“Excusez-moi? You need to read these too.” Dominique’s tone being a lot more demanding than usual, Isztivan might have been his techican, but when it came to study work, Dom was the on in charge. “I thought we were partners...”.
“We yeah but...” Isztivan stumbled over his words, Dom was giving his puppy eyes.
“C’est bein”
“Stupid effective guilt trip” Isztivan glared in various directions that weren’t where Dominique was, school work sure seemed to make him happy.

The books were getting beyond boring and into dreadful, but Z knew better than to try and rush Lucien, especially since the other had his nose stuck deep into a book. The WEAPON's fingers brushed lightly over the spines of books in the bookshelf they were currently browsing, half using touch rather than sight to read the titles. It wasn't that he disliked learning - he did, when the topic was interesting - but books were always a constant source of irritation to him. Why couldn't information be transferred through example, or speech?
The sound of voices approaching reached his sensitive ears, distracting Z from his thoughts and causing him to go quickly onto alert. He had better control than to tense, but he smiled slightly, relishing the slight rush that gave him before realizing that it was really no threat at all - just a pair of fellow students that seemed to be... was that french?
Curiosity caused him to look up from the bookshelf he was pretending to browse, finally settling on two figures and a stack of books. Lifting his elbow slightly, he nudged Lucien to catch his partner's attention, diverting it from the book currently in the other's hands. A quick glance showed a few words: Myths, Witches; Z resisted the urge to shudder before Lucien looked up questioningly. "There's people." The words were quiet, but they caught the TECHNICIAN's attention all the same.
Lucien kept a finger in the book to mark the page as he flipped it closed, putting a genial smile on his face as he took a few steps forward. It appeared that his partner was going to take the "when in an unusual position, take the initiative" approach to the situation. Tongue held lightly between his teeth, Z followed, stepping up just in time to hear Lucien's "Why hello! SHIBUSEN isn't such a big school, but I don't believe we've met. I'm Lucien, and the guy glaring violet daggers at everything behind me is Z." Shifting the book to his left hand, Lucien stretched out his right, the book satchel swinging naturally from his shoulder as if it always belonged there.

"This stuff is heavy you know" Isztivan was now struggling to cope with the weight of the stack of books that how hid his face from view his knees half buckled. Dom removed a few of the ones at the top and put them under one arm, but they where just enough so that now Isztivan could now rest his chin on the cover of "The Legend of Excalibur".
"Oh" He sort jumped a little, fumbling with the books as he nearly dropped them in the process, having not seen Lucien or Z. "Desolé..." he apologised quickly. "H-hello..." Any control or authority there was in his voice was quickly lost as Dominique quickly reverted back to his usual timid shyness in the face of new unfamiliar people.
A grin spread over Isztivans face, partly from a guilty joy he got from seeing Dom back to his usual self and not bossing him around, and because now maybe he could worm his way out of all this.
"I'm Isztivan and he's Dominique" He nudged his head in the right direction since his arms where quite busy. Dominique blushed, and avoided eye contact, well, it was better than usual, normally he'd have been in weapon mode right now.
"Enchanté" Dominique shook his hand in the silence that had ensued.

Z shrugged at the label Lucien had attached to him, pretty sure that it had been correct. He didn't feel hostile, exactly, but his annoyance at being stuck at the Library probably showed. He sensed a similar feeling emanating from the boy who had spoken first, Isztivan, and instantly felt a minor sense of kinship. "Hello." If nothing else, he could at least manage a credible greeting, right? Stepping out from behind his partner, Z cocked his head to glance over the list of books in the boy's hand. "Looks like you've got quite the study party planned there. Why Excalibur?"
With Dominique's hand in his own, Lucien considered the pair, allowing the names to bring forth whatever rumors and information he had gathered about them to come to mind. Dominique was french, complete with the accent, and seemed to be extremely meek in comparison to his usual WEAPON form. But looks were deceiving, as Lucien well knew.
Letting go of the hand after a brisk shake, Lucien decided it was perhaps worth the effort of getting to know the pair. It never hurt to know everyone at the school, and even though he knew things about people regardless of whether he'd met them or not, it was always better to get first hand experience. "It's nice to meet you! If you are studying, perhaps we could join you for a bit as well? I know school's just started and all," Lucien flashed a charming grin as if he hadn't just tossed Z into his own virtual hell, "but it never hurts to prepare, right?"
At his partner's words, Z turned his head, though his expression was bland as his violet eyes met Lucien's sharp green ones. The move on Lucien's part hadn't been unexpected, in fact Z would have been utterly surprised if it hadn't occurred, but it didn't mean he had to enjoy it. And at the very least, his partner could have left him out of the invitation. Suppressing a sigh, and noticing the amused glimmer in Lucien's eyes that showed his technician knew all too well exactly what Z was thinking, Z nodded with as much enthusiasm as he could muster - which was very little. "Yes, lets. I think," Z truly had to think at this point, since he rarely frequented the library, and never once had he studied here, "that there are some study areas over there." A vague wave of his hand down another aisle indicated the location.

“Hiya” Isztivan replied already giving off a much friendlier aura than Dominique was portraying. He looked down at the book he was now propping his chin on after Z’s comment, only now noticing what it was, he offer only a shrug and a quick tilt of the head over the Dominique to silently say “I have no idea, ask him”.
As far as Isztivan knew, these two were also newbie’s to Shibusen, he hadn’t been here nearly long enough himself to know any rumours about anyone in particular. Dominique had a vague inkling, what with all the time he’d spent waiting on a Tech. Something about a shop came to mind, but it didn’t sound savoury to his innocent outlook on things. Maybe it’d be best if he didn’t get involved.
Dominique was still a little flustered, broken from his hold on his partner. He nodded politely as Lucien talked, he didn’t seem so bad if he wanted to study as well...Z and Isztivan appeared to be sharing the same grimace. “Oh, yes...I just...”He cut off, not really sure what to say. He didn’t mostly didn’t want company for the moment, but he politeness and desire to not upset anyone prevented him from telling them to leave.
Isztivan nudged Dominique along with his side. “C’mon, you wanted to study right?” He sly smirk purposely hidden from view, if he could turn this on his head, he gladly would.

Noticing, but ignoring, Dominique's obvious discomfort at being roped into a study session with strangers, Lucien nodded enthusiastically before leading the way, stepping in the direction that Z had indicated just previously. "Well then, if it's all decided, let's go!" In his mind, he was going through the topics of the past week's lessons in his head, trying to match the titles in the stack of books Isztivan was carrying with possible topics from class to find a suitable item for discussion in order to prolong his meeting with this new pair.
Emerging from the tall aisles of books, Lucien looked around, half expecting to find the exit to the library (it wasn't above Z to do such a thing as a joke) but pleasantly surprised to find that it was, indeed, a study area. There were a row of doors set into the far wall, each leading to a smaller room with desks and hard chairs for group study. The chairs were purposely hard - softer, more comfortable chairs led to sleeping students, and there were other places for that.
Eyes settling on one that appeared empty, Lucien picked up his pace with a muttered, "That one looks good," before reaching the semi-closed door.
Z fell into step behind Lucien, though he stayed close to Isztivan and the stack of books. The books didn't interest him, but he figured that perhaps if he could team up with the other boy, perhaps they'd have a chance of getting out of this place earlier rather than later. A faint smile touched his lips as he quirked a brow at the boy with his chin still resting on the cover of "The Legend of Excalibur". "Any ideas?" He didn't need to elaborate - he was asking for ways to get out of this whole mess Lucien had dragged them all into, and he was pretty sure that the other would be able to pick that up without further prompting and risk the chance of alerting Dominique and Lucien.

Dominique made a short lived motion of protest, which could be summed up by him squeaking just as Lucien irrupted him by deciding by himself they were all going to study together. He easily got flustered, that had been one of those moments, and it was difficult for him to recover from it, and since he was sent into silence, it’d be a great deal harder for him to pluck up the courage to say anything. He was beginning to regret getting so many books, as far as enthusiasm for school work went; it looked like he’d met his match.
The pair followed Lucien who’d by this point completely replaced Dom as “Study leader”, though they stayed quiet, either of the two knew their way around and it was probably better to leave him to it.
“It does” it’d be rude if he didn’t say anything, even if he was uncomfortable. Isztivan and Z might have made good partners had fate played out differently, they were certainly on the same wavelength right now. Isztivan definitely didn’t need any further information when prompted by Z on what to do next as he had indeed hoped he would. He could only offer a shrug for now. Admittedly, it had been a bad idea to tell Dominique that he had nothing to do that afternoon.
“These two meeting was a bad idea” he put one of those tilted sarcastic smiles.

Laughing silently in his head as he took Dominique's faint "It does" at face value, Lucien pushed the door to the study room open the whole way before taking a step back, deftly avoiding colliding with anyone (or any books). One hand swept towards the room in a slightly mocking grand gesture as he grinned. "After you guys!" At least this way, he could ensure that all his reluctant little ducklings entered the room without managing to escape. Though his entire demeanor followed with his overenthusiastic performance, there was a twinkle in his eyes that suggested he was thinking other thoughts as his eyes met Z's and his WEAPON frowned slightly.
He waited until everyone had filed through before flicking the door closed, leaving a slight gap. These rooms were generally a bit stuffy, if he recalled correctly, and he also figured that perhaps his newly roped-in ducklings would feel a little bit better if there was at least a semblance of freedom in this entire 'study session'.
"So..." Lucien picked out a chair, pulled it out, and sank down in one smooth motion, "Was there any topic you guys were planning to study in particular?"
The glance that Lucien had thrown at him before purposely setting it up so that they would all have to enter the room caused something in Z to rebel, though he suppressed it, for now. Causing a commotion by leaving was the last thing either of them wanted at the moment, especially considering the contents of Lucien's innocuous-looking book satchel. So he tossed Isztivan a rueful shrug as they filed into the study room, muttering a quiet "Oh, definitely," before he, too, pulled out a chair. Unlike Lucien, though, he twisted it around to straddle it several feet away from the table, making his reluctance abundantly clear.
"How about the topic of... Why are we doing this?"

“Merci” Dominique gave a polite nod in Lucien as he entered to room as instructed and taking a seat up right and ready looking as if he was waiting for someone of great importance to enter the room and didn’t want to get caught slouching.
Isztivan followed in suit along with Z, shuffling into the room quietly and making it obvious he wanted no part in this when he gave out a loud sigh as he dropped the stack of books on the table and slumped himself down in a chair in similar fashion to his current partner in crime.
This is the part where it got even more awkward, really, Dominique was interested in trying to figure out who exactly it was he inherited his weapon blood from, as far as his family knew, they could only guess “A distance relation”. Very distant it seemed, hence the books on genealogy. So, it wasn’t school study work per say, not work he should have let other people get involved with anyway.
“Well...” He began, but was promptly interrupted by Z and a laugh from Isztivan.
He probably should have stifled his laugh at Z’s sarcastic remark, Dominique didn’t look too pleased.

Lucien flicked his eyes up towards the ceiling, breathing slowly through his nose as he attempted to keep a hold on his patience. Of everyone, Z was the one who could break through his control the quickest, and his pointed comment had made quite obvious his thoughts on the entire situation. Not to mention the fact that they were supposed to be trying to get out of the Library as fast as possible, not dawdle around like they had all day.
Then again, perhaps having Z out of the library would bring less suspicion than having Z in the library. And Z was likely to cause a commotion soon out of sheer boredom if he was forced to remain here for much longer...
"Fine," his annoyed manner wasn't all faked as he scowled in Z and Isztivan's direction, "Leave then, and maybe Dominique and I can study in peace." Having said all that needed to be said to set things in motion, he turned his green gaze back on the WEAPON. "Well...?" he prompted.
Z grinned. He knew exactly what Lucien had been thinking when he gave his "permission" - not that Z ever needed any - but didn't much care. Whatever it took to get out of this place. With a lazy, "Yeah, sure, have fun with the bookworms," he stood and headed towards the door. One hand pulled it open further as he took a step out before looking back at Isztivan with an arched brow. Are you coming? The question didn't need to be said, but it was evident in Z's posture as he waited.

Anger wasn’t something Dominique was good at, he rarely did become genuinely angry because there wasn’t much for him to get angry about. The best he could really do was look at Isztivan would a face somewhere between annoyed and disappointment. A few times already it had done the job, Isztivan had passed the vacuum cleaner round the house and done the washing up as a result from Dominique silent looks.
He didn’t have much to add to Luciens instructions, he’d seemed to have sort of job his job from the way Isztivan immediately shut up after sniffling his laugh. He nodded at the comment on studying in peace and when prompted to speak just stated. “Oui”. Though he had to admit he was disappointed in Isztivan, they’d only been paired up for a short time now and it sort of seemed liek they may not be completely compatiable.
Isztivan wasn’t even paying attention as Z left, and in the brief pause where he was stood at the door waiting for him he shot an apologetic shoot at Dominique and seemed to say he’d make it up to him later. “I’ll see you at the apartment okay?” He didn’t sound sure of himself, Dominique’s little guilt trip having the desired effect as he hurried off over to the door.

"French?" One eyebrow raised slightly, though Lucien had already guessed by the accent. The other's continued use of the language only served to emphasize his earlier observation, but he was curious to know more about the WEAPON and it seemed like a good place to start.
Settling into his chair a little more comfortably now that Z and Isztivan were out of the room, Lucien propped his hand on his fist and regarded Dominique through emerald green eyes. "Were you about to say something about the study session before we were so rudely interrupted?"
Z closed the door behind them with an audible click as he breathed a heavy sigh of relief. s**t, he hadn't been able to breathe in that room. No windows, no ventilation, nothing but the idea of being crammed in there with books for company. Z shuddered, then remembered he had company. Sheepish company, from the looks of it. He'd noticed that the other seemed to feel guilty about ditching out, but apparently it hadn't been enough for him to stay.
A sly grin formed slowly as he eyed his current partner in crime. "We did it. Let's go somewhere less... restricted." It was after school hours, everything was open. "Get a drink, maybe? Or food." On cue, his stomach rumbled quietly, and Z grimaced. "Food. Out in Death City? School food's boring, and I need to get outta here before all this studiousness sticks to me like a bad smell." Z didn't feel the need to be charmingly eloquent the way Lucien did, in any sense. And in this case, he was already being polite - before having found a partner, he would've simply left the other here to fend for himself. But then again, if he hadn't had a partner, he wouldn't be in this situation in the first place...
Bah.
As he headed out of the Library - though the front entrance, no less - the other's words as they left the room came back to him, and Z looked over questioningly. "You guys live together too?"

“Oui” a blush came accompanied by a nod. Dominique knew his constant changing of languages must be annoying to non-French speaking students.
“Oh” There was a pause; Dominique fumbled for a moment as he adjusted his glasses to bide for time. This really wasn’t something he honestly wanted to work on with other people besides his own Tech. Trying to find out where his own weapon form originated from was something best suited for private study.
“No...sorry” Adding an apology as he so often did.
---
Isztivan rubbed his bare arms on each other, nervous habit of his, but he could get away with it looking like his was just cold since he always dressed like this. Looking back at Z though, his sense of guilt melted away quite quickly, he knew he was going to get a earful from Dominique later, though that wouldn’t be for a while. That was one of the few situations where Dominique was the dominate one.
“Awesome” Not really sure what “Less restricted” meant, but there were few things it could have meant that where less appealing that studying.
The prospect of food and a drink sounded great too, with his own smile he nodded agreeably with Z. From what he said, they both already shared similar views on food as well, the cafeterias food certainly did leave a lot to be desired. “Sure thing, you know anywhere good?” he scratched at his stomach as his thoughts drifted to a meal and his own stomach grumbling slightly after Zs.
“Oh, yes we do, it’s my place really, Dom moved in since I became his Tech.” He flicked his hair from his eyes as the wind from outside as they exited brushed his bangs into them.

"I see... So were you in France before joining SHIBUSEN then?"
Lucien was quick, and though he noted the fumble, he made no comment. Instead, he smoothly changed the conversation to introduce a possible topic of study. Lifting the hand that was still holding the witch book he'd been skimming through before they'd happened upon the other pair, he placed it on the table with a grin. "Well, I've been looking into the history of Witches and the stories surrounding them. Would you be interested in that?"
It was probably more advanced reading than they'd need for their current level at SHIBUSEN, but it was interesting reading to Lucien, in any case. Academic pursuits had always interested him, beyond the usual 'need' to do well simply because he was the headmaster's son.
----
"Antonios?" The question was followed by a slightly amused quirk of the lips. Him and the restaurant proprietor were not on the best of terms, but Z never let that sort of thing stop him if he wanted to eat. Besides, he had company, and Lucien had already drilled into him enough times that one had to behave (or at least tone down a little) when there were others around.
Sometimes having a partner sucked.
As they stepped out of the school, Z paused to tilt his head back and take a deep breath. "Ah, freedom." Turning to Isztivan beside him, he flashed a feral grin. "The air tastes different when you're outside."
"Cool." He picked up the thread of conversation once again as he began to walk out of the school gates. "L and I live together too. Though," Z was in the habit of being blunt, and he figured this would probably crawl up the other's a** the wrong way, "he doesn't tell me off for skipping out on s**t."
