[This is not the game. Merely a topic to clarify how you all want the game run. Please post suggestions here.]

With Ohai-Tei-Chan's permission, I will lead the first Resi Evil scenario by posting purely as narration with no roles myself. With the exception of canons and bio-mobs should you all wish to create originals.

First question: Would you all like the canon characters to be available as roles or would you rather canons be played according to the storyline by the scenario leader?

Second question: Would you all like the option of "villain" roles or would you rather leave that to the scenario writer?

I apologize if this is confusing. It's classic role-playing game stuff. I'm afraid I grew up by the D&D Dungeon Master concept.

I see... All these ideas seem interesting... Especially the Christmas sandwich one. Anywho;
1. So what you're saying for the first choice is that we CAN be Chris, Claire, Leon, etc. but we can have our own characters, right?
2. The option of a villain role seems pretty cool. To be able to work for the bad peoples seems interesting.

1: Yeah, it's really if you want the option to play as canons. Otherwise, they'll probably only play minor cameo roles.
2. I would think having villain roles optional to players would be interesting. Would even the score a bit more. But I know some people would rather sit back and let the Dungeon Master Scenario Writer do all the legwork. However, with a writer pulling the strings, it would make things entertaining for both sides.

1. Hm... that's a tough one. As I thought Wesker and Ada were dead and look where that went!

1. Indeed... Though in Umbrella Chronicles, it explains how Wesker escaped the mansion before it blew up and how Ada escaped the city before it got nuked.

Well....I think....
1. We should allow the option of somebody playing the enemy. However, if after a while, nobody wants to choose that role, then we should leave it to the scenario master.
2. So basically, make things open just in case. But overall, I think we should have a scenario master.
Perhaps make an overall list of canon characters we want to play as?

As you can see, I've begun setting up for the trial game. (Please excuse the alignment issues with the manual banners and the text... I didn't think those through and I was too lazy to redo them. Also, the spelling of Manual... I'll uh... fix that later.)

I should be ready for your characters by the end of this week or so. Begin thinking about your character's background and such. For the trial, players will not be allowed to play as canons or villains. This is to see how the battle and stat system will work. We will discuss each character's personal stats this weekend or upon submission.

Once I get the manual filled out, I would appreciate suggestions or critiques on the mechanics of it all so this can work smoothly.

The biggest issues I'm having are ammo loss, action speed, and battle with allies present. There will be dice rolling involved for damage and accuracy and all that complex mess. The game is mostly RPG and the battle element isn't THAT important, but I don't want it to be completely awkward either. It's just something different than most forum role-plays I've seen.

I'm trying to keep with the Resi Evil game feel by implementing the finding and use of items, documents, maps, etc. There will be puzzles too! My maps may be crude, but remember, I'm no pro.
