I thought, since I use the herb regularly, I'd share some information with you all.
Scullcap can be purchased as a dried herb and be brewed as a tea, left as an infusion, or made as a tincture.
A tbs of the dried herb in 8 oz of boiling water makes a tea, an oz of herb in either a pint or quart of boiling water and left to sit for 4 hours, or over night, will make a great chilled infusion. A tincture can be purchased and used by putting 30 drops in a tall glass of water before bed, or if you have personally made the tincture of FRESH herb, you can use 10-15 drops for equal effect.
Scullcap can be used up to twice daily if your nerves often feel frayed, although if you ever feel you are becoming dependant, you must quit. It can also aid with restful sleep, and headaches, especially those caused by stress. It is pregnancy safe (I would know, lol).

Hm, a little unrelated on the topic matter. But skullcap is used in the spice mixes people smoke. Now, keep in mind the reason I bring this up is because I make herb mixes generally for smoking. That I can use in a ritual or for pleasure. I usually smoke for pleasure though.
How safe is skullcap to smoke when blended with damiana or other smokable herbs such as, blue lotus, wild dagga, passionflower, damiana and marijuana?
Sorry if references to my favorite illegal herb are a questionable reference here. But, if I'm asking for information on the safety of skullcap I might as well be honest about what I'm going to do with it should I try it. Right?
I find Damiana makes dreams interesting and blends really well with other herbs in general. It kind of sharpens my senses and promote a clear mind as well.
And, well... Good sources of herbal information are good sources of herbal information. I am an amateur independent herbalist. If I can learn something new that I can use, cool.
I do use herbs for pleasure more than ritual but mainly because I just really love smoking and adapt my rituals to that love of smoking.
I know you shouldn't smoke Belladonna unless you want to trip balls and die. I do so like to research to make sure things are safe to smoke before I try it.

I've tried Skullcap and Passionflower separate for smoking, it would be interesting to mix the two.
