Experienced in astrology and numerology, I would just like to follow through with the months, dishing out information that may prove useful to you in bringing forth what's best for you, and preventing that which is not.
Comments, questions, and concerns are welcome!

SEPTEMBER (Not only the month of my birth, but! 3nodding )
September 5th is the Full Moon:
"The Wine or Harvest Moon"
Moon in Virgo
which brings you into an energetic position to recognize areas in your life that no longer serve on a spiritual-healthy-body-energetic level.
Magical Efforts: The energies connected with this Moon provide a perfect time to still the body, & let spirit take over. For this reason, efforts that involve meditation, divination, Scrying, Psychic development, or astral travel are good bets. Projects that involve guidance, answers, solutions, or truth discovery also work well now.

This is also an optimal time to clear cleans & recharge all of your crystals. Best served if you can place them in the full moon light for the
entire 24-hour phase..

Mercury in retrograde September 7th, 2009 at Libra - 12:39 am EST
Because Mercury itself rules the AIR sign of Gemini and the analytical part of Virgo, we will be adjust everything related to thoughts, concepts, ideas, and communication. When Mercury retrogrades, we find that many parts of our life are being revised. Often these revisions can be a surprise or throw us back a step. However, these revisions which occur during a Mercury retrograde, are a "course correction" and provide a stop gap measure until we can review situations. During this time of revision, change is compounded and confusion is created by our reactions to the ever-changing situations. Thus anything started during this time will ultimately be taken back or even revised further, making for a high-frustration time. This will be especially true with changing our minds, reviewing new ideas and our communication being improved and honed so not to be mis-understood.
The best mode to be in during a Mercury retrograde is one of "non-reaction", and with air signs being impacts, things will be changing continually during a Mercury retrograde Treat the time period as a time of gathering information, yet because the information will be in constant change it would be like trying to comb your hair in a wind storm. Best to wait until the changes stop before attempting to make things orderly. Therefore, just let the winds of situations blow around you without reacting. Once Mercury turns direct, take a look at the information that is still around at that time and go about putting everything in order, while maintaining the fine art of flexibility.

September 18th New Moon:
Great time to bring forth "Manifest"things in your life of spiritually enhanced change, completion, creation, abundance & prosperity.
Moon in Virgo Magical work: because the energy of the Virgo Moon lends itself to anything that requires detailed organization, use it to boost matters involving finance, structure, productivity, & the completion of old projects. It also lends itself to romantic endeavors where traditional values are important.

Awesome! I think I am going to put up a sabbat and esbat sub-category tomorrow (it's almost bed time for this boring lady). I always got all p.o.ed when the informational thread in other guilds would be locked, like the only information that was relevant was what the mods posted. I wanted to add a tad (of course).

The Sun is in Virgo until the... 21st, this year I think. After that we transition into Libra.

Moon signs for the month of September are as follows (the moon passes through the sign of the zodiac in the sky much as the sun does, but much more quickly. Watching the moon and it's astrological sign can aid in magickal workings and also in creating your own personal horoscopes *which really isn't as complicated as it seems*)
Sep. 1-3 Aquarius
Sep. 3-6 Pisces
Sep. 6-8 Aries
Sep. 8-10 Taurus
Sep. 10-12 Gemini
Sep. 12-14 Cancer
Sep. 14-16 Leo
Sep. 16-19 Virgo
Sep. 19-21 Libra
Sep. 21-23 Sagitarius (did I spell that right?)
Sep. 23-25 Capricorn
Sep. 25-28 Aquarius
Sep. 28 - Oct. 1 Aquarius

Full Moon is Sep. 4 (like she said, this one is your Harvest moon)
Dark Moon is Sep. 19 (18th is the night before, but the transition is after midnight on the 19, so NEW moon would be the 19th, and if you were doing shadow work, you'd want either the witching hour *what a romantic name for a simple time* or the evening of the 18th)

Mabon is the 22nd this year.

I usually mark my calender with just the sign symbols for the moon transitional days, astrologically speaking. The sun signs are worth learning by heart, although it doesn't hurt to mark them as well in maybe another color on your calender. THEY are *basically* the same every year (same as the sabbats, it varies a day or so depending on the sun and it's movement). The dark moon I make with a full darkened circle, and the full just a circle, empty.

There are some other astrological transitions going on, I think she got them, or some of them. Some might consider a Llewellyn's witches' calender or date book worth the money to track all that mess. I personally find them combersome (i.e. I can't afford one, lol). A simple farmer's almanac, which at least down here in the south, you can find at the grocery store, generally tracks the moon phases, the likely rainy days, the astrological influences, and good days for harvesting or planting (relevant in both gardening and symbolically in spell work). Really, if you are not into astrology, or you are just following the sabbats, there is no real use for all the extra associations. For me I admit it's a little OCD (lol). So yeah, I have GOT to get the fam in bed (husband is playing video games, child is doing some crazy dance to the video game music, and it's already 9pm!! la vie...)

So with this month's full moon coming up... tomorrow, actually, what are people up to? For me, it's actually grocery night (lol). I plan on a long hot bath, a couple candles, and some mirror work, followed by some journaling about what I have to harvest, and what I allowed to wither over this past year. It will not be terribly active, simply reflective.

Some Harvest Moon thoughts:

Although the focus tends to be on the fruition and the ripening of our acheivements, like the grape, not all the fruits become wine. With hard work, with planning, with tender care, all things are possible, of course. You want to take time to savor your triumphs, and to celebrate your harvest. But you also want to consider your losses. You want to think about what you can improve in next years crop of plans. Give yourself a chance to relax, and to reflect. And then, clean up the mess. Get rid of rotting fruits. Forgive your failures. Cleanse your body. Cleanse your mind. Cleanse your HOME! Prepare for the coming darkness. Consider the moon, hanging ripe in the sky, and then reach for her. Pluck her from the sky, and indulge in the rich path of life. You want to move forward from your Harvest Moon in balance.

I think somewhere I have a list of alternate names for the Harvest moon, although I think that Wine Moon is the most common.

Blessed Be wink
