Updated Kenne. Now with 100% moar fitting dragon. Also, think I'm gonna keep her in Ista if I ever try for her. She's, uh. Well, she'd probably get eaten alive in Igen.

RIDER INFORMATION
Name: Kenne
Age: 29
Sex: Female
Orientation: Self-proclaimed ‘opportunist’ with no specific tendencies
Rank: Wingrider
Physical Description: Kenne would never, under even the best circumstances, be called beautiful. Her features are too sharp for that. She has a strong face, with heavy dark brows and an aquiline nose that tends to be the focal point of her face. Her eyes are dark brown and her expressions are vibrant and warm; she’s much quicker to smile than to frown. Her hair is black; she keeps it cropped short with a braided rattail. She is short, barely five feet, and heavier than would be expected for a dragonrider (‘curvy’ would be a more polite way of phrasing it, as would ‘voluptuous’), but nonetheless carries herself with an air of great confidence.
Personality: Above all, Kenne is a pleasure-seeker. If it feels nice or makes her happy, she’ll do it. Wherever there is good food, good drink, and good company, Kenne will no doubt be in the midst of it. She enjoys any and all card games, but lacks a poker face and will almost always lose. A drinker but never a drunk, she can drink most women and some men under the table and has a reputation for showing up wherever wine is being poured. She takes her epicurean philosophy to heart in every part of her life, particularly when it comes to lovers. It’s rare that she’ll keep anyone for more than a week, and she doesn’t take relationships seriously. She’d rather have a roommate than a weyrmate, and likes to keep her options open.

She thrives in noisy, crowded situations, and feels incomplete when she’s not in company. Though she prefers spending time with Weyrfolk, Kenne will start up a conversation with anyone if she’s near them for more than a minute or two. Nobody makes her uncomfortable or seems unapproachable to Kenne. She fancies herself a complete charmer; she can read a crowd well and prides herself in knowing the right words to calm any situation. She doesn’t fluster easily, even when she’s proven wrong about things, but she also doesn’t apologize when she throws people off or makes them uncomfortable. Short of some major embarrassment to everyone involved, she’ll generally pretend like whatever just happened…didn’t. She hates admitting that her skills aren’t what was needed in any given situation.

When it comes time to be serious, Kenne often has difficulty pulling it off. She shows up at approximately the time she ought, but is never entirely ready for whatever’s going on. She’ll generally wander onto the scene one or two minutes late, either still pulling on clothes, or finishing up a meal as she walks, or calling out good-byes to her newest fling. She tends to make light of situations that are not the sort one ought to make light of, and is frequently overly-familiar with her leaders. She takes criticism or punishment without much fuss, but doesn’t often get flustered and very rarely takes correction to heart. She has high tolerance for stupidity and people she might personally dislike, and is a great devotee of the ‘smile and nod’ technique. Generally, Kenne is too laid-back to take the lead of anything.

She’s not altogether that hard of a worker and dislikes overly-demanding or harsh leaders (they cramp her style, and Kenne’s all about self-indulgence), but listens well enough to orders. That is, she generally does what she’s told in a fairly timely manner. Her loyalties lie wherever they have to for what’s best for herself and her dragon, but she isn’t one to pipe up about issues. It would be rare that Kenne would speak against a leader no matter how much she disliked them, and the odds are good that short of an order that would result in death, she’d keep quiet about any disagreements she had and simply let the leader take the fall in the end. When she pipes up about anything, it’s usually at her dragon’s request.

Kenne is committed 100% to Brinth, and she absolutely adores everything about him. She will support him to the end of time, and will take any falls she needs to for him. She’s also become quite adept at pulling him out of stupid situations before they escalate, and spends a lot of time trying to diffuse situations her dragon accidentally got them into. She looks out only for what’s best for her and Brinth, and wouldn’t be ashamed to admit that on her loyalty scale, Brinth comes first, she comes second, and everyone else takes a rather lagging third place.

History: Kenne was born in Ista. Her mother, a rather untalented drudge, never bothered disclosing the name of her father, who was a brownrider and apparently had no knowledge of Kenne’s existence. Raised mostly by her mother (whose lack of skill gave her the free time to care for a baby) but always an energetic handful, as soon as she was old enough to fetch and carry, Kenne was sent off to help wherever an extra pair of hands was needed. She tended to be shunted back and forth, learning a bit here, a bit there, though she mostly did fetching and carrying for people who had bigger and better things to do. When she was twelve, she was allowed to stand for Hatchings.

When she was fourteen, she stood on the Hatching Sands for the last time. The hatching wasn’t a particularly rough one, but an initial mauling left Kenne frightened for her life in the presence of that particular clutch. Indeed, when she spied something heading in her direction, she had a brief moment where she honestly thought it would be the end of her.

Luckily, the dragon that strode up to her didn’t bring death. He simply gave her a long, scrutinizing once-over, snorted his contentment, and said, Yes, you’re good for Brinth. Let’s go see what the rest of my clutchsibs are doing!. And they became lifemates. Their well-matched personalities and social tendencies meant that they quickly became the most social of their group, though by no means the most skilled or highest-regarded pair. They were mediocre in lessons but grew into a wing fairly well.

As the clutches grew larger and the Red Star nearer, more and more Searches were needed to bring sufficient Candidates to stand for Hatchings. It wasn’t long until Kenne’s silver tongue and easygoing manner and her dragon’s pleasant demeanor brought them to the forefront as a potential new pair of Searchriders. They agreed to take the position and did quite well. When the embargo on Searching came about, they returned to their original wing, though neither of them ever completely stopped keeping an eye out for promising youths.

Pets: None
Other/Talents: Can do a few silly card tricks, holds her liquor like a pro, and is a dab hand at knots. She’s also not too shabby a dancer.
Picture: None right now.

DRAGON INFORMATION
Name: Reyenth
Color: Blue
Physical Description: Brinth is a slim, well-proportioned blue with a long muzzle and pretty, almost delicate-looking head. His tail is quite long and he often holds it out straight behind him for added balance. His head bobs slightly when he walks. Average in more or less everything, his tail gives him some extra stability and adds slightly to his maneuverability in flight, but not enough to show up any of his blue brothers.

Colour: CC, with two ‘inspirations’:
1 – Prussian blue
2 – dinosaurs

Personality: Brinth is a friendly observer. He rarely gets directly involved in events, preferring to watch them unfold and then talk to the participants later—it’s so much harder to see everything that’s going on when you’re emotionally involved in things. He, like his rider, thrives in company and is a bit of a chatterbox once he gets started. He’s not quite as quick to warm up to strangers as Kenne, but his criteria for being worth his time aren’t all that stringent. He is reserved only around those dragons or riders who have made it completely plain that they want nothing to do with him and he is quite happy to start up chats with other dragons' riders.

In spite of his tendency avoid participating in drama, he is exceptionally curious and absolutely must know what’s going on. As a hatchling, he got his and Kenne’s noses into as much Weyr business—and therefore trouble—as possible. He’s never really grown out of this, though his constant questions have evolved into nosiness and gossip. He will bother everyone for news, human and dragon alike, and has a tendency to get, well…a bit annoying. He never really learned how to notice when a conversation starts going the wrong way and sometimes misses subtle clues telling him to back off, but he tries his hardest to be polite and charming. That way, if a conversation or event goes pear shaped, he can fall back on the charm. He hates confrontation, and when he inadvertently angers somebody (as he is wont to do), he will feel awful about it for days…until he forgets.

He has a fairly good memory for tasks and gossip (the latter being much more important to him, but the former keeping him out of trouble) and picks up Wing maneuvers fairly quickly, much to his rider’s relief. He plays well with others and wants to be the sort that his wingmates know they can depend on—as much so that they’ll confide in him as for any other reason. He follows orders quite well, though he’ll often try to have a chat with the Wingleader’s bronze during formation or start flirting with a green during a live-fire drill. He pays attention to everything and is quite proud of his ability to multitask: flirting and flaming, for instance.

He loves Flights and will flirt with all females, Queens included. When he wins a Flight (not all that often, since he’s pretty average, but he participates in every single one so that he has a better chance), he will make absolutely certain that the green he caught feels like a princess for a few days. But he’s more interested in conversation and gossip than pursuing any sort of monogamous relationship with any dragon, and, like his rider, is quite content to take whatever he can get for however long it wants to stick around.

Other: Nothing I can think of~

Why Brinth? Brinth and Kenne are both absolute social butterflies, and they both rely heavily (if not exclusively) on charm to keep them going strong in social situations. The fact that they’re both shameless flirts is a good part of their compatibility, too. Kenne’s general laid-back air works just fine for a dragon who is more interested in finding out what’s going on than actually participating in it, and Brinth fancies he’s a good influence on his (slightly less responsible) rider. He keeps Kenne pretty much in line when it’s time to be serious. Kenne is just socially savvy enough to keep Brinth from pissing off other dragons when she sees a situation going sour.

I say this very lightly as I am not an expert but does your character have any faults?

When it comes time to be serious, Kenne often has difficulty pulling it off. She and Reyenth (well, mostly Reyenth) can be counted on to be there and ready for action when the call goes out, but Kenne can’t be counted on to show up on time, or fully-dressed, or even alone. She tends to make light of situations that are not the sort one ought to make light of, and is frequently overly-familiar with her leaders

*looks at qoute* Okay, that's the only fault I've seen in her.

Wonderful profile with lots of great detail, so I have no other comments besides that. Just trying to avoid her being a 'Mary Sue' biggrin

xD I personally think Kenne has many faults, such as her inability to commit [not that it's some horrid thing, but you know]. I think she has quite a bit of depth, though I can provide more commentary after re-reading the profile [on Reyenth, as that's what you asked for], but your rider is nowhere near in danger of falling into Mary-Sue territory, in my humble opinion.

I do worry if her carefree ways are entirely appropriate in the setting of Igen Weyr, what with the rarity of female riders and the disdain concerning them, due to Thera's influence. However, I'm not the person to moderate that. xD!

Hmm...I may have either missed some information or it wasn't put up when I posted her (not sure which, as I haven't had time to read over in a while, unfortunately), but it's easy enough to re-tailor her and have her as a transfer to Igen if that becomes a believability issue.

I think she'd be fun to play in a place where she'd end up causing altogether too much conflict for her own good, as I wrote her to get herself into trouble.

Thank you both for your input. :3

Alternate history, re-tailored for Kenne as a transfer.

Additions in Bold
Kenne was born in Ista.

The hatching wasn’t a particularly rough one, but an early mauling left Kenne frightened for her life in the presence of that particular clutch. Indeed, when she spied something barreling toward her, she had a brief moment where she honestly thought it would be the death of her.

Luckily, the dragon that strode up to her didn’t bring death. Just a bad attitude. He knocked her down, winded her, and then sat on her stomach. When Kenne opened her eyes and managed to catch her breath, she found herself looking up the muzzle of a small, sleek Blue, who snorted in her face before saying simply, Hmph. You’ll do for Reyenth.

And just like that, she and the pale, rude dragonet became lifemates. Kenne had an endless supply of patience and good humour to balance Reyenth’s aggravated harping, and Reyenth supplied the girl with the additional spark and seriousness she needed to keep up in a world of larger, stronger, more focused riders. As they grew, it soon became apparent that Reyenth was ill-suited to any maneuvers but those for greens. He most certainly didn’t have the stamina, and as that became more and more important to the training, the pair cast about for somewhere else they could be useful, Reyenth to save his pride, Kenne out of a desire to do everything she could.

As the clutches grew larger and the Red Star nearer, more and more Searches were needed to bring sufficient Candidates to stand for Hatchings. It wasn’t long until Kenne’s silver tongue and easygoing manner, and her dragon’s flashy colouration, brought them to the forefront as a potential new pair of Searchriders. Kenne was wholly willing, and Reyenth, who was fonder of children and Candidates than he was of any other humans, eventually agreed to go out and bring back youngsters.

When the embargo on Searching came about, Kenne was at a loss of what to do, and eventually she and Reyenth became mere sweepriders. Though the crowded weyr was perfectly all right for Kenne, as its numbers swelled, Reyenth became more and more agitated. Neither of the pair had any loyalty to Favan and Cheoth, but when the option to transfer Weyrs with the goldrider came up, Reyenth leaped at the chance to be out of the roiling mess that was Ista and Kenne indulged him.

Igen is proving a bit of a challenge for them to warm up to, but Kenne has faith in her ability to do so.

She can read the crowd well and almost always knows the right words to calm any situation, and she’s extremely persuasive when given the time to be so.

This part is what comes off as Sueish. In general, Kenne seems to have a bajillion things that could be flaws, but are presented as charming quirks. I think the flaws need to be spelled out more clearly, and also? These two lines in red could do with an overhaul, particularly the part where you say she ‘almost always knows the right words to calm any situation’, and where you says she’s generally right about being a complete charmer. Spell out the flaws for me, clearly and without excuses for her.

When it comes time to be serious, Kenne often has difficulty pulling it off. She and Reyenth (well, mostly Reyenth) can be counted on to be there and ready for action when the call goes out, but Kenne can’t be counted on to show up on time, or fully-dressed, or even alone. DRAGON INFORMATION
Name: Reyenth
Color: Blue
Physical Description: Reyenth is a pretty blue: lithe, on the small side and incredibly delicate in stature, and striking in colour. He is an extremely pale, almost white, turquoise with a striping of darker turquoise on his neck, back, and tail. The webbing of his wings is that same darker shade. He is an agile flyer, quick and almost as nimble as a green, but is also quicker to tire than most of his colour. It is highly unlikely he would last an entire Threadfall.
Personality: Reyenth is not a friendly dragon. Sharp and acerbic, he is quick to take offense and rather snappish with people in general. Around dragons alone and anyone too young or too old to possibly be of interest to Kenne, he is fine if a bit curt, but Faranth help those who think they can get to Kenne (or Reyenth) without Reyenth’s permission. Things that take Kenne’s attention away from him are rivals. He has very little patience for humans. He tolerates children fairly well, all other humans badly, and is slavishly devoted to Kenne to the point of jealousy toward her bedmates. When he remembers to, he hates Holders and views them as an affront to dragonkind. He tends to make generalizations about people (all men are rivals, all Holders are evil, all greenriders are stupid and all greens are vapid) that Kenne constantly has to contradict.

He is proud, haughty, and extremely vain about his appearance and agility—and he doesn’t much like listening to others unless they are of the right colour. In that respect, Reyenth is extremely old-fashioned. Browns, bronzes, and Queens are to be listened to, browns only if they are of Wingsecond rank or above. The same goes for bronzes, actually. ...In reality, Kenne and Queens are the only beings who can completely earn Reyenth’s obedience, but as long as Kenne is around to enforce orders, he will not make overt trouble. He might, however, grumble loudly to any dragon in range if he really dislikes something he has to do.

That said, he’s incredibly serious about what he does, and he will always arrive impeccably on time to drills or meetings. He listens studiously, if simply so he can gripe about what he’s been told to do, and always makes sure Kenne is present for anything she’s supposed to be doing. He has no qualms about dragging his rider places and is perfectly all right with constantly berating her when she’s not paying attention or doing something wrong.

He doesn’t have much of a sex drive; he’s ridiculously picky about females and will only give chase if he has decided they are worth his effort. In Flights, his size and stamina (or lack thereof) tends to make him fall short, but when he does manage to catch a green, he is surprisingly affectionate with her in the following days. After about a sevenday, though, he gets snappish toward her rider, and while Kenne might be perfectly happy to continue the relationship, Reyenth will chase the pair away.

Theoretically, his heart is in the right place. He gets along best with laid-back, easygoing blues and browns, but Reyenth is willing to tolerate any dragon who’s not trying to give him orders or flirt with him. He’s respectful but not very comfortable around Queens and is easily put off by any pushy personalities. He does, somewhere deep down, have a sense of humour, and will play little tricks on his rider if he thinks nobody’s watching.

Other: Reyenth doesn’t actively mean any harm to humans, not even Kenne’s flavour-of-the-week. His threat displays are limited to growling or the occasional half-hearted snap.

Why these two? Kenne needs Reyenth to keep her in line and focused when it comes time to crack down. Reyenth needs Kenne, who is both patient and easygoing, to balance out his snippiness. Kenne's cheerful acceptance of nearly everything that happens to her means she can take Reyenth's acerbic behaviour in her stride and keep him from doing anything that could get them into actual trouble. Reyenth's serious streak keeps Kenne from doing something completely stupid, and he pushes his rider to excel when she might otherwise sit back and let the world pass her by. They've managed to achieve a sort of equilibrium.

See, it feels like you spent a lot more time writing up Reyenth’s profile (despite the obvious disparity in length), and gave him all the flaws that Kenne is lacking. In practice, I think that could work quite well. I have yet to see anything about him that I find to be unrealistic, so I’m not sure why you wanted us to focus on him, but there you go.

Alrighty. XD I think you're familiar with my 20 Question method, so I'm just going to toddle on ahead. I like the rider, she's different than the ones we currently have and female blueriders are always welcome.

KENNE
-Appearance:
It might just be a personal bias of mine, but I tend to associate piercing eyes with sharpness and coldness, two words which are contradictory to the rest of the sentence (and her personality). Why are her eyes so sharp when the rest of her is pretty warm and fuzzy?

- Personality:
Cherie has already pointed out this group of sentences, but I have a different approach to it. It's generally not a good idea in bios to talk about the way that your character effects others. To say that she "rarely makes anyone uncomfortable" and "knows the right words to calm any situation" doesn't leave much room for the person RPing with her. What if Kenne says the wrong thing? What if she makes someone extremely uncomfortable and they don't even want to look at her? Instead of talking about how other people should react to her, focus on how she reacts to other people. Instead of "it's rare she makes someone uncomfortable" tell me what she does if she makes people uncomfortable. And though she's good at keeping the peace, how does she do it and what if it doesn't work? What's her Plan B should this persuasiveness not work and someone's running around in hysterics?

"She and Reyenth (well, mostly Reyenth) can be counted on to be there and ready for action when the call goes out, but Kenne can’t be counted on to show up on time, or fully-dressed, or even alone." <- I'm wondering how she can be counted on to be there... but yet not be there on time or even ready because she's got people with her? That strikes me as a little contradictory. If she's going to be late, nude and with the flavour of the week I'd hardly say she can be counted on at all.

Why does she dislike overly-demanding or harsh leaders when in the previous paragraph she appears to take everything in stride and has a high tolerance? What is it about them that she doesn't like and wouldn't put up with by making light of the situation?

Why is she alert and hard working? She appears to be a bit of a self-centered character (not in a negative way, but a pleasure seeker) so what makes her work hard? What makes her focus? And what makes her take her eyes off her own life and her own pleasure to be alert?

Is there anything that can get under her skin? Does anything rile her or make her want to beat her head against the wall in frustration? What does she do if her flavour of the week comes back and wants something serious? Does she feel guilty about moving from person to person and pleasure to pleasure?

-History:
Looking good, changing it to Ista was a good move since she would have had a lot of childhood hardship if she Impressed a blue at Igen. However, after transferring to Igen I doubt Thera would let her be a Searchrider, even though she rides a blue. It's possible, but probably very unlikely given her gender.

REYENTH
-Appearance:
Him being almost white as a base colour is a little eh to me. He can have portions of him that are almost white, but we don't have a dragon that's base colour is almost white. A little too close to actually white.

- Personality:
The big question I have in regards to Reyenth is what did he ever see in her? I know you say in the 'why me' bit that they need each other to keep each other in line, but they do need to have some sort of middle ground. And it looks to me like there is none and Reyenth just Impressed a girl who would give him the biggest headache of his entire life. XD If he was such a jealous dragon, why would he Impress a rider whose entire life is centred around their own pleasure and who enjoy spending time with people to satisfy this pleasure? There have been riders that do flirt when their dragons dislike such things, but they also have a middle ground where they can meet and compromise.

Why does he have no patience for humans? Why does he just tolerate children? With a memory as poor as his is why does he have so many prejudices?

The statements about who he listens to follow the same sort of idea as Kenne's reliability statements. He only listens to browns, bronzes and queens. But then, not really, because nobody else holds his obedience but Kenne and the golds. Who does he listen to? Why does Kenne enforce the orders when she herself is getting close to other riders? What would make her tell him to behave?

Why is he surprisingly affectionate to the greens he catches? There's nothing else in his personality that suggests he's capable of even being nice. Though he may get along with other dragons, consider how other dragons may react to him. He's sharp, proud, vain, grouchy, obsessed with his rider and is constantly chasing everyone away. If he's so obsessed with what he's rider's doing how does he make time for talking to other dragons? How can he function in a wing when his entire personality revolves around the fact that he's jealous of anything that comes within 50 feet of his rider?

Your "why these two" is okay, but like I said before, I don't see any common ground between the two of them. I sort of like to think of dragon bonding as almost a marriage (8D). In order for it to work, you may have differences and compliment each other, but you can't function well when you're on completely opposite sides of the spectrum. Married people should share some sort of deep core value, and that's what I think that dragons and riders should be like this as well. As far as I can see, Kenne and Reyenth don't really have anything in common, and I honestly can't see Reyenth picking Kenne just because he wants a rider that will tolerate him (or the converse, Kenne Impressing a dragon who she just has to tone down and put up with).

^^ They sound good to me! Might want to check though that it's okay for them to have been searchriders in the past, as it is a ranking position <3
