iMaka Albarn the Meister

PostPosted: Sun Aug 30, 2009 4:55 pm

[ This thread is a continuation of a role-play event that occurred in Towns. It was wisely decided we bring it into the guild since, for starters, it was a wonderful, evil idea brought to us by our own Breaking the Silence, aka Anna, who pulled a little foul play on my Maka when she least expected it. While what I post will not be the exact posts, it's to give those who join an idea of what has gone on thus far. I would also like to state a bit of rules.

This role-play thread will be turn based. If you are not quite aware of how that works, think of it like this:

Person One: ~Posts their turn.~

Person Two: ~Once they see person one has gone, they post.~

Person Three: ~Seeing now it is their turn, they post to respond to everyone else.~

Person One: ~And now that the others have posted, they post once again.~

Basically, by the order in which people first enter the RP, they continue that line. Such as in this one. Thus far only me, iMaka Albarn the Meister iMaka Albarn Maka Aruban and iSouI Eater Soru lta are in here, so saying, a random person wishes to step in. I ask they please let themselves be known in OOC, if your character has an opening your welcome to make a response being added to the bottom of whatever number of people are all ready in it.

And if your confused, please let me know. I don't bite. Just trying to limit confusion.

WITH THAT SETTLED, RECAP TIME~

Quote:
It had not been Maka's most shinning moment. She had not been in the safety of Shibusen, she had been standing there with her partner and demon weapon, Soul, when a familiar face made her smiling appearance to request her audience in what was kindly called a "Girl Chat."

Anna, a witch with a stained past and a taste for revenge against the hands of those who had painfully ruined her childhood. Shibusen.

But, neither Maka, nor a few, deemed her mentally to ever be a real threat. Despite prior attacks where she had possibly shattered a nice chunk of death city, gone after them, friends, innocent people or simply thrown crude remarks. Despite even that she held alliance with Medusa, Anna herself, even in Maka's eyes was not a truly evil person, at least not when compared to the one she stood with. It didn't make her a good person, but not one like that snake... And Maka had began to feel determine to try and break this alliance for some time now.

She was a witch who worked with Medusa.

Requesting for Maka to have a chat, alone.

And Maka, top of her class student and newly appointed two star leveled Meister, followed along.

--------------------------

They had not gone to far from where Maka originally had been, a short walk into the woods, to a tree. Nothing strange for Anna who seem oddly fond of hanging out in them. Anna wasted no time getting to the point of things once they were settled, innocently asking about how she had overheard having a special ability.

Maka was a bit confused at her suddenly bringing up her Soul perception, while her and Anna had chatted int he past, it was like rivaling school girls half the time. And even then the subject was hardly about anything special about Maka herself. And for it to be THAT of all topics, Maka decided to approach it with care, explaining it as a none importantly as possible.

Anna, however, motion: "It must be rather special for someone to be killed over it."

Maka had tensed at the reminder of the BJ incident suddenly, red flags had gone up screaming at her that something was wrong. But she stood her ground to try and figure out what Anna was trying to get to.

A mistake Maka would quickly regret, as she responded to Anna's thoughts with honesty, of why exactly her powers were so "special" and Anna, with this, drew the curtain on this conversation with her own honesty.

With a short stroll over she embraced Maka, whispering sweetly before letting her hand lovingly stab through the center of Maka's stomach and back, effectively lethally wounding her.

Maka, blinded with pain and shock had managed to pull herself off from the arm, but that had been as far as any retaliation went as she had stared at the other woman, starch white clothing meeting crimson as it slowly grew across her center like wild fire, as an unspeakable amount of pain flashed through every last nerve of her body.

And as the wild seem like it was about to black out, a pair of arms had snatched her from the scene and rushed her hastily away from Anna, who was quite aware.

If the blood loss doesn't kill her, the poison will.

-------------------------------

Once a safe distance, Maka had eventually found despite the infinite amount of pain shooting through her, she could hardly feel a thing beyond a wave of drowsiness that was begging her to just close her eyes and take a nap. But as she felt something warm laid across her, a weak, shakey hand lifted to grasp at it over her wound.

Fabric, a familiar fabric. Smooth, warm from the body it had come from. Just like the voice that was now calling out to her.

.... Of course, who else would be the first one there to somehow find her and take her from standing in a puddle of her own blood straight from the enemy? Such an idiot, her partner... Anna could have chased after him to, didn't he realize that? And she wasn't in condition to help...

She was really happy he had found her, though.

And as he called out to her, shook her to try and keep her conscious, she moved a hand to grasp at him, trying to somehow motion she could hear him. With that confirmed, Soul had wasted no time quickly informing her of a plan he'd cooked up somehow within the time span of grabbing her and where they were now. They both knew there was no hospitals near, Shibusen was a ways as well considering the amount of blood still pooling from her body at such a pace.

There was nothing anyone or anything could do to mend her wounds.

Nothing, anyone or anything, except a small oni within a black room and the power of black blood he held.

It was a risky plan, even with all the logical sense it made. The black blood healed the wounds of it's host, it brought strength and could probably get her stable for the price of her sanity.

But it was not her sanity that concerned her. She knew even if she threw her reason into the darkness, Soul would be right there ready to catch it and bring it back before that oni got to much pleasure out of making her stir crazy. But what about Soul? The black blood effected his own sanity, to top it off he would be having to try and keep her from taking down trees or running away in an insane rage while in his human form. Hell, he'd probably be having to try and hold the resonance during ALL of this!

She tried to voice the concerns, but she didn't have the energy. And as he asked her if she could resonate, she went quiet. though she could feel his wavelength right there beside her own as if it were like one of his hands reaching out to her, she didn't know if she could grab it herself and pull her soul to his own. She knew once she did, she'd have the energy to argue with him, so at the very least...

She'd resonate, but softly requested that he leaded.

And with that she felt her conscious fall blank, only for it to come back to her clear as day standing in a familiar black and red checkered floored room, with her entire being completely changed and "body" without a scratch as she slipped herself through the curtains, eyes immediately wandering to the familiar young man no more then a few feet away from where she now stood, dressed in his pinstripe suit.

-------------------

He wasted no time getting to the point as she moved closer to him, and neither did she. He voiced his plans, she voiced her worry. And he followed with his own as she felt a spike of rage shoot up in her. She knew very well if the tables were turned and she was the one responsible for this, he'd be acting with much more caution. She didn't doubt he'd bring her back to sanity, whether the black blood managed to save her or not. But what happen to him in that time...

But he convinced her with his confidence, with that fmailiar sharkish grin and rather nice words. And with a quick tug at his hair and warning that when she was fine, he ahd better be as well...

The two no readyed their dance into insanity,

And so,

Our role-play continues. . .

[[Oh hell, I'm gonna have to make a post format for Soul later on. xDDDD]]

Anxiety. Fear.

It was all he could feel. Everything else was drowned out by the sheer magnitude of the negative emotions. Of course, this wasn't caused by the fact that he didn't trust his meister. He knew she would risk her life for him, and vice versa. These feelings were caused by self-doubt.....if he failed here, it'd be the end for Maka, his partner. And what's a weapon without a wielder??? In his case, nothing. Nothing at all.

Stress. Stress. Stress.

In a gesture showing his nerves, the white-haired Death Scythe moved one hand to the collar of his red shirt, tugging on it some. His other hand was wound tightly around his companion's, fearing the feeling of her hand sliding away from his. Red hues focused on Maka Albarn's face, and he gave a nervous cough before speaking. "Alright....Maka.......are you ready?" he asked, trying oh-so hard to keep his voice level. It slightly cracked at the end, and he prayed that she didn't notice this.

Suddenly, his thoughts were else-where. A sick realization hit him like one of Maka's books would. Even though he was a Death Scythe now, nothing had changed. He couldn't do anything on his own. Soul Eater Evans was still useless on his own. The boy gritted his teeth, a look of anger crossing his face. He couldn't do anything without his partner.....But could SHE do anything without HIM? Soul gave his head a light shake, attempting to clear his thoughts. That wasn't important at the moment ; all that mattered was keeping himself sane enough to save Maka from the Black Blood. He had to keep a 'cool' façade so he wouldn't stress his Meister out, too. The white-haired teenager took a deep breath before locking his gaze with hers, flashing her a sharkish grin. He pushed away the doubts he had, telling himself to suck it up ; to be a man. He would NOT fail. He would NOT let Maka die from this. He would NOT let either of them be completely consumed by the black blood. Unconsciously, his grip on her hand tightened slightly.

"Heh.......let's do this!"

It was nothing he made obvious in his expression or motions, her otherwise calm and 'cool' partner seemed exactly that as they stood before one and another, preparing for the familiar scenario. But she could still sense it, especially now with their souls so tangled closely to one and another. Something, something was making him nervous. She lived with him, she fought with him. She knew something was getting to him.

That thought nearly won itself a chuckle from her as she stared into the depths of crimson that stood out perfectly against white bangs that fell across his face. In the situation they were in, the questions that arose were not 'What was there to be nervous about,' after all, but rather 'What was there not not be nervous about'? Somewhere outside of this room, Soul's body was bent over her bleeding form as the soul that stood here now slowly became weaker and more disconnected to it's physical body and while Maka was no stranger to fear or pain, she would've been lying if she didn't admit, even to just herself she was a little terrified reflecting on all of it.

She was dying. And they were about to try and help one situation by making it worse in another.

She'd go insane.

And insanity would slowly begin coming after him while he struggled to help her keep her reasoning.

All the while the black blood that ran through her veins would hopefully heal her body, even to just a point she could survive travel to a near by hospital...

That was their plan and she was sure, while she had not spotted him anywhere near by them, or heard his chuckling from the shadowy corner, that little red oni was probably cackling so amused to himself at all this. Truly, she couldn't begin to number the amount of concerns that may have floated by his mind as he held tightly onto her hand as she watched quietly as doubts slightly dulled the redness of his eyes as he stared back at her, how his teeth gritted and she was oh-so-tempted to finally verbally ask what he was thinking.

But before she could find her voice, she watched as the emotions slowly melted back into that confident look he had been flashing her a moment prior to now. And like a moment ago, that confidence he showed her, made her own raise. Whatever had crossed his mind, he had definitely seem to fight it away fast enough, and that caused a rather sudden smirk to slip across her face, her hand turning in his to return the squeeze he had given.

And she nodded to him, finally finding her voice with it's usual stern yet sweet tone completely and entirely without fear or hesitation. "Mm! just don't yell at me if I step on your feet!" She teased him, recalling the last time they danced. Come to think of it, he hadn't yelled at her then anyway.

She stepped forward to him further, effectively closing the last bits of personal space between them as she set herself up, keeping her one gloved hand locked with his while her free hand lifted to the shoulder of his suit, coming to rest there as her feet shifted to their proper places in front of his own. Green hues stayed locked with his and the smirk she wore slowly fell into a serious expression as she watched him, nodding her head once more.

"Soul"

She said simply his name to inform him she was ready.

And as long as she looked to that confidence that assured her he'd be fine as much as she knew she would be with him there, she really was ready.

Soul took another deep breath, calming himself before turning his head to the side, searching for the short, red 'oni'. He scanned the shadows with his red hues, looking for the annoying creature. "Oi, Oni." He gave a momentary pause before continuing. "You know what to do."

- - - - - -

It didn't take long after that for Soul to feel the amazing power of the black blood pulsing through his veins and his Meister's. He was no longer in the 'Black Room', no......he found himself staring down at Maka's limp, bloody body. The Death Scythe gritted his teeth, biting down on his lip hard. He felt his vision blur and his conscious slowly fading....but he couldn't let himself be engulfed by the blood.

He had to save his partner. Without his Meister, he was nothing.

The weapon leaned over Maka, snapping one eye shut. The other was widened, the iris trembling, showing how close he was to losing his sanity. For safety purposes, he pinned the arms of his partner to the ground. Her sanity would be gone shortly, and he'd have to deal with her once the wound healed. This was something he wasn't looking forward to.

His vision had taken on a red tint, distorting the colors of everything else. The thoughts running through his head.......he hated them. He wanted them to just go away. But, alas, he couldn't do anything about them until his Meister was safe and sound. His teeth broke the skin on his lip, and the scythe tasted the distinct flavor of blood. It brought him closer to sanity, once again, and his confidence level suddenly boosted.

He could do this. He could save her.

Mid-thought, another surge of power could be felt. His instincts were screaming 'Let go, let the blood take over.' But this time, he HAD to ignore them. And, of course, he could hear that damn Oni cackling like an insane scientist. Man, I really wish you'd shut up. You're pretty uncool. Soul thought, having a conversation with the small, red creature in his head.

"You know, Soul....let me take over. I can save your partner. If you let yourself be bound by the rules of reasoning, you'll never be able to save her." The demon said, his tone a persuasive one.

"Do you honestly think I'm THAT stupid? Without reasoning, I'd end up killing her myself," Soul retorted, shaking his head 'no.' The Oni's grin changed to a frown, and he glared up at his 'host.'

"That girl's going to die because of YOUR weakness!" The demon shouted, snarling at the white-haired boy. Soul paused, glaring down at the nuisance in his head. He waited a few more moments before responding.

"You're wrong."

The only thing her mind could cling to after hearing his voice call out to the little demon were sensations. She felt the sensation of fear grip at the corners of her hips, threatening to pull them down and shatter the confidence that she had so quickly built up as she stared at the side profile of her partners face, her heart beat quicken and her breathe slow. But the other sensation, and the one she tried to hold onto with all her might as her vision went blank... The feeling of his hand holding hers, the grip she held onto it. the grip she had on him in her other hand and that smirk he had flashed her. Even if it was completely unconscious to her she felt an assurance with him there for her. Soul would not let any bad come to her, not if he could stop it.

She could slip into insanity, he would still have his hand on hers...

...She just hooped in the end, it wouldn't be a painful grip....

But all thoughts came to a full stop as the black blood flowed from her partner through the pure strength of their resonance, with each beat of her heart the blood spread throughout every vein, into every muscle and organ. Her mind was shadowed and black and so were her eyes, nothing being comprehended by her. Not sight, not sound, not feeling as the black blood began strengthen her body. Her muscles tighten and tensed unconsciously as the color of her blood pooling from her stomach and back started to be diluted from a bright crimson to a inky black, only the stains on her shirt and caked on her stomach, back and gloves leaving the remnants of what it previously was.

Automatically, the blood seem to numb the pain and stop anymore blood from flowing while it continued to grow and fill her system and awareness slowly return to her. She felt strong, she felt free, the fear of death long-gone and not even on her track of thought as the blood pulsed. All those worry's, all reason, all logic, all restraints, all bonds... Poof, bye bye old Maka, that foolish girl who was always so thoughtful of her actions, so studious, so NORMAL. And hello, hello to the girl now being held under her partner, to the girl with NO logic, no care, no compassion and no...

Desire to stay here.

Her mind raced, flashes of random images went through her head as she suddenly snorted, tightening her grip on Soul, as if she was trying so hard to hold back her laughter before it became to much and she broke out in a fit of chuckles into his chest, suddenly pounding the side of her fist into his chest.

"W-WHAT? WHAT?" She started, kicking her feet like a little girl. "I'm not dead! I'm not dead! let goooo~" She whined all most teasingly before opening her first to a palm, trying to shove him away from her now. "I wanna see people go..." She made a comically jaw-dropped shocked face before grinning like a fool, trying to squirm her way out of his arms now, bending a leg up to try and get it to her chest. If she could do that, she'd shove him away. "...I wanna see if they make that face at a body that looks like a doughnut! Then you know what?! I WANNA SEE WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE. I'LL MAKE THEM DOUGHNUTS~! I WANNA SEE IT! I WANNA SEE IT!!"
PostPosted: Tue Nov 03, 2009 11:45 am

He didn't speak.
He didn't acknowledge the now-insane Maka with words.
He didn't respond to the fist beating on his chest.
He simply tightened his grip on the meister in an almost-pitiful attempt to fully restrain her.

"Look at you. Just take a look at yourself. Weak, feeble.....Just look at yourself, trying to save that girl. What a joke. What. A. Joke. A pathetic weapon trying to save a worthless meister. Really, now, Soul?"

"Shut up."

"Despicable...deplorable....lamentable.....That's exactly what you are. You can't do anything without -my- power. Why don't you just accept that fact?"

"I thought I said 'Shut up'."

Ugh, that damn Oni. Making him that much more nervous, making him that much more STRESSED....
God damn it, how he hated that red...creature.

Gotta keep my cool....gotta stay calm.....gotta stay focused.
The Death Scythe thought to himself, repeating the words over and over and over in his mind. This was the key to saving Maka, this was the key to making it out of this with both of their sanity in-tact.

This was the key to saving HIMSELF.

Slipping...slipping.....slipping....his control on his own body was slipping.
He bit down even harder on his lip, some-what happy that the pain brought him back to reality....back to sanity.

Damn it. Why did that Black Blood have to infect him? Why did it have to feel so...amazing when it was pulsing through his veins?

....Why did he want to give in to its power at times?
Soul immediately shook his head, clearing the questions away from his mind.
Only one thing was important right now.
Only one thing he needed to focus on.
And that was his meister.

She continued to push against him as he continued to restrain her from going anywhere, something that quickly became more like a game to her then an actual bother to her. The black blood now coursing through her body held all conscious and reasoning in it's fist, leaving her without care. She continued to crack up against her partner, gloved hands ceasing to shove against him anymore.

Who was this?

Why were they holding her back?

Were they friend, or were they foe?

Did it really matter~?

Her being grew still under his grip and eventually laughter quieted into a eerie silence to surround the two, fitting of the dense, dark forest around them. With her head bowed down to level the very top of her head with his collarbone from his line of view, her bangs to curtain out the sight of her eyes, two long wheat-colored locks hanging over the front of her shoulders she slowly began to shift her position from laying down, half bent up and clinging to him, to a much more proper seated position on her knees, letting his jacket fall uselessly on the floor between them as she leaned herself into him to keep herself locked in his grip while doing so.

The black blood was playing it's part. Now that the blood flow had been stopped from her life threatening injury, it began the crucial process now of healing it for the host. Not that Maka, or the Maka being controlled by said blood, seemed all that effected by this fact. Gloved hands began to grab a fist full each of his shirt. For a instance she remained just as she was in front of him before a familiar chuckle began to taint the silence, quickly followed by a familiar voice.

"Are you holding back?" She inquired all most childishly, her grip on his shirt suddenly releasing to slide up on his body, the thumbs of each of her hands slowly beginning to press against the front of his throat as the rest of her hands began to circle his neck. "If you're trying to stop something from moving..." And on cue, her grip tighten to a strangle, a grin spreading over her face silently in hiding from him. "...Then you gotta snap it's neck~!"
PostPosted: Sun Nov 29, 2009 6:37 pm

The Death Scythe let out a strangled yell before moving his hands around his partner's wrists, attempting to wrench her hands away from his throat. He couldn't just sit there and ignore the fact that she was basically cutting off his air-ways - it's not like he could just survive without oxygen.

He winced after a few minutes of trying to peel her off of him, seeing that he wasn't exactly doing much. Soul couldn't bring himself to hit his partner, or harm her in any way. Even though she was under the influence of black blood, and if he DID harm her, she'd just heal....but, still, the thought bothered him.

But then again, he was in a situation where his life (and sanity) was on the line. Here Maka sat, strangling him to death while he was trying to hold on to the little bit of sanity he had left. He suddenly tightened his grip on her wrists and increased the strength with which he pulled on them. He couldn't last like this for long...he couldn't breathe, thanks to the pressure Maka was applying on his trachea. s**t, not a good situation.....

But he couldn't just give up here and let her choke him to death.
He couldn't just let himself be engulfed by the madness that came with the Black Blood.
He couldn't just let his partner down.

"Soul, she's going to kill you. Let us take the lead...we'll heal her wounds and make you two strong--

"SHUT /UP/ YOU DAMN MIDGET!"

"I'M NOT SHUTTING UP, YOU'RE GONNA GET YOURSELF KILLED!"

Soul snarled and glared at the annoying creature situated in front of him. That annoying smile....that annoying voice....damn, why couldn't the thing just disappear? Why did he even have to have this...black room inside of his head? It was so un-cool....So annoying....

He closed his eyes and let out a snort of annoyance before turning away from the oni, staying silent for a few moments. After a few minutes, Soul turned back to face the creature, crimson hues locking with the small demon's eyes. He cleared his throat before speaking in a low, stern tone.

"I'm not going to die, and I'm not going to give up my reason. I'm not falling victim to you and your madness," The white-haired boy muttered in response to the demon as he pushed himself to a standing position, towering over the small red nuisance that tried oh-so hard to send the weapon spiraling down into the depths of insanity. "Do me a favor and be quiet, alright? Let me do my thing, you stupid oni."

Her hands remained tightly circled around his throat, pressing her fingers inwardly as she felt his desperate attempts to pry her off, winning a eerie chuckle from under her breathe. What real thoughts were going through her mind were a mystery, but she was quite obviously amused with herself at the idea of choking the life out of him, and yet something was keeping her hands from tightening just enough to finish him off, it wouldn't take much.

Tighten the grip a little more with the help of the black blood filling her muscles.

Keep it firm.

Here all those funny little gagging noises.

Then nothing.

But something kept her hands from proceeding any further then what they were. The senseless girl seemed neither concerned, or curious by the fact something down inside, buried beneath the insanity of the black blood but still there, was holding her back. Maka was insane, but she wasn't gone. And she was not about to allow herself to kill her partner. The girls former consciousness struggled wherever it was to hold herself back from choking her partner to death. Even with the Oni in control, without fear or reason that was simply something that was not going to be allowed. Unfortunately, it didn't stop herself from suddenly snapping her hands off his neck and slamming her head forward into his, grinning ear to ear all the while.

Damnit, she thought she had actually gotten control.

... She couldn't see or hear anything, as if she was stuck in a dream, unable to open her eyes or break free of it. But she had felt it. For a instance she had felt sick to her stomach and her heart beat race she knew something had been happening and she stopped it, but now what?

She was trapped.

She shifted a leg up from under her, sitting in a knelt position, as if intending to try getting up. She hadn't moved an inch before now after that headbutt, but now what her next intentions were seemed vague. "Iiiiidiiot~" She muttered, lifting her head to finally reveal the shrunken irises in the center of over-sized oval eyes, still holding that ear to ear grin. "I wanted to see your head go POP!"

All right, maybe her next intentions weren't that vague. But neither was the fact the black blood, ignoring the caked bits staining her skin and clothing, was finally drawing itself away from where had been a stomach injury that would have otherwise taken her life. Now it would be surprising if there was even a scar left. It had done it's job there and well, along with any other various scratches or bruises it could find.

It's task to get rid of the wound was completed.

Now came the task of getting rid of it.

PostPosted: Sat Dec 05, 2009 1:29 pm

A blinding pain shot through him as Maka's head collided with his. The weapon let out a small yell before sliding both of his arms around his Meister's waist, holding on for dear life. If she managed to stand up, he'd be dead, and it was possible that a large number of other people would be too. In the end, she would be taken out by one of the other meisters from Shibusen.

In other words, that would be the end of the Death Scythe Soul Eater and his meister, Maka Albarn.

Damn...I knew she was hard-headed, but... he thought to himself, closing his eyes in concentration. Now that the hardest part (healing the damn wound) was done, he had to save his meister. He had to pull her away from the insanity, away from the Black Blood. If he didn't hurry up, she might not be able to return. The Maka he once knew might not come back.

The white-haired young man immediately cleared his thoughts. He wasn't going to get anywhere, imagining the worst case scenario. He took a deep breath in an attempt to calm himself. She would be back, she would be sane, she would be perfectly fine. Nothing would change, nothing would be different. They'd both be perfectly normal, once again. She's be perfectly healthy, and so would he.

After a few minutes of concentration, he suddenly found himself standing on a sea of a maroon-colored substance. Immediately, he recognized it as the embodiment of insanity...and that's where she was. Soul immediately dropped to his knees and peered through the thick liquid, searching for any signs of his partner.

"Maka! Maka! Where are you?!"

Crimson hues darted from the left to right, straining to see through the dense substance. Eventually, he'd catch sight of her. Eventually, he'd drag her out of the madness. Eventually, she'd be back to normal. No worries, no issues, no problems. Normal life would resume.

But he had a nagging doubt in the back of his mind.....something kept telling him he was too late, or something along those lines. Of course, it might just be his old-worrying self telling him that. But what if it was true...?

Once again, Soul had to clear his thoughts.

Surely she was in here somewhere....surely she could hear him. It would only be a matter of seconds, and he would be able to see her floating up towards him. ...Right?

Her physical form had immediately begun pounding her fists onto him relentlessly, pushing and shoving and shifting around in his grasp, resisting him as much as possible outwardly.

Inside, however...

She heard it. She was positive of that.

She had heard Soul's voice just a second ago. He was around here, some place. But where was he?

Where was she?

What had happened...

She had gotten injured, hadn't she? Badly, she couldn't even move and she wouldn't stop bleeding.

Her injury. Was she dead?

No.

Soul had rescued her, not once, but twice. He gathered her up and got her safely away and then...

And then, then...

The black blood.

As if someone had suddenly hit a pause button on a remote, her physical form froze perfectly still, one fist clenched up in the air while the other rested against his head from her last strike. Her grin fell and disappeared, but her eyes remained wide and wild as they had, if not somewhat lifeless as her conscious.

...Ugh, the hell had she been doing?

Her eyes twitched and she struggled to open her eyes, completely annoyed by this blindness now, forcing her eyelids open to stare out into the cold nothingness of insanity. Instantly everything became clear to her mind once again and she began searching around, kicking her legs as if she was swimming o search through the darkness.

"Soul?! Soul! Can you hear me?" She yelled out, listening for any kind of vocal direction while she followed the softest pulse of his wavelength to try and direct herself properly.

He was here. He was in this insanity as well and she had to hurry. if they both didn't get out of here, who knows what would happen.

Erm, what else would happen.

Searching, searching, searching through the depths of insanity...through the depths of 'crazy' itself. The dense, maroon-colored substance that separated the weapon from his meister...this, my friend, was what most people considered the disease that slowly ate away at one's mental health. It destroyed people, it made them into someone who wasn't able to be recognized. It transformed the way a person thought, the way they acted, the way they functioned, in general. Once you fell down into this madness, it was hard ( if not impossible ) to retrieve you from it. The removal of Maka from the substance would be taxing, that was a fact.

But he didn't care. As if the scythe would allow his meister to stay in this mental hell. As if he'd let her become an insane, raging lunatic. ....Well, she was already a raging lunatic, but he wouldn't let her become an insane one. Soul smirked, flashing those sharp, sharkish teeth of his that looked as if they could easily rip through the flesh of even a human. He couldn't help but let out a small chuckle, knowing that Maka would've smashed his skull in with a dictionary, had he said the 'lunatic' comment to her face.

He had the world's coolest meister. Yeah, that was a fact.

It was then that he head a faint trace of her voice, the light tone he knew by heart. The Death Scythe whirled around and fell to his hands and knees on the water's surface, crimson hues frantically searching for any sign of her physical body. "Maka! MAKA! Where are you?!" Soul continued yelling before squinting through the thick, dark liquid, almost swearing that he had caught a glimpse of her. Without even stopping to think, he flattened his hand and moved it to shove the tips of his fingers down into the madness, snarling with the effort.

"So....dense!" He growled to himself, continuing to shove his hand down through the insanity. Grunts of effort escaped the white-haired man and he pushed his strength to the limit, forcing his hand in up to the wrist. The weapon paused for a moment, shifting his position in order to make it easier to extend his arm into the sea of madness. He let out a yell ( of effort, mind you ) as he shoved his arm down into the substance, stopping once it was in all the way past his elbow. There wasn't any need to go further, it'd wear him out right now. He couldn't forget that he did have to pull his meister out of this........substance.

"Maka! MAKA! Over here, over here!"

He'd keep calling out to her until he felt her hand grab his. He wouldn't stop, not until he knew that his meister had located her weapon.

She could feel it, as if someone had suddenly flipped a switch to put her senses on their highest volumes, she began to have a grip on her surroundings. There wasn't a real up, down, left or right. The black blood trapped people in this substance with no direction to escape it. A person could float lost forever, even after gaining consciousness for the rest of their mortal life in this stupid place.

Unless, of course, they had a partner like hers.

She could feel it, she could feel him. It was soft, subtle at first, like something was interrupting the frequency of his wavelength to hers, but... It was becoming clearer. The pulse of his soul was near. She had let her eyes drift back closed momentarily to study it, to allow her own soul to search after his, using it as a beacon before letting her body drift in the direction, a small smile daring to tug at the two corners of her lips as she did.

This had tall kind of scared her, this plan. She knew the moment had been desperate, she knew how critical her situation had been and that this... Might have been the only way for her to survive. But it had meant not only throwing her own conscious and will into the hand of that Little Oni, it had meant opening a door to allow the same thing to Soul. It had meant not only relying on him to keep her physical body from harming others, but him, all while doing a mental game of tug-a-war for his sanity. It wasn't as if she never suggested using the black blood prior to now, but that was with Soul being in his scythe form and only focusing on keeping himself sane. Maybe it still wasn't much better, but she knew she wouldn't let herself let Soul be dragged down with her, she'd fight, she'd get out, she'd get back to him.

Because like then, he would be at the end of this place waiting for her to hurry back. And she wasn't about to let him down this time around.

She could hear his voice now, he was calling out for her, he was close...

...... There!

Her eyes snapped open, flickering up ahead to see the ripple of light surrounding a blurred figure that seem to be piercing it's way through. her brows pushed together in concentration, keeping her eyes locked now at the familiar blur, lifting her hand from her side to stretch out above her head, floating her way as fast as possible towards him, reaching her fingers out sa far as they'd go for his.

"SOUL!" she yelled out at the top of her lungs, as if afraid somehow her voice would not be able to reach him through the dense surface. the moment her palm brushed the skin of his hand, she grabbed onto him, flinging her opposite hand up to grab onto him as well, holding on tightly, a slight weight beginning to lift it's way from her heart. But neither of them were completely through with this yet.

"Soul," She breathed, narrowing her eyes seriously within the insanity, as if to hide any traces of her previous concern. "Let's get out of here!"

The instant her voice reached his ears, a spark of hope ignited in the depths of his mind, giving him the simple encouragement he needed to drag her out of this miss, to drag her out of this insanity. Of course, the task of removing her from the sea of madness seemed simple enough: grab her hand, yank her out. But, at the same time, he had to keep a strong grip on his OWN sanity, lest he succumb to the devastating effects of the madness. In his mind, it wouldn't be cool to let his partner down like that. It wouldn't be ACCEPTABLE, it simply wasn't an option.

If he fell victim to the black blood, so would she.

And he couldn't let that happen. He wouldn't let that happen.

In the instant that her skin brushed against his, a small triumphant grin made its way onto his face, showing off the sharp, shark-like teeth he had. Soul knew that she'd fight her way to the surface, she'd fight her own way out of the embodiment of insanity itself...with a bit of help from her cool partner, that is. She'd be sane once again, she'd be returned to normal. Maka wouldn't let HIM down like that, and he wouldn't let HER down. The weapon glanced down at her once her second hand fixated itself on his arm, the smile he held before now dissipating. A more serious expression adorned his face as he took a deep breath, preparing himself for what was to come. Now, he had to deal with the hardest part: actually REMOVING her from the influence of the black blood.

He pulled his arm up with as much strength he could possibly manage, slowly beginning to drag his meister up towards him. The Death Scythe gritted his teeth, bracing himself against the substance in order to get some sort of a leverage to help him get her OUT. His body shook with the sheer EFFORT of removing her from the maroon-colored sea of madness as he continuing tugging, eventually freeing HIS arm from the substance, followed by both of her hands. Quickly, he adjusted his position once again, making it easier on himself. With one quick jerk, he pulled her entire body out of the insanity, disturbing the surface of the sea. The momentum he had acquired caused the white-haired young man to fall backwards, his hand still gripping hers.

Before his back hit the surface of the liquid, his eyes snapped open, only to catch sight of his meister's body currently restrained by his strong arms, as a safety measure that was all too necessary earlier. But now....now, she should be somewhat normal, somewhat returned to her previous state of mind. Slowly, almost hesitantly, he loosened his grip on her and leaned away in order to get a good look at her face, crimson hues searching for any sign of the sane Maka he knew all-too-well. His hands lingered by her arms, ready to grab her and hold her down once again, if all traces of insanity's influence hadn't been erased from her being.

"Maka....?"

It was a horrible sensation that followed, the existence of insanity was far less willing to release it's victims then it was to welcome them in, it felt like she was being pulled down through to the bottom of the ocean than being pulled up through the surface of insanity, but it didn't matter. She squeezed her eyes shut and gritted her teeth tightly as she twisted and squeezed her way with Soul's pulling, doing everything within her own power beyond gripping to his arm for her very sanity. She was going to do this, she had done it before, she could do it again! She was going to escape, she was going to get free, she was going to be sane again! Soul's plan had worked, she was alive, now she was claiming that life back!

She let out a painful shout as she felt her hands begin to be exposed through the dense substance and as if it was alive, she swore she felt it push down ten times harder on her for this fact. She could do it, she could do it! Soul could do it, she could do it, they could get out of this, they could get out of this! There was no way, there was absolutely no way...

THERE WAS NO WAY SHE WAS GIVING UP HER SANITY TO THAT DAMN ONI!

It was on that thought she felt her body be pulled through completely in one, mighty heave. And just as she felt freedom, she again felt and saw nothing. Though this time... Her eyes twitched beneath her bangs and her body went limp, the fact she still managed to sit up mostly by herself was miracle. She suddenly felt sticky on her stomach, and the cool grass on her legs, chilly air and most importantly, an all to familiar warmth hovering nearby. She stayed the way she was, trying to catch up with the transition from the inner world of Soul's soul, to her own body and mind again, letting out a soft, groggy noise as her hands rested flat down against the ground in front of her.

It wasn't until she heard her name spoken in a tone oh so well-known, that she reopened her eyes again, this time in her own body. Slowly, she turned her eyes up and over to his face, blinking soft, green spheres into curious crimson hues, an uncertainty etching it's way over her expression as she noticed his own, as if she wasn't sure why he seemed so worried before it all hit home. She let a slow, warm smile slip it's way up onto her face immediately after, nodding her head to him.

"Yeah," she mumbled, finally speaking in response to him calling out to her a moment ago, letting out an all to soft, cheery chuckle. "Sorry, I'm finally back. Did you wait long?"
