I guess there not that "little", but they dont listen!, and if I am stage crew, (hoping not) I'll have to yell at my friends who are only about a year younger than me. Any suggestions to make them listen without turning into the hulk? rofl

Tell them what being a grown up is like. I had a class under control when I told them about income tax. They're mystified by it.

If you're a techie, just lunge out of the dark and scare the daylight out of them. Or you can down right yell at them. Some times I have my techie gauntlet on me and I mystify them.
Techie Gauntlet- 1. two lines of techies waiting for actors to unknowingly walk between them. 2. A arm assesory composed of Flash light, red reading light, laser, pen, paper, dry erase marker, dry erase board, mini screwdriver, tweezers, band aids.

I have a flashlight that my mom got me (she doesn't want me walking to our house in the dark), that has not only an annoying wind up handle, but a bright white light and a flasing while light with red flashing lights on the side. It is quite useful for blinding actors. 3nodding

We just used to intimidate the hell out of the younger members of the cast. We kept trying to kidnap them and lock them in the Green Room, and we'd tell them stories about the Director and stuff he'd supposedly done to cast memebers when they misbehaved.

take a bot of blood-colored paint, paint a spray on the wall, and tell then that that was from the last kid who misbehaved...they'll listen. or you could just bite them. then they really fear you and will do anything to prevent getting bitten again

lol, it's always the parents of the little kids i have a hard time dealing with.
i was working a gig in our theatre with a dance troupe, and the parents treated us like crap and tried to cut our pay drastically because we couldn't deliver the impossible (basically they wanted moving lights and we didn't have any.)
they were probably the worst i've ever had to deal with.
they were the same ones who herded a bunch of little kids into the shop clearly marked DO NOT ENTER. one of the kids ended up breaking his ankle because he was climbing all over our unfinished set pieces x.x
at least he didn't find the chop saw.

Yes, our summer production is filled with small children. This is, of course, because it's The Wizard of Oz. Where else would we find 55 small people to play munchkins?

I probably don't have to deal with little kids for the next four years in college theater. However when I get out of college I'm hoping to start a theater program at my old elementary school. They have an amazingly large auditorum but no theater program. It's in one of those not so well of neighborhoods though.
