*facestairs repeatedly* Oh s**t, it's THAT quote. Ready for this one? Directly from her website. Straight from the horse's mouth. Once more, take that as you will. Quote: (Side note: there are those who think Bella is a wuss. There are those who think my stories are misogynistic—the damsel in distress must be rescued by strong hero. To the first accusation, I can only say that we all handle grief in our own way. Bella's way is no less valid than any other to my mind. Detractors of her reaction don't always take into account that I'm talking about true love here, rather than high school infatuation. I emphatically reject the second accusation. I am all about girl power—look at Alice and Jane if you doubt that. I am not anti-female, I am anti-human. I wrote this story from the perspective of a female human because that came most naturally, as you might imagine. But if the narrator had been a male human, it would not have changed the events. When a human being is totally surrounded by creatures with supernatural strength, speed, senses, and various other uncanny powers, he or she is not going to be able to hold his or her own. Sorry. That's just the way it is. We can't all be slayers. Bella does pretty well I think, all things considered. She saves Edward, after all. Side note/rant over. Back to the story.) ...I'm not even going to work on this one. Ready for a discussion?

Yeah, like all the stories about regular humans dealing with supernatural things make the main character a Sue or Stu. Yeah... No. While nearly all characters have some Sue-ish qualities, they have stuff that balances it out. Like personality, REAL flaws, failing a few times, not being "perfect", stuff like that. Despite her low outlook on humanity, that clearly is transferred to Bella, humans can do a heck of a lot more than her Sparklepires ever did. How long did it take to get from phone to the internet? Cell phones, too, were pretty quick considering how long it took to even get to phones. We've learned how to make computers, how to make pictures from pixels that tell stories and can look real. Air planes, cars, electricity... Can't she see the madness?! ...Feel free to Sparta-kick Meyer here. Right now, it's earned. Oh look, she mentions us! Yes, we believe the stories are misogynistic, for good reasons! In fact, you said one right there, Smeyer. She always is rescued by Edward. ALWAYS! She depends on other people, Alice is the stereotypical teenage girl, complete with shopping obsession. (If you are obsessed with shopping, no offense meant.) The body systems of your vamps are also messed up. Only males can reproduce? Where the f*** is the logic? Wait, what logic?! Same with the female werewolves! It's just... GRAHH!!!!! *takes a few deep breaths* Moving... on... Oh, and Bella handles everything pretty well? Take a look at New Moon, if you would. Months in a catatonic state. She has to have Edward around or she starts getting worried. Either that, or starts wangsting. (Improper use, please let me know.) And I love the fact that she tries the "it's twu luv!" defense in this interview. It's not, it's a high school OBSESSION that is not healthy for either parties. Even if it's true love, you're disrespecting them by doing that sort of stuff to yourself. (See: New Moon) ...I feel like I ranted here. Maybe I shouldn't do these past 12:00 am... Anyway, anything at all you'd like to talk about this?

My God, and I thought I was good at analyzation. *claps* Bravo! Kudos! Sugoi~
There is not really much I can say except that her comments are all contradictory and extremely stupid. I mean, how is it possible for anyone to exist who is this stupid? I can barely even think about it? And she's MARRIED?
I can feel a rant coming on here, but I have to go somewhere anyway, so I will just shut up before I die. Or kill someone particular.

What gets me is that from what I have heard, Myers makes humans in her books look like they're un-exciting. "OH BEING A VAMPIRE WOULD BE SO MUCH BETTER!! I CAN SPARKLE and get SUPER POWERS!!! I will live FOREVVERRR and be so PRETTY!!"....yeah sure...aging is disgusting.
There's even a quote from her book that has Bella saying "But Edward...I'm already DYING, I'm getting OLDER".....F-U BELLA!! and MYERS!!!
She makes aging look disgusting to the reader and being a glitter vampire as the "BEST THING EVER." >< I hate her so much.

While I'm no fan of aging, since I don't want to die, but by the Composer! She's not even 18 when she says that! I'd understand if she was terminally ill or something, but... Can someone get my pins and a cell phone, please? Besides, being a sparkly vamp stinks. I'd rather be one from Hellsing, or be some form of Reaper or Angel. ...Or maybe Composer...
