I'm not sure if this is the type of book you mean but there is a book written by a fairly known psychologist, Viktor Frankl which is called the Meaning of Life. It basically tells his story during his stay at a Concentration Camp and how it helped him develop a new theory in Psychology.

Well, I would suggest my dads text book, Psycology: Fourth Edition by Hockenbury and Hockenbury, and I had another good one, it was a medical diagnosis book, but my dad has it downstairs, and it's kind of late here in the Central Time Zone, so I'll get back to you.

Slaughter House Five. I wrote a paper on the main character's mental state. It was a good read and you could use it for psychology if a fiction book is allowed.

A book "on psychology" or a "psychological thriller"?
If you want a book on psychology, you're gonna have to be a little more specific. There's child/developmental psychology, criminal psychology, abnormal psychology, etr.
