So where are you from and what do you find seems to be the trend in your area?
I'm from Calgary, Alberta (Canada). And we are basically a cow town. It is allowed to wear cowboy hats to the fanciest of occasions. In fact at some it is weird to not. For those of you who know Calgary know of our Stampede every July. And the amount of people who dress cowboy is crazy. I will admit I even get on that band wagon and pull out my cowboy boots.
However outside of the Stampede my city is no where near fashion forward. it is a little sad cause we don't have half the stores I want.

I am not sure if we have any distinct fashion trends here. But I do know what you mean. I'm in a small town too abd there are no stores or anything. Kohls is our only clothing store. gonk

That is brutal. I think I could never live in a small town due to limited shopping :S

I live in a small town just outside of Edmonton - but I drive so it's no big deal when it comes to shopping.
The cowboy trend is the same here- but to a lesser extent.
Generally I think fashion trends remain the same everywhere.

In a country maybe but across the world you can really tell a lot of differences. Even when I travelled to places like Vegas and New York you can really tell their is a totally different trend to the fashion.

They do to some extent. America and Europe is generally the same. There is a slight delay - but it all ends up the same.
I take regular trips to England - I remember going when god awful neon colors were huge there - and not in america - then coming home to neon a month later.
I suppose there are small differences - with different climates and whatnot - but that just makes the difference between skinny jeans and short shorts.
I mean - we are all being told by the same people what is in style - and what is not.

In the little town I live in, the usual fashion of people in my age group,
and I sort of hate to say it, but you can split it up into two groups here.
Black - Urban fashion, lots of bright colors, and a touch of 80's.
In my opinion, some of the best style that I see in this town, especially compared to...
Everybody Else - Hollister, Aeropostale, Ed Hardy, Vera Bradley (hideous things, they are).
Yes, it's so bad that I can just name the brands and not have to describe it. =/
There are some people in this town that step out of that box, but not many.
I live in a town just outside of Savannah, Georgia. Once you go there and into the historic district, which is basically one big art school campus, it gets interesting. SCAD students are as creative and crazy with their clothes as they are with their artwork. Lots and lots of bohemian and vintage, some urban, and some stuff that I don't think I could even put in a category.
With that, there's also lots of suits and professional wear, casual clothing, and even more fun, insane fashion courtesy of the Red Hat Society (gotta love 'em, they're so crazy). Savannah is one big melting pot of fashion.

My biggest problem with name brand clothing is people buy it so they don't have to put effort into a style. So many people will wear Ed Hardy just because it will make them cool. Sigh sad
