So, I've been having a problem lately. Everything I come up with- plots, characters, the lot of it- will not remain viable as writing. In other words, sooner or later, I'll realize that this would really be best expressed as a webcomic, or, better (and more common) yet, a video game. And you know what? I'm really not that likely to produce a webcomic or a video game as a finished product. So... I'm kind of stuck. It's not really writer's block, I can write but... what's the point? It's really just canonical fanfiction.
I don't really expect anyone to come up with a solution, but if someone has some advice, I'd love it.

you could try adapting your ideas in a more screenplay manner. as in adapting them into screenplays. or you could try and get into the video game plot/storyline business... everything i seem to come up with now a days has camera angles so i understand your dilemma (to a point)

Why do you think you won't be doing them as webcomics?

But what makes a webcomic/game more likely than a book or novel?
Anyway. You could write a script, and if you have one or more friends help with the drawings, you'd probably be more likely to make a comic. I find myself frustrated when I actually want to make a comic, but have to do the writing and drawing for it. It becomes over bearing and I give up.

Like I said, it's a question of expression. I mean, if I'm going to write a sit-com-style plot about pregnancy and Nyarlathotep, obviously he's got to have a chapter written from his point of view, and I am really, really not up to writing that. I'm hardly up to drawing it. And in Sio Credesso, the discrepancies between what Grace actually imagines happening and what she narrates is a major plot point, and there's tons of stuff you wouldn't get without the visuals, and hey, wouldn't this be cool as a survival horror game? And then Winter's Requiem is so non-linear and disjointed, there's hardly even a plot, but there are seven, and they work if stuck in a sandbox-style world, and a video game set in something that actually looks like New Mexico would be downright gorgeous. And that's how it happens. I mean, the closest I've gotten to something that could exist as written work is Sum of All Desires, which could exist as a series of vignettes about the Pendant of not!Doom, but you'd still be missing a lot.
The lack of webcomics and video games are a matter of practicality. I can't code. At all. I mean, I'm in Gaia and I'm like "ooh, look, I'm putting things in brackets!" I'm not in touch with the video game scene, and further, most video games come from Japan, and I do not. Add to that the fact that I'm lazy, so if I ever tried to do anything while posting it, I'm sure I'd only let people down. This is a route I do not want to take.
Also, writers! People! Post stuff!

I agree with Ms Ragnarok, if visuals are a big part of your work as you implied, maybe you should try to write the script and find someone who's willing to work with you and who has good drawing skills to be able to create a webcomic. It could yield some very good results if you find the right person to work with. I don't really know what else to suggest since you don't want to immerse yourself in the video game scene...
