She was floating around in my head as a goldrider, but I know that these are not normally (if they ever will be) allowed as customs, so she'll more than likely be submitted as a greenrider.
Either way, critique is much appreciated. Her history needs some fleshing; feel free to do any nitpicking you feel fit.
RIDER INFORMATION Name: Wyona Age: 56 Sex: Female Orientation: Heterosexual Rank: Don’t have any clue yet. Ideas? Physical Description: Although her hair was once a dark brown, it has since given way to several intruding strands of grey and silver. The rich color that was once present has since vanished, leaving a charcoaled grey with only hints of the previous pigment.
Tropical-based bloodroots have given her skin an olive hue and dark brown eyes to match. With her age come the inevitable wrinkles that line her eyes and mouth when she smiles. Although her strong spirit often makes her seem younger, when responsibility bears down, her age becomes apparent; long years of stress have taken its toll on her.
A few years back, arthritis took hold of her fingers. They’re long and knobby - a trait the rest of her body follows to a degree less severe. True to her age, she dresses to cover almost all of her skin even on the hottest of the Weyr’s days. Most of her clothes are muted tones. Browns, greys, and on occasion creams. Personality: Persistent, observant, and a motherly would be the best words to describe her.
Wyona is not afraid to smile or tell her viewpoint, but when it comes down to it, she is a softspoken woman who would rather listen to someone else’s ideas before interjecting her own. She has made it a point to be as unbiased as possible and does her best to consider every point of a situation before acting. This does, however, make it hard for her to make quick, judgmental decisions that are sometimes needed in certain situations.
With abounds of patience, Wyona is the perfect person to go to for someone who just needs to talk or feels their viewpoint needs to be heard in high up places. Authority figures and loud-mouthers don’t seem to deter Wyona, and if she thinks there’s something wrong with a situation, she’s not afraid to request something be done about it even if it takes her months to be heard.
She does not, however, go looking for trouble, and is more than happy to follow under a leader that has shown themselves to be both wise and consistent in the worst of situations. It is very, very rare that she would ever disregard an order from a higher order and she is under the impression that a healthy Weyr needs loyal riders just as much as it needs successful, smart, and patient Weyrleaders.
Her patience shows itself best with children. Since she has never had any of her own, she tends to spoil many of the youth of the Weyr. The stories of youth delight her, and when she’s not drowning herself in writing and other responsibilities, she can likely be found with a group of children.
History: In her youth, Wyona never aspired to be much. She was raised with the knowledge that men went to Crafthalls and held positions of power and authority. This never bothered her; she seemed resigned to accept an arranged marriage and never went searching for any sort of love. With one older sister and one younger brother, Wyona always had something to keep her occupied. At fourteen, it was helping her sister’s marriage. At seventeen, it was housing a greenrider who chanced to visit. Wyona remembers the long, quiet discussions between her parents and the young gentleman.
In the end, she went back with him to the Weyr. Her father approved; her mother did not. Rebellion caught up with her quickly at the Weyr. It took her a long time to adapt to the lifestyle. Same-gender relations both shocked and awed her, and for a few short turns, she found herself growing ideas of exploration that would never have passed under her family’s eye. At eighteen, she Impressed and the world of books and analytical thinking opened up to her.
The years to follow formed a much different person than her youth had revealed her to be. She turned into a quiet leader with a calm voice but a stern hand. Her friends were few and close, and it was rare that there were any secrets to discover about her. It was common for she and Hers to mingle with the public and it lead to her to be fairly well known. She took on other’s responsibilities wherever she could, especially if it led to writing.
By her fiftieth turn, however, her overachieving attitude had taken a toll on her body, and it started to become fairly clear that if Thread began to fall, she may not be useful as she once was. She discussed the matter with her Impressed, and Wyona’s solution was to take an interest in dragon healing. It is this sort of ‘retirement’ that has kept her focus in the last turns, and will continue to be her main focus in the future. Pets: None Other/Talents: Wyona is very often seen with tea and eats mostly hot soups. She claims it’s good for warming the soul and opening up the heart. Picture: N/A for now
DRAGON INFORMATION Name: Isoldeth Color: Gold or Green ( I don’t have any idea on patterns or color-tones; I might leave it up to the artists discretion.) Physical Description: Isoldeth is a shorter and bulkier dragon with a little bit of a belly because Wyona lets her eat a little more than she should. Her wings are on the larger side to help get her more muscular form of the ground. With big, broad paws, Isoldeth is anything but the beauty she considers herself to be. The air is her true calling, but on the ground she waddles and sometimes forgets the length of her tail. Personality: Isoldeth is a very judgmental dragon, and she’s not afraid to speak her distaste of someone. Upon first meeting, she decides whether she likes or dislikes someone, and it takes a lot of for someone to change her mind over the matter.
To those that she’s fond of, Isoldeth shows herself to be vain, but moderately pleasant company. She enjoys attention of all sorts from those she likes, and is often very physical in her affections. For those scared of larger dragons, she’s perhaps not the best to be around as she doesn’t seem to understand that waddling up to a friend and shoving them with her nose is potentially very frightening for the human receiver. Friends, however, be wary. Isoldeth does not like to be told that she is wrong. She is under the impression that she is quite wise, and will often push her views on others. These views, and advice to go with, are often not the best things to follow. Perhaps she’s just trying to help, but she’s not very good at it.
Under the circumstance that someone gives her a cold shoulder or is on her ‘dislike’ list, they get to see her temper. It is not uncommon for the dragon’s eyes to go from blue to red constantly during the day, and many of the other dragons get to hear her loud mental anguish if someone she truly hates is in range.
This uncontrolled temper and haughty nature means Isoldeth is quick to make choices. She leaps into situations very often prematurely, and she often has little forsight and may not realize the outcome until it’s too late.
The worst of her tempers shows up during Flights. Isoldeth is under the impression that she should have any male dragon she wishes. She folds under the gaze of bronzes like soft caramel and Faranth help any other female that’s in the area that might be considered competition. These females go instantly on Isoldeth’s ‘hate’ list, and if they get close, she’ll resort to angry bellows, teeth, and claws to get them away from her. Other: WHY ME? Isoldeth chose Wyona for her consistent attitude an unbiased ability to listen and be observant. As a vain dragon, Isoldeth appreciates Wyona’s attention to detail, and she knows she’ll always be in the best of care under Wyona’s watchful eye. In addition, Isoldeth latched on to Wyona’s ability to listen as Isoldeth very often has something to complain about, but she knows Wyona will hear her out. In that same sense, Isoldeth picked Wyona under the assumption that the woman would bring them up in the ranks and help get her the respect Isoldeth thinks she deserves. The two balance each other out with eloquence. Isoldeth’s brash decisions are sometimes needed in tight situations, and she’s gotten Wyona out of a pickle or two where the rider’s slow decision making would have left them worse for the wear. However Isoldeth’s temper often gets the best of her, and it’s up to Wyona to soothe her ails and bring light to a situation where anger, quick choices, and judgmental feelings may not always be the best option.

^^ All sounds awesome to me as a green, or a gold if there is ever a customing chance for them <3 I'm not sure what her rank would be as you say she's semi-retired, possibly she would still be a wingrider but she might be something else.
If you did apply for her as a gold, though, the name abbreviation would need to go. To the best of my knowledge female riders don't usually shorten their names, but they are allowed to do so if they wish unless they have golds.

Tawny is right; gold riders never use the honorific (nicknames are different, of course). And yeah, queen dragons are flatsale-only. Lei's made it pretty clear that custom golds will never happen.
However, Wyona looks like she'd make an excellent green-rider. The Weyr definitely needs good followers.

I have a minor grammatical nitpick: “Isoldeth is under the Impression that she should have any male dragon she wishes.” The ‘I’ in Impression should be lowercased to impression.
Other than that, she’s wonderful. Can’t say I have anything more to offer.
I must say that I’ve a HUGE soft spot for elderly Goldriders, so I would adore seeing her with a gold, even if it’s not to be. :3

Tawny and Kimie Ah! Excellent. Well, under the chance the Armageddon gets here, I'll keep that in understanding for gold riders. I'm very glad to hear she'll be good to go as a green! That was part of my worry when typing her up.
gift Thank you for catching that! I'm in such a habit of capitalizing impression that it slips out sometimes.
Thanks so much for stopping by to off input, you guys! <3
