There weren't many things in Hinata's life that she had done that she would deem "Stupid." She was always the quiet and reserved type, not a trouble maker. Maybe that's why he attracted her so much.
Well, that and his kind nature. And fine, his looks did have some part in it. The guy was a walking Adonis, with that olive tan and golden hair, not to mention those bright blue eyes that seemed to search the soul, deeper than even the byakugan. He could have made any woman who took the time to look melt. But she was glad no one really did. It meant she had more for herself.
But now that she was standing here, she had to wonder... WHAT ON EARTH POSSESSED HER TO DO THIS?
It was ridiculous to think of taking on Pein, especially without backup. It was stupid, one of the dumbest things she had ever done, and she was still wondering why she was still here. She was shy, quiet, little Hinata-chan, who always took the role of backup. She hated being on the front lines, loathed it even.
But something about seeing Naruto like that, the one person she looked up to no matter what, the one person she loved... Something about seeing that had caused her to snap. Without even stopping to think, she jumped in front of Naruto, preventing Pein from killing him, or whatever his aim was at the moment.
To be honest, she was probably the only one who could handle Pein. Her attacks would destroy him, after all, once the charka receptors were gone, he was just another dead body. And Juukin style was made to target chakra. But Pein had experience, and a lot more chakra.
"Hinata-chan!"
His voice snapped her out of her small monologue with a sudden realization.
She had done it.
She had managed to change.
"Get out of here! You're no match for him!"
Well, he was right, but someone had to protect him. And she wanted to be the one.
And this was the time.
"I'm not afraid to die protecting you, because I love you."
