At the moment, the trio was at the park. The park was nice. The park was quiet. The park was relaxing. And, you know, the park usually didn’t have any crazy wackos or murderers, which made it pleasant. Usually. This made it one of the few places that Kang Ling visited often. Calm and tranquil, she could rest under the cool shade of a tree and peacefully read a book. It was a small slice of paradise and she hoped that the park would never change its calming atmosphere. Too bad that she was going to have a smattering of chaos rather than her usual quiet surroundings.

But maybe it just came with being partnered with such unique WEAPONs.

Indeed, the five-foot-four Chinese had brought the twins to the park with her. She figured that it would be a good idea to let them soak in the soothing aura around the park for a bit. Although not exciting, it was still enjoyable.

Caine was rather pleased with this arrangement. A change from the boisterous SHIBUSEN and “exciting” (not exactly, as they always ended so quickly and easily) missions, he was glad that Kang Ling had decided to take them to the park. This meant that he wouldn’t have to keep hitching a ride on his brother’s back and could instead lounge beside his TECHNICIAN, contently dozing of. It was just his luck. There weren’t that many people here today.

Meanwhile, his elder sibling was off being his cheerful and goofy self. He bent down to examine the flowers, stared at the little insects that fluttered by and amiably chatted with the ducks. You know. The usual.

Until something bonked him in the back of his head and he confusedly looked around, whirling and twirling to see who or what it was.

It had been Jake's plan to go to the park. They were fun and usually not stressful in the least. Of course anything that had Leon involved became slightly stressful but that was one of the boys character flaws, and Jake would let that pass. Actually it had been a lot of work to get the annoyed technician out to the park in the first place. He'd been too busy with 'other things that would be of greater use of his time' but with enough wheedling and manhandling Jake had emerged victorious. So they'd come to the park, Jake with a book and a few cans of beer soda... and Leon with his skateboard and notebook that held all his tactical strategies.

The beginning to a perfect day... or so it would seem.

"You'll thank me later for dragging you out here." Jake said cheerfully. He carried his six-pack by his fingers, dangling over his shoulder. In his other hand he carried a beat up paper back sci-fi novel. "The fresh air is good for you." Christ he sounded like his mother. "And you know, you keep saying you like to skate but I've never actually seen you do anything with that board."

Though it was clear that some things were done to it as the bottom of Leon's skateboard was looking fairly trashed. Probably from too much grinding. "The only reason I'm here is because you promised not to b***h tomorrow when we do training." Leon's words were edged with annoyance. "And I don't normally skate with other people, they just get in the way. It's not a social activity, it's a physical sport."

"Hah hah hah, skateboarding isn't a sport, I don't care what the X-games have to say about it. It's an activity. A really ACTIVE activity, but that's about it." Actually, Jake would completely agree that skateboarding was a sport, but he had to find his kicks somewhere and riling Leon was one of his favorites.

"Yes well, just because you play music with some other untalented morons doesn't make you an actual band, it just makes you a public nuisance." The fact that Leon was even willing to joke with Jake was a sign that they were obviously taking a step in the right direction.

Still, Jake had to defend himself somehow, so looking at the beer soda and the book, he decided which was safer. And chucked his worn paper back at Leon's head. But Leon, being a talented strategist, had predicted his course of action and skillfully tilted his head to the side so that the book went speeding by. Watching it fly through the air and nail some poor kid in the back of the head.

"d**k." was all Jake said to Leon as he approached the other guy."Hey, hey, sorry about that." He bent down and picked the book up from the grass. "Guess it got away from me. Sorry, again." Faintly her could hear Leon nearly snicker, but such things were below him.

Rainer confusedly whirled around, wondering what exactly had bonked him in the head. Not like the object had been all that heavy, like some dictionary or something (even something that large wouldn’t be able to crack his thick skull anyways, not even a concussion). Finally looking down he spotted a battered book. Just as the eighteen-year-old was about to bend down and pick up the fallen piece of writing, another hand grabbed it before he did. He curiously lifted his head to meet a male older than himself.

Eyes inquiringly stared at the stranger as he straightened up his back, gaze focused on the other male, who apologized. It took him a few seconds to realize that he was referring to having the book roughly smack into his head. He laughed it off and raised his hands. “Nah, that’s alright! No harm done,” he replied and angled his head away from them. “For a moment I thought the sky had fallen,” Rainer mumbled with utmost seriousness. Then the blonde reverted back to his regular cheerful self. “Anyways! Hi! I’m Rainer. Rainer Moreau.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the twin connection, Caine snapped open his eyes, startled. Shock slowly transforming into the regular disinterest, he sighed and rose up. Kang Ling noticed this and turned to look at her partner. “I-Is s-something w-wrong?” she innocently questioned, placing her novel down and taking note to save her place.

A hand reached up to a spot on the back of his head and he blinked. Spotting his twin near the pond of ducks with another stranger (this was starting to occur a lot lately, or so Caine thought) and he rolled his eyes. Was that one of those times that twins tended to have with each other? Well, he didn’t like it one bit. Feeling a lack of a tender spot on his cranium, he eventually shook his head and lied back down. “Nope. Nothing at all,” he curtly replied and closed his eyes once more.

Light brown eyes followed the direction of his fleeting gaze and spotted Rainer conversing with another person. Whether the other was a stranger or an acquaintance, Kang Ling was unaware of. From what she had gathered, he tended to act the same to everyone regardless of relation. She felt a bit of panic, wondering if he would be alright by himself. Stanger danger and all that, but she trusted him and she turned back to her book.

He could always holler if he needed them, right? Right?

Jake laughed cheerfully and tucked the book back under his arm. "Nice to meet ya." He put his hand out for a shake, his black wrist warmers covering up some of the tattoos that peppered both his arms. "Jake Lightfeld. Seems my aim was off, was trying to hit my Tech with the book but he dodged so really it's his fault." Jake gestured at Leon with his head, beckoning him. "Leon, get over here and say hello." Lord in heaven, he had to do everything for that kid.

The technician frowned but followed suit and walked over to stand near the two of them. Crossing his arms over his chest he shrugged gracefully almost, "Hello." After a moment's pause and the clearing of Jake's throat he added, "Sorry about the book." There he'd said everything required of him, could he go now. Sometimes it felt more like Jake was his older brother than his partner and he didn't care for the feeling in the least. He needed to be the one in command but you just couldn't command someone like Jake Lightfeld. At another prompt from Jake he remembered to introduce himself. "Leon."

"Well he's just Mary Sunshine isn't he?" Jake chided as he adjusted his stance to better support his hand carrying the beer. "He's sour by nature don't let him get to you. I don't." The older man gestured toward the expanse of concrete near them. "Why don't you go hit the pavement with your board Leon?" He felt like cutting him some slack, after some of the latest arguments they'd had, the kid probably deserved it.

"Nah, not in the mood." There were already too many people over there and undoubtedly one of the would probably try to talk to him. If he stayed here with Jake and whoever this other person was, what was his name, Rainer? Anyhow, if he stayed here, Jake would do the talking and he could just stand there and play the silent one. He'd work on mission strategies in his head.

"Suit yourself man."

He broadly beamed and gladly took his hand with his own, firmly gripping it. His head perked up at the mention of a “tech”, his thoughts instantly connecting it with a technician. “Technician? So do you go to Shibusen as well? Both of you?” inquired Rainer, although the boy already knew the answer. Just what else could it be? Nothing else came to mind.

His appearance was sort of puzzling though. Wasn’t Jake a smidge too old to be attending school? Well, not like the blonde was exactly the best person to judge others. There wasn’t much going on in his noggin, after all. It would be more apt to ask Caine rather than Rainer.

A boy, assumingly “Leon” approached them and Rainer politely nodded his head at the lad. “Hey.” He reluctantly apologized and he smiled back at the younger man. “Oh no, that’s alright! No harm done. Caine says I have a thick skull, so it’s alright!” he chirped and playfully knocked on his head, conveniently unaware of the words actual meaning. (Although it was true that the older twin had quite a hard head, a book was practically nothing against his skull). “It’s a pleasure to meet you. I’m Rainer!

At Jake’s remark, he laughed it off with the wave of his hand. “That’s fine! My brother is sort of the same, you could say. When he speaks, he does it a bit bluntly and doesn’t care how rude he is. A bit on the serious side, too,” he explained with a shrug before he grinned. Then he jabbed a thumb towards his technician and sibling. “The guy who looks like me over there.

There was a brief moment of silence before he spoke up again. “Wanna get a bite to eat? We brought extras.

(( Pretend Kang Ling brought some picnic basket. I wanted them to have a picnic just now. -shotshot- ))
