Land of the Sun Dyed Red Rank: One Antagonist: Miss Alice NPC Accompaniment: Yes Souls available: Mission: SUCCESS/FAILURE
Oh yes, Japan. Arashi’s homeland! It felt good to be back in the country he was born in, to be able to speak his native tongue. His English was flawless, which also meant that his Japanese was probably getting rusty. It was nice to get the chance to speak his first language once more and to mingle with his fellow Japanese.
He hung around the front tables placed in front of a popular maid café. Hardly embarrassed at being seen in such a place, it was also getting dark and the streets conveniently cleared for the mission. Arashi lounged in a chair, his violin case carefully leaning against the table. Arms behind to rest on the chair, he had his headphones on as usual. A slender hand lazily reached up to twirl a lock of his long ponytail as he waited for the pair to show up. “If they’re late that’s going to be so troublesome,” he drawled.

"We'll be late." Leon's voice sat flat across the air as he increased his pace. "Keep up Jake, I don't want to start off wrong." Although they already were getting off to a bad start. Thanks to Jake's last minute arrival at the school they had been late setting out for Kyoto. He claimed that he'd been jamming and had lost track of time, but Leon suspected that nerves were getting the better of his weapon. And that was not something he could afford to deal with at the moment.
"Chill, Leon. We'll be fine." And though Jake did a very good job of masking his unease, Leon was dead on about the nerves. Sure, he'd been a few scraps in his life, he wasn't a complete square. But this was something... well it was something much more difficult to deal with. He hadn't misunderstood when he'd decided to go to Shibusen, he knew that in essence the teams killed people who's souls could become demon eggs or something. But honestly, then, he'd still thought of the whole thing as neat story, but the more he'd seen the school and what exactly it was that happened there. The more apprehensive he'd got about the whole matter.
"It's too late for second thoughts." Leon stated, he'd stopped because Jake had, and just seemed to look rather harshly at his partner. "You signed up for this and you knew what it was. Now get a move on; Arashi's right ahead and I don't want him seeing you mope like that." It was a testament to their partnership that both of them knew that somehow that was Leon being supportive. "Don't mess this up Jacob."
"Hey, that's Jake to you!" Smiling, he took a few steps forward to stand by Leon's side. "Well c'mon then, wouldn't want to be late or anything." Laughing he approached the young man sitting in front of a certain style of cafe. "This the place Arashi?" He asked hopefully.

If Arashi recalled correctly, this certain pair he had actually given a brief tour of the school to them. Lucky for the Asian he hadn’t given that many tours to others. This specific duo in particular stood out in his mind. After all, it wasn’t everyday that he met a pair that had a recently enrolled twenty-two-year-old WEAPON. One of the oddest stories he could recall off the top of his head. At least the guy (Jake, was it?) liked to play the guitar. He didn’t think that many students played an instrument. They tended to quit their lessons a few years in. Only a small percentage continued on to be able to play well. It was a pity, to say the least. Arashi very much enjoyed playing his violin. If only people could stick to learning an instrument a little while longer.
His dark blue eye wandered to the side, spotting the designated team he would be accompanying for the day. A smiling Jake and serious Leon, greeting him, he lazily grinned at them both, lolling his head to the left. “If it ain’t Jake and Leon. First mission, I hear? You better not freeze up, or I’ll have to step in.” Arashi playfully smirked. He then gave them a small nod and pointed a thumb at the door entrance. “Yup. Just go through the door and into the backroom and you should meet little Miss Alice.”

Good, straight into business. Leon squared his shoulders and gave the death scythe a nod. None of that pep talk nonsense for this team, they'd soldier on with or without help. He'd make sure of it. Nerves of steel, Leon looked at the building with cold calculation, when he left this building he would have taken the first step toward his goal of becoming a master technician. It was a moment to remember.
"Hah hah, like either of us would freeze up." Jake chuckled while his insides churned. "Some cafe though huh?" Looking up at the sign for the maid cafe, he wondered if there'd be any bystanders inside. Well it didn't really matter, if they were only going to the back room then hopefully no one would be there to get caught up in the action. "Boy first mission, bet these are a bit of a bore for you huh?"
Leon merely glanced at his partner, he was talking to much, and they had work to be done. "Stop stalling Jake, transform so we can get going."
"Hey, if there are people in there they'd probably freak out at seeing a man walk in with a sword, so let's just go in normal and I'll change when the action starts okay?" Jake gave a hopeful smile. The truth was his nerves were still settling. "It's not stalling, it's smart action plan thinking. Thought you'd appreciate that Leon."
"...whatever..." Frowning, the Technician turned to the entrance and opened the door. The inside was almost mildly reminiscent of a burlesque and that was something new for the young man. Still, he had no time for such matters and marched toward the back room where the target was supposed to be. His motto: Get in, get the job done, get out. Holding the door handle he gave a small nod to his weapon. "Ready?"
No. "Yes." Jake gave one quick nod and tried to prepare himself for the worst.

As he expected, Leon straightened up and immediately began to get serious (not like he was never serious, right?) about the mission. It was nice to know that he was focused on the mission, but that didn’t exactly equal success either. Even the most determined and those dead set on pulling off their mission with a hitch could turn it into a disaster. It all came down to one or two basic factors, really, or so Arashi thought.
When the time finally came for it, can you kill your target? Can you take their life? Do you have the ability to survive in actual combat? If you lacked either of these, the man figured the team would be as good as dead. Well, they would be good as dead if he wasn’t there to make sure they didn’t get themselves chopped to pieces or some other gruesome way to die. If one thought that a case like that didn’t happen often, boy were they wrong. This revelation wasn’t surprising. Regular people weren’t exactly brought up to murder people, born from a known TECHNICIAN/WEAPON family or not. He had seen his fair share of that happening to those from either background.
Arashi carefully watched as the two conversed with each other. Despite Jake’s constant smiling, his behavior got him suspicious. He turned to watch the pair walk towards the door and he called out to them in a quiet voice, for fear of alerting the murderer. “Jake! I’d follow your TECHNICIAN’s advice if I were you!”
The second they opened the door there was laughter. Inside the room stood a young woman donned in a black maid’s costume. With bloodied hands holding onto a large kitchen knife, she stood over the corpse of a young girl’s body. A hand slowly reached up and licked the blood off her fingers, insanely giggling. “Oishii~ (Delicious~)”

That was disgusting. Jake pulled a face and tried not to avert his eyes. But that was more than revolting, he'd seen a man vomit and then fall asleep in his own alcohol induced puke and it hadn't been worse than this. "Dude, that is one crazy as hell chick." And why was she talking to them? "What the hell did she say?" There was something deep inside him that said he didn't want to kill a girl, insane or not. Old fashioned? Maybe, but chivalry never went out of style.
"Shut up Jake, change now." The command was bit off at the end as Leon braced himself. This was serious, and all his partner could do was asking ridiculous questions!? "What are you waiting for?"
"Can't we... you know... talk her out of killing people?"
Leon's face snapped into lines of anger. "What the hell are you talking about!?" Growling he turned so that he could glare at his partner while he kept the crazed maid in his line of sight. "This is what it is, this is what you signed up for, now change goddammit!" Leon could not believe his bad luck, how could his weapon be getting cold feet?
"Uhhh..." Jake merely frowned and looked again at the girl. She seemed harmless enough... you know if you didn't count the bloody knife and dead body and her weird fixation with licking the blood off her fingers like sugar.

Alright, he couldn’t help it. That weird feeling that Jake had given off before the pair disappeared into the desolate building was worrying. He had to admit, Arashi sort of liked Jake. Sometimes the Death Scythe thought this school was crawling with serious and dark people. That was clearly not the case, he had the brain cells to know that, but it seemed that a lot of the people he knew were pretty serious. Alexis and Michael being prime examples of this. As they were coworkers, he often saw the two and it was sort of depressing to be surrounded by their similar personalities.
Checking up on the duo, he secretly slinked after that. Casually positioning himself in the shadows, he watched Jake and Leon converse with each other. Without even glancing at the man’s face Arashi could tell that he was apprehensive about the mission. “If I were you, I’d forget the fact that these people are even human. You’re going to fail otherwise,” he whispered, “Now hurry up and change into a weapon before she no—too late.”
The blonde woman’s wide, crazy eyes spun around to meet Jake and Leon. She pulled her hand away, leaving bloody finger marks on her face. “Anata dare? (Who are you?)” Miss Alice questioned with the twist of her lips, ending with a gaping mouth. An arm dropped to her side, fabric swishing and she grasped her weapon with both hands. “Maa maa. (Well, well.) (I’ll just kill you and that’ll solve everything!)” she chirped, psychotically grinning with the sharp tilt of her head.
High-pitched peals of laughter escaped her lips and she charged and widely swung forward.
