Welcome to my Cabin. It is decorated with my plants and seashells. My children live here, and others are welcome for a short rest as well. I am Calypso, A goddess of the Sea and Wind.

Delphine put her suitcase on the first bunk bed. She sighed. She felt so alone.

Delphine walked over to the windowsill, watching the moon lace grow out. The cabin was covered in mystical signs, and silver white flowers. She crawled onto her bunk and drew the blue-silver covers up to her chin. She could hear running water. She closed her eyes.

Calypso was suddenly perched on the window sill, like a great white bird. She slid off it and moved over to the pewter jug by the small ingrown pond. She poured a glass of pure water into a cup, and placed it on the bedside table of Delphine's bed. She kissed her gently on the forehead and flicked a hand. White roses sprung in random places.

Lyra found the girl sleeping by the windowsill. She placed the shield near her, and tip toed out. Before she closed to door she said.

Delphine awoke, stretching. Her hand hit something. She looked over and saw a massive silver shield, engraved on the front was a lonely looking cave, with the small figure of a young woman watching a boat slowly sail away. She instantly felt sad. Then she yawned. "Do not look at it for to long, Del. Or you will fall asleep again," a voice said.

Calypso was sitting on the edge of the silver fountain in the corner, her hands on her knees. It was hard to believe she was Delphine's mother, for she didn't look much older than 15 or so. "It is my gift to you," Calypso said softly. "But you should thank the girl Lyra. The shield was of her making. If you look closely (not for too long, mind.) You will see that is Odyssey's ship. And that there is-"

"-You." Delphine finished. "You watched him sail away. You didn't stop loving him, even though he couldn't stay. That's not fair," Delphine said. "You didn't do anything wrong, loving him. And he left you."

"It wasn't his fault," Calypso said. "He had a wife, he had a family. And I still loved him for leaving. He was a good man, staying away from me. Men can't think as clearly as they'd like to when I'm around. You'll find that quality in your Aphrodite relatives, as well. Anyway, it proved he was smart, being able to leave," Calypso's green eyes darkened. "His bones lie in the Underworld. He lived a mortal life. Don't you think that's better than staying with me forever on the island?"

"But you never stopped loving him." Delphine said slowly.
"Of course not! But even so, the pain has been eased. I'd like to think that a part of him still loved me too, as he was sailing back."
Delphine frowned. It still didn't seem fair to her, but then again, in the legends, Calypso never really got what she wanted. Maybe it had to be that way. She picked up the cold shield. As she did so, Calypso disappeared.
