So as stated in the thread "Rob Time" I want to throw together a council dedicated to the education and advancement of socialist thought among the newer members. This is to be participatory thing, so anyone who would like to join can join, so long as they are willing to follow through with the selection process of texts and the follow up with discussions. On this council however I would like to see at least Gallenger (when he has the time) and Gracchvs on this council.
Here's how it will function.
Day one of the week we propose a question such as
"What is the Marxist stance on women?"
Then we will give a supplementary text that pertains to the Marxists stance on women. At the end of the week those assigned to the reading will then post their answer to the question and the senior members will then participate in the discussion.
Alternatively the EC can discuss other methods as to how the process should work. But for now thats what I've thrown together.
Now who would like to volunteer for this glorious position!?

I'll volunteer, even though my revolutionary politics will likely get drowned out by the resurgent Kautskyism in the guild.

I need some clarrification. You say "those assigned to the reading", would this be the council, or would the council be assigning readings to other members?
Also, Rob, that's a badass sig image. I want it...

Also, Rob, that's a badass sig image. I want it... I think it means that the EC will read, and they will be bound to post on the reading, and no one else will, though there is an expectation that the 'senior members of the guild' will participate in the discussion.

Nah I think perhaps some of the ruling council should step out of the education council Gracchvs, I don't wanna center all influence and power on the same people and create dependence on those people. Though Gallenger may be "Kautskyist" he's probably the best educator here out of all of us. I therefore nominate him to be on it or head said council.

I haven't heard that many wrong ideas out of him that pertain to the education he would certainly give.

The right ideas, in this context is Marxism. Gallenger, despite knowing the language is not a Marxist. I would point out that this is also the case with Comrade Mann here. And before we get into the 'who made you the god of marxism' s**t I will say this: I hold views which are contradictory to theirs. Only one of us can be correct. Of course I consider myself to be most correct. The correct term is Kautskyian, or if you wish to insult, Kautskyite. Karl Kautsky was a man who spoke Marxist words but refused all revolutionary practice and actively propagandised against revolution.

Marxism cannot be the only correct information to be conveyed in a non-Marxist (or rather, non-strictly-marxist) Guild. Therefore your complaints about him not being the proper brand of Marxist are rather meaningless.

It has nothing to do with where the teaching occurs.

It has nothing to do with where the teaching occurs. And I was unaware that Marxism would be the only thing taught here. I was under the impression that non-Marxist communism would be touched upon, and not just in the "oh, these guys exist too, but they're st00pid" way.
