  Footsteps in a CathedralPerhaps it is a parishioner coming to pray late at night for a savior, or a priest doing his final round before retiring for the night. Whatever the reason and whomever the source, it is a beautiful and haunting noise. There is the clicking heel-toe of a hard-soled shoe traveling down a hall or through the pews, and the wide space around and above causes sweet echoes to ring and fill the air.

SOUND. Footsteps in a cathedral
MUTATION. None
PERSONALITY. A quiet and serious child, quick to forgive and never one to judge. Clearly, the location (and thus acoustics) of the sound have deeply impressed themselves upon him. Something of an "angel" without actually being one, other parents are likely to waggle a finger at their own children in his presence. This all sounds well and good, but he will appear emotionally cold, loving everyone equally and thus having trouble creating meaningful relationships. Conflicts will undoubtedly be rife, if not one-sided, because of his strange social graces. The only people Malachi will truly open up to (barring any romances) would be his own mother and her God. They are the only two permitted to judge him and thus, in his mind, mother is God.

LOCATION. Rathkeale, Co Limerick, Ireland
PERSONALITY. Rosheen relentlessly puts others before herself. She doesn't like others to worry and will brush off even the worst of accidents as best she can. She tries to make friends and strangers alike comfortable in any situation, whether or not she is rather uncomfortable herself. Her alone time is enjoyed, though, and either spent quietly reading or exercising. As evidenced already, Rosheen is a bit of both ends of the spectrum. She likes white lace and dainty sweets, but can't get enough exercise or dirty outdoor exploring. She is a well-rounded individual, and very happy. When it would come to interaction with her strangely-born son, Rosheen would relentlessly teach hm and submerge him in Irish culture and any others she can find. She has considered having children her entire life, but lacked the proper boy to father them, and thus Malachi would be viewed as nothing but a gift from God himself.

Now she bakes by order and donation and makes the deliveries herself. Both of her parents are still alive and happy in Dublin.

I like the sound that you picked out.
But I find that there's a lot of lacking information here. Important things like how does Rosheen feel about the Song children, her opinions towards overall things. How she would deal with Malachi. And in return how Malachi would react towards his mother.
The relationship between the parent and child is really essential to development of each of their characters, and it's something I'd definitely like to know more about.
It's not like I'd want to see it set in stone, but just a more in depth idea of how they'd interact with each other so I can imagine who they are more. Right now I only have a very vague understanding of what they're like, the bare basics. And for me, personally, that's not enough to be able to really appreciate these characters.
I'm not trying to sound mean, I hope I'm not coming off that way.
But I hope this is helpful. (:
