Ok . . . after thinking about it if I had a daughter and she really wanted to do it and showed me that she had true passion for it I would allow her to and support her through it

well i think its ok but some mothers get to caught up but its really bad when the father is right into it but alot of those kids love it i seen an epsiode about a lil boy and his mum made him quiet cuz he was turning 6 and he was right sad bout it

Woah, are we talking about a show? How young are these girls?
Because I know a girl (little sister of my best friend), she's been in pagents for years now and taken home a few awards. She seems to be a really bright girl and not too selfish or anything.
I agree that pagents for, like, really young girls are just dumb, but what's so bad about a pagent for those who are a little older. It's just another opportunity for girls to play princess. I think if the parents get too serious about it, then it's a problem.

yes its a show and the girls are hell yeah young and they get all dressed up and look much older than what they are and such

God I so hate that! Girl are growing up WAY too quickly nowadays, and their parents certainly aren't helping that process. Y'know it's kinda the media's fault too, because look who we're giving these girls for role models. It's like they learn early to try and be much older than they are.
