Anything revolving around the monsters in the Breath of fire series is to be discussed here. smile

The worst monster at the time had to be those Fire and Ice Slugs in the dump. Those things would kill me constantly because of the breath weapons. Worst of all, peco was with you. Actually, I could've chosen not to pick him, but at the moment I wanted to play around and see what he could do. He was always the first to die.

Another monster I hated were the Specters. Thanks to them stealing mp, I hardly had enough to fight whatever boss was coming next!

My favorite Foe has to be the Golden Eggs. I hate that they run, but their attacks and the money they lug around are awesome!

Weirdest looking monster has to be those Volcano monsters. You find them in some mountain area and in the Desert. They're tough, but funny as can be to look at. I couldn't helping wondering if the sculpted butt cheeks was a dare. xD

Just a note while I'm at it; there's a new Enemy Database guide up for BoF3. The author has been working away at the game data and has found quite a lot of info; it's pretty interesting!

One of the worst monsters I can think of are the ones that can be buffed indefinitely. For instance, if you use a fire spell on the Lava Men in Mt. Zublo, they get a 60% boost to their Str, Def, Int, Agi and EXP every time (plus they can start casting Inferno). Granted you would only want to repeat this so you can get 64k EXP after 14 fires (and you would come prepared with a million Soul Gems and Fire immunity on everyone) but they are definitely the strongest monster in III. For IV, there's a similar monster called a Lavoid.


One of my favorite fights is against the giant monsters in BoF2. They were huge!

I hate those guys, with their stupid dodges. Haha.
