How much of your wardrobe (including accessories) have you made or altered in some way? Is this something you would consider?
And, feel free to post pictures! (In fact, please do)

I love DIY! I love to knit, sew up old fabrics into something new (I've made shirts, skirts, purses and an eye mask...yeah), create hair accessories for my little cousins, and throw together costumes at the last minute.

I'll post some pictures once I find the stupid cable lol

Wow, knitting! I'm horrible at it- all I can make are scarves. I do love sewing though (I used to make only costumes, but I'm branching out). I'll post pictures when I can.

My ability to knit is nill. Unless someone else starts it for me I can't even rock a scarf!

However I am working on developing my mad skills with the sewing machine!

Currently I have kept my sewing to cosplay and a couple skirts
My latest cosplay!

However right now I am sewing a white dress which I will then tie dye. I have the dress complete I just have to sew the back up and put the zipper in and decide if it needs straps!

I know you guys said that your knitting is the best, but check out the knitting patterns at this blog: http://www.treatsandtreasures.com/

They're pretty easy and great for beginners.

My problem is that I love to improvise- not great when it comes to knitting a pattern. Also, I love complex things; no "quick and easy" for me. I'd like to learn to sew couture someday.

I really ought to post pictures of some of my projects, the most recent of which being a backpack.

Sorry that I have not posted recently. I have been ill. But I am back I think. As for DIY all I'm kind of lacking in it. Which sucks sense one of my career ideas is fashion design

Haha I understand, but you got to learn how to walk before you can run.

Well, I have been sewing since I was. . . hmmm. I started using the machine at eight or nine, but I don't know when I learned to hand sew.

I make and alter my own jewelery. Clothing, not so much. I'm terrible at sewing, and haven't gotten the chance to learn yet. I was going to make a dress for myself this year, until I found how how expensive fabric and patterns are. o_o; It was so much cheaper to go to the mall and buy one. It made me sad, because I was looking foward to making my own.

I've gotten into jewelry making again. But since I'm practically broke, it's more like jewelry altering. I take pieces that I'm bored with, take them apart, mix them with other pieces that I'm bored with, and make new things.

I made this last month. It has a bracelet to match it, but I don't have a picture of it yet. My coworkers tell me that I should make pieces to sell. One of these days I would love to open a little booth at the local flea market... whenever I have the money to rent a space, AND to buy all the supplies I'll need to make enough pieces to sell. XP

Something else I would like to do, the day I can afford it, is design and make my own graphic tees. I could have fun with that.
