The trio traversed through the school, their footsteps quiet and light. Despite being a group of their, there were only the sound of two pairs of feet, no doubt that Rainer was carrying Caine like he always did. Having recently left their “tour” of the school, they began to aimlessly wander the SHIBUSEN halls. Blonde male happily humming a cheery tune, Kang Ling silently walked by his side, shoulders slightly hunched and head bent over.

The humming stopped, as well as the older boy. She curiously paused a few steps after him and looked back at Rainer. “I-Is so-so-something w-wrong?” she inquired.

Silently, his head nodded towards the side, pointing towards a door. “It’s classroom #7 that Ashie mentioned earlier,” replied the eighteen-year-old. Face lighting up as he conjured up a brilliant idea he added, “Since we’re basically going back to our dorms, why don’t we make a quick stop inside? It’ll be good to show you, I think.

A slight pause. Kang Ling carefully pondered the suggestion. Indeed, she was unaware of what exactly this classroom #7 entailed. She was convinced that she probably wouldn’t be able to summon up the courage to go inside by herself, so now was most likely the best time to visit it. She nodded her head and Rainer gleefully smiled.

Without another word he smoothly opened the door and stepped inside, Kang following soon after. She carefully closed the door behind her. “H-Hello . . .” she quietly greeted.

The room was relatively quiet, except for the occasional muttering and sharp curses that came from the direction of the pool table. Its occupants, two of SHIBUSEN's most notorious students, were currently both engaged in their own pursuits - Lucien was seated in one of the big, plush armchairs, while Z was attempting to practice trick shots with intense concentration. So much so, that when Lucien looked up from his book to regard the other silently, as observant as Z was, it took him a almost a full minute to notice.

"What?" The words came out somewhat more annoyed than Z had intended, with the frustration he already felt at his lack of success being compounded by noted the amused glint in the other's green eyes.

Lucien laughed softly, though the sound carried through the now-silent room. "Nothing, really. I was just noting that for someone who enjoys challenging the rules, you're having an awful lot of trouble with pool." He'd also been wondering about whether or not the WEAPON had discovered the reason behind the tension they'd had during their unproductive "tour" of the school, but that was a topic that Z and himself, by unspoken agreement, never discussed.

He knew the WEAPON would never reveal a secret that Lucien wanted to keep - just knowing gave Z the thrill. That, and knowing that Lucien was unsure about whether or not he'd found out. Sometimes the older boy was just as manipulative as he was.

The sound of the door opening caught both of the boy's attention, and two pairs of eyes swiveled towards the quickly widening gap between door and doorframe. Z's violet eyes smiled in greeting as Rainer and Caine stepped through, though Lucien's green ones turned thoughtful. Hadn't he heard that the WEAPON twins had picked themselves up a TECHNICIAN? A shy one, he added silently, watching as the frail, thin figure slipped in silently behind them.

His face took on a welcoming expression as he stood, taking care to put the book on the coffee table before walking over. He nodded his welcome to the twins, but extended his hand towards Kang in a courteous greeting. "Hello, I'm Lucien. I see you've paired up with Rainer and Caine! How was the introductory tour?"

Kang Ling stuck to the smooth, pine door like she was glued to it. Dainty hands still wrapped around the dull, brass knob, she shyly kept her gaze focused on the polished floor. Despite the lowered head, she still managed to catch fleeting glimpses of the entire area moments prior.

The twins having stepped through the entrance first, Rainer half-nodded his head at the pair and carefully set Caine down by the door, by Kang Ling’s feet, to be exact. “Hey there Z, Lucien!” greeted the teen, lips set in a wide grin. “Do you guys always hang out here, or what?” A teasing light in his light blue eyes, he bent down and poked his little brother in the cheek. “Kay Kay~ It would be a nice time to wake up now!

Eventually the dozing male cracked open an eye to reveal blue shades darker than his sibling. “What is it?” he snapped and sat up, causing Kang Ling to squeak and quickly scoot away to the other side of the door. Brain taking in his surroundings, he yawned and scratched the back of his neck. “You took us to classroom #7, so what? I’m going back to sleep.” And then he was out like a light, Rainer helplessly shaking his shoulder.

Meanwhile, their TECHNICIAN timidly stood to the side, fingers laced together and behind her back. Caramel eyes staring at her shoes like they were the most interesting thing in the world, she absentmindedly reached up to twirl her lone sidetail. Feeling a pair of eyes on her, her own eyes wandered around to see who it was, head still dipped low. A hand entered her field of vision and she did another squeak, surprised by the sudden voice.

Face burning red, she hesitantly reached out to take his hand with her own, face turning away to avoid eye contact. “O-Oh . . . I-I’m K-K-Kang Li-Ling D-De-Deng.” Her voice started out loud enough, but grew softer and softer the longer he spoke. “I-It wa-was g-g-go-good, th-thank y-you . . .

Then she heard Rainer’s voice again. “You guys, could you take care of Kang Ling while I try to wake Caine up?” he asked and promptly smacked Caine on the head, who didn’t even flinch. Boy was he a heavy sleeper. “Caine. WAKE UP.

Still standing by the pool table, cue in hand, Z shook his dark head at Rainer's words. "No, man. You know me, most of the time I'm not even in school. Though lately," the older boy glanced over at Lucien, who was currently engaged in conversation with the new girl, "it's been pretty fun, chilling out here." Not to mention it was getting busier now, with the new flood of partnered pairs roaming about the school.

Neither Lucien or Z were particularly bothered by Caine's dismissive comment, though Z grinned widely, thinking of a possible item he could look into sourcing and selling at the shop. Putting down the cue, he sauntered over slowly towards where the twins were settled near the door. Softly, he began, "You know.. there's this item I could get for ya, keeps people awake and aware. Works a bit like caffeine, but with a much bigger kick and the effects are guaranteed."

Lucien was deeply amused by this shy girl's response. It wasn't that people never stuttered around him, but rarely did they do it so.. extensively. He remembered hearing that it had been Ashie that had taken them around the school, and briefly wondered if she'd been like that in Ashie's presence as well. Lucien wouldn't doubt it, though the staff member was really one of the cheeriest people he'd ever met.

The hand in his own was small and frail, very much like the girl herself. Solemnly, letting none of his own thoughts show on his face, Lucien pumped it once before letting it go. Normally, with some of the bolder ones, he would've topped it all off with a chaste kiss to the knuckles, but he wasn't sure if the twin weapons over to the side would appreciate it if their new charge fainted.

Tossing a friendly wink down at Kang, Lucien grinned at Rainer. "Sure, sure."

Courteously, he held out his hand once again before asking in a questioning tone, "So, how do you feel about playing a game or two of pool? Since you're here..." Lucien raised an eyebrow as he waited for the other's response. The question was really just a formality to him, as he couldn't really see an alternative for Kang, but it was always good to make a good impression by giving the other a semblance of choice.

Ha. That’s true! Although I would have figured that you’d be punished for cutting classes so much.” Rainer chuckled and eventually plopped down on the floor, knees hurting from his previous position. Still attempting to wake up his brother to no avail, Rainer finally stopped and instead idly poked at Caine. He already knew that waking up the male was a pretty hopeless situation. Having known his twin for all eighteen years of their lives, the lad had always been like that, waking up and falling asleep as he pleased. Being a heavy sleeper also meant he couldn’t be easily woken up.

Hearing footsteps behind him, Rainer twisted his upper body and looked up to see a grinning Z towering over their sitting bodies. “An item to wake up Caine, huh?” He leaned back and placed his hands to the floor, legs carelessly sprawled out as he considered the proposition. It certainly sounded tempting. After finally pairing up with a TECHNICIAN, he had been hoping that Caine would at least care enough to be awake a little more often. Besides, the boy just needed to get more friends, seriously. His mouth opened to answer “yes” when a hand snaked out to cover his mouth.

Ocean blue eyes dangerously glittered at him. “Don’t you dare say what I know what you’re going to say,” he growled, lips twisted into a scowl.

After releasing her hand, she let it lifelessly drop to her side. Indeed, it was probably a smart thing to cut back on the kiss. Although there was a chance that Kang Ling would not outright faint, she would without a doubt blush bright red and scamper out of the room without another word. Seeing the wink, she flinched and immediately bowed her head low to hide her flushed face, side ponytail and bang obscuring her face from view. “P-Pool?” she demurely repeated, “I-I ne-ne-never p-played b-before, s-so I do-don’t t-th-think I-I’d b-be a-any go-good at i-it. I th-think I-I’ll wa-watch i-instead.

Lacing her fingers together, she stared at her shoes, pointing them at each other. “Th-Th-Thank y-you f-for the o-o-offer th-though.” She made a small, polite bow.

Z's face was expressionless as he regarded Rainer for a few moments. "Why would they bother?" The staff had tried, but it wasn't as if they could physically force him to come to school, or even attend detention. Plus, until Lucien, he hadn't even had a partner, so he hadn't been letting anyone else down. "It's not like I don't know the stuff." Which was also true; Z learned fast. And he learned better when it wasn't in a classroom. The only thrill to be found in those was when he walked out of it - in the middle of class.

He had seen the 'yes' forming on Rainer's mouth before Caine had covered it, and shrugged, though a smile hovered around his lips. The twins' interaction never failed to amuse him, and he mentally made a note to get a hold of the waking-potion anyway. Even if Rainer didn't buy it, Z would still figure out a way to pour the stuff down Caine's throat. Seeing Caine awake for more than two minutes would be worth it, since he suspected the other WEAPON would be even more of a pain in the a** while aware.

"Well, I'll get it anyway. I'm sure someone else can use it." Namely himself.

Seeing that Lucien was - predictably - busy charming the girl, Z turned back to Rainer. "So. What brings you here?"

The eyebrow went a little higher at Kang's refusal. Interesting. Mentally, Lucien ran through all the possible reasons for her to say no, and settled on 'far too shy'. A long, elegant finger reached out, applying gentle pressure on the girl's chin as she stared at her shoes.

Dropping his voice down a notch, he made it more persuasive, a little on the sensual side. "Now, there's always a first time for everything, right?" Including teaching a stuttering girl how to play pool, apparently. "You won't be good at it, ever, if you're not willing to learn."

For a second time, Lucien held out his hand, palm up. It was quite tempting to simply use it to drag her over to the pool table, but he didn't think it would be a good idea. Plus, he was here to make friends, wasn't he? "Let me teach you. It'll be fun!" His voice took on a smoother quality as he injected a touch of friendly enthusiasm. As he waited for a response, he mentally made a bet with himself about how often she would stutter when she spoke again.

Rainer slowly nodded his head once, mouth silently open. That was a pretty good point that Z brought up. The school staff could hand out as many punishments as they wanted to the WEAPON, but he highly doubted that he would ever bother to show to it anyways. In which case, tough luck for the school. Normally, he probably would have worried about the status of his fellow classmate, but he knew that it was better this way. Hey, if the guy could have survived this long in school with that method, it should be alright! People had their own particular way of doing things, like how Caine attended classes, but spent most if not all of his time sleeping. Not exactly the best, but it worked for him anyways!

Caine glared up at the other WEAPON. “What’s so funny?” he murmured in a low voice, lowering his hand and leaning back against the wall. A mischievous glimmer in Z’s violet eyes, the younger twin suspiciously stared up at him. He was planning something, he knew it, but just what, exactly?

He adjusted his sitting position, crossing his legs together before propping up a leg. A hand reached out to rest on his knee and Caine warily watched him answer. “Someone else, huh?” he calmly remarked with a scowl, thoughts stringing together to form a theory. Meanwhile, Rainer remained his clueless self and smiled.

A finger reached out and pulled her chin upwards. This immediately caused her whole body to tense up and eyes widened, like a deer caught in headlights. Voice quiet and deep, it made her legs go weak and they shook. Legs bent in an even more awkward position to attempt to keep her balance stable, she felt her face going hot.

Lips parted, but the words refused to roll off the tip of her tongue, rendered useless by the boy. He held out his hand and she frantically switched between his hand and his face. Mouth sealed shut and body still scared stiff Kang Ling tried to find the will to move again.

Jaws finally began to move again and she felt relieved to find that her body had started to relax as well, although her hands were still nervously twitching. The heat on her face had yet to fade away, as well. “O-O-O-O-O-Oka-kay th-th-the-the-then,” she meekly answered, unable to refuse the offer.

"Funny?" Z pretended to consider the question. "You two, of course. How you manage to stay asleep for 90% of the day is completely beyond me. Hell, how Rainer has the patience to carry you around while you sleep is also so far out there." It had to be said that Z was a bluntly honest person. It wasn't that he couldn't - and didn't - frequently withhold information, but he would be honest, if it meant that he could say something people usually didn't say.

He noted that Caine hadn't been fooled by his previous comment, not that it mattered. Z was confident in his ability to slip something past the boy anyway, though he could tell that Caine would be much more formidable than his brother should he manage to stay awake past five minutes. "Someone else, definitely. I suspect it'll be popular during exam periods."

The blush was cute. Sort of. Lucien smiled, though he took care not to let appear predatory. Which was how he was feeling. The finger that he'd used to apply gentle pressure now caressed the girl's chin, sliding smoothly along her jaw before he removed it.

"Alright." Lucien's other hand, still extended, moved unobtrusively to rest lightly on the girl's back. A light push, as he steered her towards the pool table further inside the room. "The game is relatively easy to pick up."

Once there, the boy began to move gracefully around the table, pulling balls out of the pouches and realigning them, resetting the game. As he did, he began explaining the rules, still using that smooth, friendly voice. "Now, pick a cue." Lucien gestured to the side wall, where a relatively wide selection of them were propped up.

A faux thoughtful look appeared on his face and the fakeness made Caine scowl at him. Really, he was tempted to fall asleep right then and there, but he had a hunch that Z would secretly pour down that awake potion down his throat while he was off guard. The resulting consequences to this would be unpleasant for Caine, amusing for Z, and wonderful for his brother, Rainer. Despite the want to doze off again, he forced himself to stay awake, thus making him a bit more miffed then usual.

Z replied that it would be for someone else and predicted that its popularity would spike once exam week rolled around. Although Caine could not deny that (he was pretty sure that it would be popular during that time as well) he was unconvinced by the remark. “For somebody else, sure.” His eyes constantly flickered back to the fellow WEAPON, on guard.

Rainer chuckled, nodding his head. “Definitely. I bet lots of people will by it for exams! Surprising, Caine is always awake long enough for testing period, right?” he quipped and glanced back at his brother, smile eternally on his face.

He lightly placed one of his hands on Kang Ling’s back and gently guided her towards the pool table. The touch made her tense up again and she stiffly walked towards the table. Trying to keep her thoughts focused on something else to calm herself down, she tried to recall the rules of pool that she already knew. Although the girl could recall her brothers eagerly playing pool at a family friend’s house, she had never paid particular attention to their games. “I-Is th-that s-s-so?” she mumbled.

She watched him elegantly move, head perking up and admiring his movements. Kang Ling wished she could move like that someday. Having twin fans as WEAPONs, she wanted to move languidly and beautifully, a far cry from her stiff and stuttering self. “C-C-Cue?” she replied and followed his gesture, now-noticing the line of cues.

Was there supposed to be a difference between them? She had no clue, so she picked a random one and timidly walked over to the table. “Th-Then w-w-what?

A wicked smile appeared on Z's face as he looked down at Caine, almost as if he could read the other boy's thoughts. "Don't worry, I don't have the stuff right now." But I will soon. While it wasn't said, the expression on his face clearly added the last comment for him.

Switching his violet gaze to Rainer, Z nodded solemnly. Caine was fun to rile up, but just teasing him with the threat of something that didn't yet exist was pointless. Plus his reaction was predictable, and that made the whole situation boring. "Is he? Interesting." He wondered if that meant Caine feigned sleep at times, and made a note to find out sometime. Considering the speed at which he always seemed to wake up to make a sharp comment, it was highly likely. "Exams will be a busy time for it, I'm sure. Maybe we'll have to make sure we have a large supply of the stuff."

While Lucien noticed Kang watching his every move, he was careful not to show it, continuing his explanation with a casual air. "Yes, it's not too hard. In the end, it just boils down to a stick and balls, with holes." His grin widened a bit, before he picked up his own cue and began to prepare it. Kang was such an innocent, he doubted she'd understand the double entendre. Little things amused him.

"There, you picked a good one for your size." Indeed, she had, and he wondered if it had been sheer luck, or experience. Probably luck. "Now, just chalk the tip with that cube over by the table."

Walking back over to Kang, Lucien stood close, though he left a gap between their bodies. Idly, the hand that wasn't holding his own cue reached out to make a few adjustments to the way Kang was holding hers. In one smooth, elegant motion, he bent down and broke the rack.

His sharp green eyes took on a lazy glow as he looked down at the shy girl. "Now, we play."

Caine scowled at the taller boy. Although he was glad that there didn’t seem to be any awake potions at the moment, once they were he would have to be careful around Z. Who knows when the mischievous WEAPON would strike? It was troublesome to admit, but he would have to unfortunately keep his eyes cracked open whenever the male was near. This greatly irked the youth. Without a doubt he would rather be catching some shut eye rather than having to keep an eye out, for fear of having some illegal concoction shoved down his throat. The results would lead to a clearly unhappy boy, ready to kill.

The issue about whether Caine was or was not pretending to sleep was something to be debated on. There was always the possibility he was an incredibly light sleeper and someone who fell asleep fast, or perhaps he always attempted to sleep before being rudely interrupted.

The older twin grinned and nodded his head. “Yeah! You probably should! Otherwise it’ll sell out quick, I bet.

She noticed him grin, but was oblivious to the exact reason behind it. Oblivious to the joke, Kang Ling continued to curiously look at Lucien, waiting for the answer to her question.

The TECHNICIAN confusedly stared down at her cue. Had she, really? It was pure coincidence, really. This was actually the first time the girl had picked up a cue. “C-Cube?” she softly repeated and meekly went over to the cube, awkwardly chalking the tip with it. Confused and befuddled by the game of pool, Kang Ling was wondering if she would ever be able to get it.

He strode towards her and she nervously hold onto her cue, wondering what he was going to do. Wordlessly, Lucien corrected her holding position and her brown eyes widened. “E-E-Eh?” Oh. So that’s how one is supposed to hold a cue.

Bending over the table, he began the game. Lacking an explanation, she panicked. “Wh-Wha--- D-Do I hi-hit wh-wh-whatever b-ball?!” She was utterly and completely confused.
PostPosted: Mon Aug 24, 2009 4:28 am

Nodding his agreement, Z grinned. "Yeah. Lucien would hate if we missed out on an opportunity to make profit." In fact, this entire get-up was due to the younger boy's scheming. Who knew that for someone who appeared to be such a model student, Lucien was actually a devious S.O.B. at heart? Well, Jerard had known. And maybe some of the other staff. But it always amazed him how Lucien could manage to deceive almost everyone else.

Flicking his tongue piercing against his teeth, Z looked down at the pair still settled by the door, wondering if he was expected to continue this conversation, or if he could go back to the trick shots he'd been practicing. A faint series of clicks, as Lucien broke the rack on a new game, ruled out the second option. "So." It was hard to be gracious when he was forced to make conversation, "why are you guys here, exactly?"

The fact that Kang hadn't picked up on any of his not-so-innocent comments didn't surprise him, though it meant that the entire situation was just a little bit less fun. Lucien could have upped the flirting a little bit, but he wasn't about to do it while the twins were around. The last thing he wanted was to be held responsible for some young girls' feelings, and while he could definitely hold his own against the pair, it would be a waste of time and effort. Especially when he could simply wait for another opportunity, when Kang was alone.

A sharp, predatory gleam flicked quickly through Lucien's green eyes and were gone, replaced by a charming smile.

"Relax, honey. Don't worry so much - I'll talk you through the game." Lucien wondered if he'd be able to talk her through other, less innocent games as well, and his voice took on a slightly more seductive note as he continued. "First, to shoot." He applied a small amount of pressure on Kang's shoulder, indicating she should bend over the table a little bit. Adjusting her hands once again, he set it up so that her cue was pointing directly at the cue ball before leaning down alongside her, close enough that their breath stirred each other's hair. "Now," his voice was low, reflecting their proximity, "you look down the cue, trying to aim the white ball so that it hits a colored one with enough force to knock it into one of the holes."

Up close, Lucien could smell the girl's faint scent, and it wasn't unpleasant. He wondered... removing himself from temptation, he stood, taking a step back. "Can you do it?" he asked.

Rainer cocked his head to the side, curious at Z’s statement. Well, that was new. He had never realized Lucien was the type who would jump at every chance to make money. Though the fact was that neither of the twins knew Lucien or Z all that well. Actually, he was starting to wonder who in the school could say that they thoroughly knew either of the two. If there were any, it would probably be one or two people, or so he guessed. It would be nice to learn a bit more about the elusive pair, though.

Why we’re here?” he repeated and he gazed far off into the room, mouth open. “Uh . . .

Caine sighed, wondering why his brother could be so forgetful at times. “Kang hadn’t been here before, so Rainer decided to show it to her,” he answered and Rainer’s eyes lit up with recognition. He glanced over at their TECHNICIAN. “Although it seems that she’s having fun doing something else.

Relax. Just relax. She nervously nodded her head, but the grip on the cue in her hands grew ever tighter. Kang Ling was an obedient girl, but perhaps being told to relax was one command that she wouldn’t be able to follow very well. The girl attempted to take slow, quiet, deep breaths, but that didn’t do much to get her to relax her grip. It was soothing to know that he wasn’t going to just fling her into a round of pool without an explanation. Although Kang had to admit that she would have gladly preferred that she got a lowdown of everything before starting the game.

Swearing that there was something hidden in his voice she choked back a confused squeak. Her face flushed pink and she had no idea as to why. His voice had only lowered by only a few notches, right? What was so special and nerve-wrecking about that? Kang Ling wasn’t so sure if she wanted to get an answer to her question, though.

Lucien was close. Too close. She felt herself shrink back from his touch and she squeezed her eyes shut, face burning even more. Oh . . . she wasn’t so sure if coming to classroom #7 had been such a good idea, after all! Without a doubt she would blush enough for the rest of her life by the time she walked out of this room. If only she wasn’t so easily flustered! Things might’ve been more comfortable for the female.

She stiffly nodded her head. “I-I th-think s-s-so.” Fingers trembling, she wondered if she really could do this. Eyes closed once more and she shot at the white ball. It wasn’t powerful, but it wasn’t weak either. Though it would have been a better idea to actually aim first, for it grazed another nearby ball before innocently halting to a stop. “U-Um . . .

"I see." Z shugged. Even without following Caine's gaze, he knew what was going on behind him. It probably appeared like an innocent pool game, but Lucien knew exactly how to seduce without seeming to. Plus, Z had already watched this particular game play out more than once. "Lucien enjoys teaching pool." It was a relatively bland comment, for a less-than-bland situation. But what was he supposed to say, really?

Finally. The girl was blushing red, to the very roots of her hair. Having achieved the desired reaction, Lucien smiled, deciding to call it enough for the day. Such games were best played slow, and with Kang in particular being so skittish, perhaps it would be best if played at a snail's pace. He could be patient.

Speaking of being patient with games... He glanced over at Z, and noted the signs - his partner was quite obviously getting fed up with having to deal with the twins. The fact that they were there, (not to mention settled right in front of the door,) meant that Z was still in the room, but eventually the older boy's desire to leave due to boredom would override the necessity of pushing past the pair. There was always the window, but ... hmm. It seemed like Z rarely ran out that way, now. At least not when there were others in the room. How strange.

"Not bad," though the shot was terrible, Lucien was surprised that she'd managed to hit the cue ball at all with her eyes shut. "Don't worry so much about it. Here," he reached across the pool table, hand gracefully picking up the cue ball, "let's not worry too much about the game." Setting the white ball in front of Kang, Lucien stood back once more. "Maybe you can practice shooting for today instead."

Let her do a few more practice shots, he thought to himself, then you can end it for the day, and she'll feel like you understood her nervousness. If he stopped too soon, she'd feel like she was a nuisance. And that wasn't what he wanted at all.

“Enjoys teaching pool.” Right. Sure Lucien did. Caine didn’t believe that. Dark blue glanced at Rainer and watched him slowly nod his thought at Z’s statement. The dense and clueless guy was easily fooled, but his brother was not. Unlike the other WEAPON, Caine happened to have an observant pair of eyes and a competent brain paired along with it. It wasn’t like Kang Ling wasn’t smart though, it was just that her quirk of being easily flustered made it easy for her to miss the fine details of things. When the time came, the task of devising strategies would probably be the sleepy boy’s job. Well, that didn’t seem to be anytime soon. Were tactics really needed to fight their targets at the current moment? He highly doubted it. These murderers were a piece of cake, to be honest.

Right, of course she does,” he sourly muttered. Rainer glanced at his twin before smiling like nothing was bothering him. “Well, why don’t we go back home, then?

She stood up straight and held onto the cue, curled fists reaching her thighs and careful to not knock anyone over with the wooden pole. Cheeks flushed red and Kang Ling managed to keep her gaze fixated on the pool table rather than sink her head low like she always did. At least Lucien wasn’t the type of people who would tease and poke fun at every little thing that mock-able people did.

Kang Ling was both disappointed and relieved to hear that instead of playing a game she would practice shooting instead. She had been looking forward to trying it out, but was glad that she wouldn’t have to make a fool of herself either. The girl went about practicing, constantly walking and moving around the table. Eyebrows furrowed as she stared at the white ball with frustration. Pool was harder than she thought.

Then she finally pulled off a successful shot and her face glowed. She shyly smiled and spoke in a soft voice. “I did it . . .” Far too elated to realize that her achievement had caused her to skip her stuttering, her arm jerked and she wildly looked around to see Rainer pulling her towards the exit. “Caine’s getting testy, let’s go quick!

Kang Ling threw a mournful look at the pool table and reluctantly put away her cue, her WEAPON pulling on her arm all the while. “A-Another ti-time . . .
