Is there a specific way you fight? Are there specific characters you use in combat? Name who you fight with and if your offense user or defense user.
Breath of Fire III
For most battles I use these characters:
Garr
Rei
Nina
and Ryu
The reason I don't use the other characters:
Momo- Can't really aim straight and her protection spells don't really aid me.
Peco- Very weak in strength as well
The reason why I use these characters:
Garr-Out of all my characters in the game, he has the most HP and the most Defense stats. And he hits his target most of the time.
Rei-As long as you have Influence, he's very strong and affective against enemies.
Nina-She has the major healing, and her magic is OK.
Ryu- You kinda have to play him, you know? xD
All and all, I use offense or strength instead of defensive magic. I hardly use protect or anything like that.

When I play the first BoF, I use:
Ryu: His dragon transformations rock.
Nina: Her healing abilities are too helpful to get rid of her.
Bleu: I like to take out all of my enemies at once, so her attack-all black magic really helps me out.
Karn - Puka Hybrid: What can I say? Not only is the character adorable, he's really strong.

I don't really have a strategy but for Breath of Fire III I used:
Ryu
Rei
Momo
I used Momo mainly because I always have the last person in any of my RPG's as the healer. But I agree with her lack of accuracy, many a time have I nearly thrown the pad at the tv for it. The other two are just strong and fast, and I like my battles to end quickly.

Kit, I don't remember Nina3 having heal spells. She'd be a lot more useful if she did, haha.
I really like Momo for her Might and healing (since Ryu's usually too busy kicking a** to heal everyone). There's a skill you can teach her called Shadowwalk that won't miss, so then you can take advantage of her power. Artemis' Cap helps a lot, too.
As for Peco, I hear a lot of suggestions to put him under Fahl or Bunyan. From what I see on level-up charts, Peco has the highest HP/Def and his Atk is second only to Garr's. He also has natural HP regen and a 50% reprisal rate, and a bit more death resistance than the rest of the cast.

Nina<---as long as you put Shield,Purity,Benediction,Celerity,War Shout to Nina,she would be a good backup since she's pretty fast and have some powerful skill.And I put Faul,Bunyan as master,her defence and power would be balance
trainning to get skill
Ryu
Peco<---would be a good one for Deis and Ladon to get skill
Garr<---rare use him even though he's powerful and more defence but problem is,he's slow and I dun really feel like to put fairy as his master

I could've sworn Nina had healing spells, then again I could be wrong. (Haven't played the game in quite a while) I guess I use her for magic purposes.

Peco- Very weak but if trained right he can be very powerful. but not worth my time

Momo- Her healing magic and she hits her target most of the time with the Artemus cap on.
Rei- He's very strong and affective against most enemies.
Nina-She has the major magic user and if you teach her healing magic she makes a perfect party member.
Ryu- You kinda have to play him his dragon powers make him very powerful too.

Kit Katy I could've sworn Nina had healing spells, then again I could be wrong. (Haven't played the game in quite a while) I guess I use her for magic purposes. She's a healer in BoF1 and 4, and in 2 she can have Cure 2 if you save only a few villagers when escaping the flooding well.
